Been watching more and more of your videos, and I love the energy of your work. I started doing watercolor earlier this year, and have been pretty good at doing one painting a day. Under the way I picked up drawing again, and now I have started doing acrylic. It`s been such a fun ride, and seeing your videos keep inspiring me. Thank you. Greetings from Norway.
Love the painting, but I especially appreciate your narration of what you are thinking and doing. From the initial rough sketch placing the shapes on the box until the final highlights, you are exceptional. Thank you for sharing this!
Took me a while to see the eggplant and beans. The longest time I couldn't see the tomatoes hints of lights and darks splash accent volia there they were. Love the blue drawers.
Wonderful painting Richard! You bring out the beauty in all your subjects, it is so inspiring! And again, it is so very interesting to see you in action, hear your comments and watch your magnificent control of the knife!
Hello Richard. Magnificent painting once again, well done. It's so realistic from a distance that it makes you want to push the drawer to close it! The whole thing is bright despite the very dark background, thanks to the color of the vegetables themselves and the touches of shine that you have added to them.👏👏😊
G'day mate, I'm hungry now 😄It's Sunday morning, the Sun is out, the birds are chirping and another Musgrave-Evans delight to enjoy. Never ceases to amaze me how you build apparent detail from splodges of paint. A flick of the knife and an edge forms, a splash of lighter value and a highlight transforms the mundane into a feature. What about those drawers, they really do hold the scene together, helping give depth and character. Another fun and entertaining learning experience. Cheers, Rich
Painting with the knife isn't easy but here the essence of the subject has been registered right from the beginning and the end result is convincing .Thank you !
Beautiful painting! One small thing bothers me - the similar colors of the red potato and the onion. What I see is almost a violet of the potato, and a red/burgundy/slightly orange of the onion. But who am I to nitpick? Great Job Richard!!!
Thanks for sharing again, just beautiful! One day, when I get older (I’m only 64 now 😂), I hope to have the ability to identify and mix colors as masterfully as you do. Will these last two or three still life paintings eventually be for sale on your website?
I'd soften the dark spot near the top of garlic also the shadow spot on the tomato to left. Thank you again for inspiration. At one point your hands near the drawer made me think you could actually open it more.
👋Hello Richard, nice to see you again so soon with a new and really appetizing video. I like the arrangement and the vibrant colors make it stand out well against the more inconspicuous background. A special eye-catcher is the purple eggplant, because it breaks up the crescendo of yellowish to reddish tones. Actually, these are foods that you encounter almost every day, whose colors and shapes you know, but the precise observation that you need during the painting process provides you with the aha-effect. One can't help but also have a closer look at the open metal drawer, whose dented front seems to invite one to take a hammer and a piece of wood to knock it back into its original shape; but then it would lose its special individuality, wouldn't it? A special thank you to your tireless explanations during the painting process, for which I, as an amateur, always have an open ear, because - to say it with Socrates/Plato - I know that I know nothing. 😉Have a wonderful weekend, Richard.💖
Looks great. I think something like a cob of corn would prove frustrating here. I found for me even with a brush things like a bowl of raspberry's/blackberry's to be a chore because of all the little round bits so close together most showing the light.
