Since Labour Day, EQX has triple-bottomed also, 29 months into a downtrend and overdue for change of trend. Liberty took off two months ago, 26 months into a downtrend. Can you share any more of his past picks?
If you recognise the risk of being unable to separate the wheat from the chaff in the rainbow of carbon credits in USA, why would you place a higher risk on EU carbon credits when it is centrally planned and all carbon credits have a unified standard? Sure you have policy risk, but I think thats far less risky than betting on individual carbon credit companies who are mostly on voluntary crediting schemes which everyone recognises theres a severe lack of transparency and verfiability. Either way, its the companies that verify the carbon credits that seems to be the most derisked. They are not price sensitive to carbon credits, they are partially shielded from policy (they typically advise the regulatory committees) and have a stable revenue from companies seeking to verify carbon credits.
Why isn’t anyone talking about buying mineral interest (oil and gas). Mailbox money from operators and no outside cost to the owner. That’s 45% of my portfolio.
