Sport - "an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment." Everything else covers the definition. But when it comes down to competition. They are competing to be the top guy in the company. This is why having skills on the mic and / or in the ring is important. It actually fits the definition completely.
First time listener and I gotta say, I LOVE pro wrestling. I very much enjoyed your commentary on whatever fairy tale Lousy Ronda Rousey is spinning about pro wrestling. Which did I mention, I LOVE? I could listen to Cornette's, or Dutch Mantell's, or Booker T's take on current happenings and goings ons in professional wrestling and agree with about 95% of it. But its much more refreshing to hear another fan; especially a woman, articulate their feelings about the current happenings and goings ons in pro wrestling. I liked, commented, subscribed, AND shared with my friends. Look forward to more pro wrestling analysis. Gawdspeed.
Shayna Baszler says that one thing she loves about combat sports is the hierarchical progression. You start off as a novice and you're expected to clean the mats and learn from your elders. Then you progress and progress and establish yourself to the point where you are the elder who can teach the next generation. That's the energy I get from someone like Becky, for example, but certainly not from Rhonda. She was there to fight for 'equality', but I think what that meant to her is "put an equal spotlight on me that you shine on all the top male stars", instead of "this is a chaotic business, and I should get an equal slice of that chaos."
She doesn't take it seriously but she wants all the time in the world? Her moveset was trash. She never showed anything. She probably private jetted her way through everything
