This came up randomly in my recommendations and I am so glad it did. This is so wonderful. It makes me wonder where all the slides my family collected over the years have gone and the memories locked within them.
the ones that stick out for me are the ones from Norway there so nostalgic both because ive been to where they were and grow up there, my farfar (means grandad) had his own little dark room and would make images like these. the little kid on the stool with the Swedish and Norwegian flag behind him looks like my dad mainly coz of the silly clothes but its just nice to see. feels like the family picture book that covides stopped me from seeing in the last 3 years. thank you for shearing.
It’s fascinating that these slides can not only speak for the time they were shot so well, but also it’s quite weird to me that people would sell personal slides like this. I hope my film wouldn’t end up away from my family, myself. At the same time it gives new life and meaning to more people…
I usually don't click on the random RU-vid recommendations but this video was great. You have a great way with storytelling! I've been trying to get into photography myself and it's capturing moments like the ones on the slides that get me excited. Can't wait to see the rest of your content and what you continue to come up with next!
Great episode. I often imagine my negatives, tucked in their sleeves, bound in binders, sitting on a table in an antique store long after I’ve departed the world. Aside from my son, my photography will be my only legacy.
That bin is the saddest thing I've seen in so long. I can't imagine the 1000's of great shots that weren't cherished by their families. But at least you brought light to a few of them. Thanks.
such a great video! love the idea of making your own story from other people’s photos. now i gotta binge all your videos. will stay tuned for more banger vids 🔥🔥 wish i could shoot slide film all the time like people used to haha.
This was incredibly inspiring - not only was it cool to have a look through someone’s memories, but it also makes me appreciate all the ridiculous photos I’ve taken of my friends over the years haha. There’s soooo many memories I forgot about until I looked through them. Can’t wait to build up a whole lifetime of photos - can only imagine how much I’ll appreciate them 80 years from now. Anyhoo, awesome video!! ٩( 'ω' )و
This was wonderful. I have thousands of slides that I got from my mother. 35mm, 126, and 127. I'm scanning them, but did not know what to do with the originals. I may donate them to a thrift shop, now. Thank you.
As a 66yo now I wonder what as well will become of all my photos and slides after I am gone. Maybe my daughter will cherish them, an artist herself but eventually, like the ones you have in front of you, our descendants become further removed and in just 3 or 4 generation have no physical connection or memories of us as they were born after we were gone. To them, these are just photos, disconnected from any emotions.
