Boulder tools has that same tire kit with the same amount /exact amount of pieces in a nice compact pouch will Molly straps for a little cheaper than the set in the blow molded case. I have a built right ind bedside rack system in my truck as well so I opted for the molle panel just to try to clean up the usable space I have in my storage bins and under seat storage .
Great kit... Serpentine belt is a very smart item to have in there. Doesn't take a lot of room but will be totally worth it if your belt snaps in the middle of nowhere. Does the battery charger for your drill and impact drivers plug in to an automotive 12v connection or do you need an inverter?
Good kit. Just 2 things. 1. Get a vehicle specific fuse kit. That is how you will find those pink 30amp fuses. 2. A shaker sphion. Will help get gas into any tank. I like having them around to fill up my lawn mowers and small equipment. But it would help to get fuel out other vehicles also.
You may have it, but I didn’t see it. If you have to pull over to do repairs you need to warn other drivers. Flares, orange reflectors or whatever is most efficient.
My question to you, do the batteries get hot and die in the case. I am asking cause I Live in Ga and it gets super hot in the summer time. I want to put my tools in case
My tool kit covers nearly any possible raodside repair without batteries. Leftovers from driving shitboxes and of course my truck is an absolute beater I need until I get a couple more promotions at work. I need to replace the small air compressor and plug kit, but it's a lot of tools in a bed mounted toolbox.
Good mix of stuff. I carry a similar load but the one thing that i carry in my bag you dont is a hatchet. Probably the most used item in my bag for trailering and loosening things mainly. But im in the northwoods so occasionally taking down a tree in the road also. Good videos.
I use a bunch of Ridgid boxes, but ya, I’m surprised Pelican stays in business with cheaper harbor freight alternative plus the tool pack out systems offer so much more flexibility
Good stuff. I’ve rigged a way for me to drop a couple of Ridgid 2.0 large boxes in the back, it’s mounted on a bed divider that I installed the wall mounts on. So they literally drop in and I have a couple cable locks that I can lock them down. I have about 4 of these boxes. 2 of them slide in and out easily, of course I could drop a couple others in as well and strap down with tie downs, but that’s not as quick. I have 1 box dedicated for the truck at all times. Some hand tools, sockets, inflator, etc. another box dedicated to more tools, another box dedicated to my mountain bike tool kit and another box dedicated to my dirt bike kit and then when I race my kart, I have the whole Ridgid system stacked up with all my kart specific tools and many spare parts. These kits are very specific to each discipline with foam cut outs for each tool and no “extra” tools. Each tool has a specific purpose and each tool has a place. If I find an open slot in my box, at end of the day, it means that someone borrowed my tool and hasn’t brought it back. I also have a Kobalt power tool behind my seat that I modified to carry a Kobalt battery, a 3/8” Kobalt impact wrench, a 1/2” Kobalt impact wrench and a 1/4” Kobalt impact driver, a set of Makita impact sockets on the rubber rail and a set of sockets specifically for lugs. Might be over kill, but few months ago I found the Kobalt impacts on clearance for $25 each and I couldn’t pass that up (I wasn’t even in Kobalt line at the time) so I bought 4 of the impacts and I keep a set in my truck and another in my car (I’ve got the DeWalt 921 and the Ryobi mid-torque at home). True story. Within 30 days period we had 3 flats in the family. My daughter x 2 and then my wife. The 3rd was on Halloween and luckily my wife was just getting off the freeway and I was only 15 min behind her. Since my daughter got her flat 3 days prior, I still had one of my pneumatic jacks in the bed. Sure enough, I got that out, had my impact and sockets handy and went in to nascar wheel changing mode. I was there literally less than 5 min and sent her on her way to get ready for Halloween party/dinner. Was super nice to have everyone so ready. I need to also take your advice and get a patch kit. I have one for home use, but now need one for truck!!!
Nice video, my dad was a mechanic in the AIr Force. If your kit has room, how about a portable tire air compressor and floor jack, few extra fluids; windshield wiper, oil, transmission, preferably Superzilla or at least some WD-40 and radiator, funnel small and large, jumper cables, tire iron, battery post cleaner, battery cables, seat belt cutter and breaker, emergency flashlight and road blinkers or flares, wool blanket, mechanics fender cover, tarp with grommets to go underneath a vehicle and most importantly a jump start box like the Noco?
Love the truck videos! Timely around Father’s Day with items to help you and your family and I like how you always consider helping others as well with your EDC as it always feels good to be able to help someone out
