What a beautiful bookcase! I need something like that to keep my books dust-free & nice & bright. I'm new here, & am doing a purge of my own, so getting inspiration from others lol. You have some gorgeous editions! XD NB - The Witcher books are fantastic. Sapkowski is one of my favourite authors.

Goodness, Alice, even your book purges are gorgeous, beautiful, and soothing! 😀❤️ As I’ve mentioned in comments on other posts, I’ve been buying physical books like crazy this summer, and find myself in the predicament of having nowhere to shelve them without either winnowing my current collection or buying a new bookcase. This may be just the inspiration I need to let go of some books. Even ones with beautiful covers. 😟😉 One of the books you got rid of, a title by Mick Herron, is written by a former colleague of mine. I say a former colleague, but when he worked at our company, it was over 30,000 people and he was in an office in the UK, I believe, while I am in the US, so I didn’t know him, just of him. 😀

Lovely video. I am a New Zealander, and The Bone People by Keri Hume is a national novel that lots of Nzers know. I studied it at university, and to be honest with you, we have some better pieces of literature. It is tough to read, albeit important ideas.

On Thursday it was 30 degrees and today it’s around 25 (the same temp in my apartment) so I am surprised to see you wearing a winter sweater already ! I have Foreign Soil on my TBR and I know it’s good. As for the purge, loved it. I do keep an open bag all the time and put the books in it after I read them. Now the bag is full. I am about to clean up and sort out all my apartment (I do this twice a year)and I will unhaul books for sure. Have a nice Sunday !

Love a book purge! Awww I absolutely loved The Bone People, but I can totally see why you found it difficult to get into - the writing style can put people off I think and it deals later on with some pretty dark subject matter. I couldn’t finish The Vegetarian, just wasn’t into it - and I keep seeing The Toymakers in your vids and I’m so wary for you because I was bored out of my mind and ended up skim reading it just because I was craving a Christmassy book last year 🤦‍♀️ hope you enjoy it more than me when you get round to it!

I've never seen that edition of The Vegetarian. It's beautiful. Too bad the book is not good. I quite hated it myself. But I liked Human Acts since that is a book more along my interests, being a book about the student rebellion in South Korea.

You have the coolest collection ever! Felt same way about The Vegetarian. I picked it up seeing a lot of hype, but didn't really got beyond first 30 pages or so. (Dumb question, so apologies up front) What do you do with books you purge? I mean do you give them to charity or friends/family or local library...? Interesting review about The Confessions of Frannie Langton. Have it on my Scribd downloads. Will look for and go through your your review and decide if it's worth giving it a go. Came across the world of Andre Norton and decided to give Forerunner series a go. She has been big on my list (along with other notable names in fantasy/sci-fi world like Mercedes Lackey, Michael Moorcock, Marion Bradley, Lionel Fanthorpe, Piers Anthony, Harry Turtledove, Brian Aldiss) for a while. 🙂

How are your book organized? By genre or name? Or color? I couldn't tell. Love to see an organization video

does Norway have a second hand online bookshop btw? I'm just wondering because I recently bought Swedish books on a Swedish second-hand sort of ebay for books. I'm still struggling to find a way to get Norwegian books that doesn't cost me £50 per book haha I tried to find some of the books you recommended but I couldn't afford them :D

What I did to make room in my bookshelves, was put all my cookbooks in the kitchen.
