I thought about the idea in the EA forum of having a similar festival playlist in a Need For Speed Hot Pursuit sequel of the game which will fit the play style that it already has. Hopefully they could add it.

For me, it's still amazing that there is people defending this game. It's one thing if that person likes it, there's nothing wrong with that. But even if that person likes it, he/she should realize the things wrong with this game. But I refer to the people arguing that this is without any doubt, the best racing game of 2023. I remember that Grid Autosport's campaign was also boring and repetitive as well. However, at least Autosport have different disciplines and you can finish them however you want. And the races in Autosport are full race sessions: Practice, QUALIFYING and the Race. And to be completely honest, it felt immersive. Something that the "built from the ground up" game, 9 years after the release of Grid Autosport, couldn't match in the slightest. And that's an issue, Forza Motorsport is a 7th gen game, promoted and selled as an 9th gen game

@@zacariascisneros6399 exactly. Grid autosport was also the only grid game I couldn't get myself to finish it despite owning it on multiple platforms. IMO as far as the grid series goes, grid 2008 was the best grid. Grid legends was surprisingly good. ( 2 campaigns , and campaign 1 was a blast , while 2 being grindy... all in all the second best grid for me , damage system is still bad though). Grid 2 was way too short and removed a lot of good things about grid while grid reboot was like the worst. The damage system was thrown out campaign was lacklustre. Grid autosport was fine I just felt the handling was a bit off for a grid game. Forza motorsport 2023 is no way built from the ground up. At max settings I see textures popping up and a lot of low resolution objects. The grass is bad ? I don't know it just doesn't look good. At launch the performance was terrible. I play on a 4070 and it was a new pc for me and I was baffled that I couldn't get this game to run on a solid 60fps ( this rig is way better and 2 generations newer than Xbox series x ! ). The graphical settings to this day are a mess. The car view mode for some of the cars look really bad. Lamborghini sesto elemento interior was like something from a ps3 game. I don't know how this got into a 2023 game. It took me 70 hours something to complete the entire campaign but it felt like I drove for 40 hours unnecessarily. It's because of the practice 3 laps before the race. Race followed by race was really refreshing after this ( can only be played on free play mode ). Coming from grid legends this was just a snooze test. That game had multi class races , elimination races , electric cars with boost events, drift events , touge races downhill, trucks and a lot more. Also fm 2023 doesnt even award you with cars ! Finish 5 or 6 championships in a series and you get one car. To play those you have to initially buy a car from that series and my god what a grind it was. I booted up fm for this week's championship series and found out I needed 300k to buy the car to compete. Well at this point , NO . I just deleted the game. I was seriously looking forward to this title since I don't want to buy a ps5 to try gt7. 3 Months since launch and it went stale. Another serious issue is fm getting awards. Seriously the crew motorfest is the best racing game of 2023 even though it's arcade. Hotwheels unleashed 2 is also a good game. Fm 2023 doesnt deserve any awards. The only thing it does right is the controller support and feel for a simcade racer.

For me, the best racing games are Driver San Francisco, TDU2, NFS MW 2005, Forza Horizon 3, and Midnight Club LA. GT4 and Forza M 4 seems to be amazing as well, but I never played them. There are a bunch more excellent games that I am not aware of. And those games came out about a decade ago. All these games are unique and do what they have to do extremely well. I wonder why there arent more of these games today. I wish I could play these games on new hardware. A remaster would be nice. Slightly better textures, maybe improve the AI and add a couple new cars, and re-launch them.

