Oh lawdy lawdy, this is deffo a big turning point for the show and let me tell you, THIS JOINT WAS DANG NEAR A MASTERPIECE. Yeah it wasn't an episode that broke new ground in storytelling, animation, etc but instead of doubling down on being something new and innovative this episode stuck to it guns and executes what its good at to near perfection imo. I'm thoroughly impressed with this one. So here's the Cyberpunk Edgerunners season 1 episode 6 (1x6) reaction hope yall enjoy .

Yeah this episode is up there for me dawg. Its rare when I find it hard to put into words why I liked something so much but this one kinda did me in. Its not like it does anything that breaks the mold for anime but its execution in what it does do right felt damn near perfect and thats just as impactful as say, bringing new ideas to the table imo. To answer the question in the title... yeah.. it's a masterpiece. 10/10. I really like the scene with Tanaka talking to David. It's the first time David has to deal with potentially having to kill someone he knows. At the same time when Tanaka asks him what does he want, David has no clue, cause he's constantly trying to please the people he cares about. This was a great reaction. There's no need to apologize for not talking enough during this episode. Not talking & being drawn in is a reaction. It means the media format you're watching is excellent...& it's the best reaction imo. It's a fine line between talking just because you feel like that's what's expected from you, & still being able to pay attention & know what's going on in the show. Again, great reaction. Little lore background, Max-Tac are highly trained Cyber Psychos hired to respond to cyberpsycho attacks. The girl shown in the original reveal trainer for Cyberpunk 2077 with the mantis blades was a cyberpsycho that got recruited to Max-Tac and you can meet her in the game as a side mission.

I like how they draw similarities to chroming up as a drug addiction that will kill you one way or another. How it mentally breaks you and turns you on your friends and family, great writing!

So exited for the episodes you really treat us with these videos aege! Once again David had to watch, and even scavenge his arm, as his friend dies in slow motion, unable to do a damn thing about it. After being tortured by BD's where he constantly dies from MaxTec must've given him some bad trauma, shows how mental hardy David is at being able to stand by Mayne. Edit: That scene of David running forward and past the old Mayne as he stares from the back it heart wrenching, also the line about the cops keep appearing is a nod to the spawning on release of the game.

This episode is the dark high-point of the series, save from the conclusion. Maine's death-song is actually a soundtrack from a radio-station in the game. The track is called "Zurawie". The overall unwritten rule of the cyberpunk universe, ever since the pen/paper tabletop game was first conceived is that *Everything* have a price. Cyberpsychosis treatment requires removing a bunch of your chrome and undergoing months of therapy (chrome can be added back slowly). The treatment exists, but most people don't want to deal with it and think they can just push through it. In the video game, its supposed to be a commentary on modern mental health problems, and how people don't to seek help. What's really different than the show is this idea they float that cyberpsychosis doesn't really exist, in the same way you can't diagnose someone as a mass shooter; people just have lots of compounding mental issues and weapons embedded into their bodies.

lore/general world thing: the desert In Maines delusions is right out side night city, if you were to step a foot out side of night city you would be met with either sand or a land fill or both. Also night city is in California/New California.

best part of this episode was after maine told david to keep running and you see him run past the end of the road where maine had stop, the artistry in that scene was just masterful.

The way they depicted Maine going Cyberpsycho reminded me of the first bad guy in Ninja Scroll, Tessai. A combination of the lighting, the same look in his eyes, the bloodspatter on his face. Can't help but wonder if the folks at Trigger were inspired by that or if I just made it the fuck up.

When i watch this the second time see why was Lucy so eager to get the data on someone who works with Arasaka to get a chance to see if they have data on her which something they feared but finds something much worst, the man she loves. ouch.

Yeah this is a pretty amazing episode that I will remember for a very long time. And I’ve been thoroughly brainpoisoned by anime over the years. It’s defos up there.
