I crave silence,at least the absence of man made noise.When I’m aware if the birds singing and leaves rustling,of winds blowing and squirrel chatter,I feel close to the Creator and in the rhythm of the Holy Spirit.

I find the older I get the more peaceful existence I crave. Very little noise and certainly NO drama.

Love the outdoor date night. My husband and I do that alot actually we have a fire pit in our backyard that becomes a magical place when the fire is crackling and we have time to sit an talk . Yes a cozy warm drink (hot tea, Coco, or coffee I'm in) ❤ thank you for the moments you give to others. It is visually an mentally beautiful an comforting.

I have suffered with Seasonal Affectve Disorder my whole life and just now, recently at 44 have I started to embrace each season for what it is, I'm much happier day by day.

I definitely feel the same about "spring" cleaning in winter. I feel more motivated to clean and de clutter our home in winter. By spring, I'm itching to spend more of my days outside in the garden and on walks; I don't want to be cooped up inside while the world is coming alive 🌱🧺

When I saw your doggie just laying by the fire , it reminded me of my late "Peaches" who passed a year ago in September! I wish i could say we have a wood burning stove, we don't, but she would lay by the electric heater we have. My comfort is that I live in my mother-in-law's old home that my husband renovated. It is cozy, old, wooden floors, and we kept the original footprint, just brought it a new life! It is small, but it is just right!

I hope you soldier on even though it might look difficult right now. Your videos bring wamth to my heart and rekindle my love for God in times when it is difficult. I'm certain I,m not the only one feeling this way. Thank you to you and James for your fortitude.

I agree with you. I prefer to do my decluttering and “spring cleaning” in the winter. I find that I’m more energized and motivated in the cloudy, rainy, cold and dark days. I hate the spring and summer heat here in Texas, so I tend to be more drained during the hot months. Anyhow, loved this video, as I do all of your videos. ❤

I know I need to learn to sit better with discomfort and still focus on the areas where I'm still deficient for2023's word. I've also allowed myself to slow down this past fall instead of rushing everywhere all the time. It's been an extraordinary blessing. Thank you for another beautiful video! That is lovely. "The Art of winter!" My husband used to say "The art of doing nothing" for years and years (and we used to run a podcast a decade ago where we talked about it) and now I see it being tossed around. I think the "art of winter" will allow for myself to enjoy it better, as it is my least favorite season. I think it is so important to rest, as I feel that is a bit of what we are to do in the winter time. Most people are rushing around this time of year too. Reading "The Long Winter" is perfect for this time of year. I do December decluttering too, so I can start the new year fresh (granted I don't have much left to declutter anymore). Oh man, it must be so warm in your home with the fire there. Also, not sure if you check your IG messages, as I am sure you get a lot, but I once asked if colostrum is safe for nursing moms to drink. Now I ask the same about collagen peptides too. Your chickens are so loved and it is so cute.

I’m folding my 3yo daughter’s laundry while I watch this. I love your thoughts. Also, I was fascinated by that “smokeless fire pit” and was going to ask about it, but then you mentioned it. We can’t burn actual fire pits in my neighborhood due to smoke pollution so this looks like the perfect way to get my fireside cravings in!

I am entering the winter of my life. When I was young I detested the cold and winter. As I have gotten older I have embraced it and look forward to it each year. Like you it gives me time to focus on so much I ignored during spring and summer. Plus I can rewind and renew as well.

I live in New England. The Boston, Massachusetts area of the world. I find that in the winter I want to slow down. Like the animals outside and their natural knowing of hibernating. I also see that my cravings for food change with the late fall and winter. I want hardier meals that as my grandmother used to say "stick to my ribs" and stay with me longer. I want porridge in the morning and soups stews, freshly baked breads and root veg this time of year. I crave wanting to spend these winter days indoors cooking rather than opening a tin of soup. Could we as humans mimic the traits of the animals outside? do we have our own version of hibernating? I am not sure. I just know I feel different this time of year. Happy Holidays

I stopped working last May, and knowing that the pressure is off me to be at a job when the weather is bad or roads are dangerous, is such a relief and a blessing. And, my body doesn't do all the things it used to do, in the amount of time I used to do them 😂 So, knowing that I can just be indoors and rest is a joy. If it's too cold or too snowy, I'll just reschedule that appointment or go to Walmart another day. There's something to be said for getting older. Thanks again ❤

I love winter. Fall is first, then winter. I love summer for all the gardens and flowers. Just don't love the heat and humidity where I live. Lol.
