In this video, I'm coming to you from Coral Princess, a cruise ship owned and operated by Princess Cruises. Today, I'm going to give you a full cabin tour of a stateroom type that I've never seen before: a Mini Suite, but with no balcony!

Thank you, Fraser. We loved the look of this room so much that we booked the mini suite no balcony on the Coral Princess for a round trip across the Panama Canal and back. 39 days! I'll let you know how it turns out.

Nice choice, Dave! You’re going to get such a great view from this room type for the Panama Canal due to their location! Not sure if you’d have seen, but my Panama Canal video is also live on RU-vid - you may find interesting!

Thanks, Fraser. We'll check the video out! I love that just outside the cabin door, and a couple steps down the hall, there's a semi private deck at the front of the ship. Our front row seat to watch the canal. 🙂

Looking at this room type on the Island Princess for a cruise late next year so I won’t miss the balcony as it will likely be a bit chilly. Thank you for the tour.

Hello! Thanks for commenting - I did think this was a beautiful room, and would be good for colder routes. I thought it would be excellent for some Northern Europe cruising!

Coral Princess and Island Princess are sisters built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in France. the design brief was to build as big a ship as possible that would fit through the Panama canal locks (older original locks) with the size being known as Panamax. Both ships have this cabin type. The interesting part is that Island Princess will be sailing out of Southampton during 2023 and it is probably the smallest Princess ship in the fleet now.

Yeah, I was so surprised to open the door and not see a balcony. Great size of room though, so would be amazing for people that don’t like the outside space. For example, families with young kids!

Some Princess ships have Window Suites, again no balcony but they have picture windows and are considered full suites. Grand Princess have them on the deck next to the casino.

Only really commenting in an attempt to help the channel with the RU-vid algorithm thingy. This cabin would have to be favourably priced between a standard ocean view and standard balcony cabin. Without the balcony, and what is essentially a single room still rather than totally separate living and bedroom, I wouldn't view this as an upgrade on a balcony cabin despite the additional space. At the very least, would have liked to have seen some kind of seating feature to allow for being able to see out the window from a seated position. Anyway, great channel 👍

I do agree - seems strange to be calling it a mini suite - it does feel like a very luxurious oceanview room, but can appreciate your point! Also, thanks a million for the comment - every single one helps, and glad you enjoyed the video! :)