@@dr.sivavignesh664 I played Motorsport in Series S. And I know that in terms of power, the Series S is the weakest Xbox Series console. However, I played different games, and almost every game I've played looked better than Motorsport (Especially Forza Horizon 4, which was released almost 6 years ago on the Xbox One). And even if it's the version with the fastest loading times, it still feels freaking long for a 9th gen only game. - I've played different games that came before Motorsport, and of almost every game I can say something that ONLY that game has (even if I liked it or not). But Forza Motorsport, has nothing that can make it unique, not even its good things: Driving? Yes, it's good. But I also played sims, arcade racers and simcades that also drive great or better (RaceRoom, Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo 6, Burnout Paradise, etc) Cars selection? Yes, it's good. But Gran Turismo 6 had almost 1300 cars, and to an extent, were up to the date of the game's release. Even Forza Horizon 4 has more cars and a better selection than Motorsport '23 Menu music? at best, it's decent. But it's far from something that a Gran Turismo or even Shift 2 Unleashed can offer you. - Probably the GT fans have this game as the worst in the franchise (I highly disagree), but Gran Turismo 6 (even with all its flaws) in the PS3 gave me more fun and content than the "from the ground up" Forza Motorsport. And what was even worse, is that Motorsport'23 was my actual introduction to the Forza franchise, and I was disappointed. But I just thought "it's impossible every Forza game is as bad and soulless as Motorsport.". Then I played Horizon 4. Horizon 4 may not be the best racing game ever made, but hell, I felt this game was made with (some) love and care by the developer. Something that Forza Motorsport didn't show.

@@zacariascisneros6399 that's unfortunate, my first motorsport was 7 and that wasn't as bad as this. The handling was hard but at least it had a campaign. If you felt forza horizon 4 was made with love you should definitely play Forza horizon 2. In my eyes horizon 2 was the best. I still love everything about it. The setting , the music , races , car selection. I think it was perfect . It was my first forza game , yes I have to admit I didn't buy Xbox one to play forza , I bought it for quantum break but the delivery got delayed and forza horizon 2 arrived first. But I ended up playing horizon 2 non stop. Driveclub released the same time, I tried that first. Underrated game but driveclub was severely flawed. The tracks had invisible walls, handling was difficult and most cars were un drivable. But the effects it had for rain and environments are still unmatched. Reviewers praised rain effects in fm 2024 but no way better than driveclub.

Gravel has the best arcade physics I've ever felt

Beamng drive is heavily slept out on by casual Forza players. I know it is an simulator testing the crash body physics, but you can do a lot more rather than crashing

I think this is because the car manufacturers don’t expect too much on the mobile racers of the art style, presentation, sounds, and damage models of the cars because of the limited capabilities of the technology you can do with the car. Therefore, could mean less restrictions on the licensing aside. Edit: this goes to show that mobile racers like Asphalt don’t put that much effort on the cars when just looking at it and the details themselves. Whereas games like Gran Turismo is the complete opposite.

Its not that motorfest didnt have its own share of big problems. Beginning with the always online architecture, the fact that effectively you are not buying your game but just renting, as it will become unavailable to play after a time, just as we have seen with the first Crew. Handling is not as good as in Forza (though in some places like off-road, cars do behave a little bit more believable). Oh and it also builds much of its content on FOMO. So yeah, its not better than Forza imo.

@@horvathr95 I have to agree that I hate the idea of this being a live service and online only game. My first impression of the game was really bad. The servers were under maintenance for 2 hours. The exact time at which I bought , installed and tried to run the game. I really don't buy anything that has to be online ( another reason I pirate games , if buying doesn't give you a better experience I don't see anything wrong with pirating. If I pay for a game I should be allowed to access it irrespective of my internet connection, no questions asked ). This game had positive reviews and it was 12 to 14 dollars on epic store. At that price I think the purchase was justified. The handling isn't as diverse as a forza game agreed but the vehicle selection and playlist variety were really a breath of fresh air. I'm not saying it doesn't have its problems. I still hate that we cannot change the time of the day in this game. Opponent AI don't even seem to be aware of adjacent cars. But all in all it took me 45 hours to complete all playlists and I really enjoyed the 45 hours. At this point I would say I had my moneys worth. I still don't support that this has to be always online to just play the single player mode. They should offer an offline mode for this.

All the new cars added to the game are available for purchase, the only ones that can't be bought are special edition cars and vanity stuffs that don't really matter. Unlike Horizon 5 that gates half of their roster behind dull weekly chores. And I don't think anyone here is deluding themselves that Motorfest is better than Forza, it's just that there are elements that are much more enjoyable for people who are tired of Forza.

I jumped off Forza during FM7, but I'm glad Gran Turismo 7 is doing great now. Though I do admit Forza Motorsport's online racing is up there

Exactly! The idea in concept, when shared with the affinity system, is actually not a bad idea. It’s the execution which is blatantly predatory and designed to artificially lengthen your playtime with the game, not build a relationship with your cars as it’s marketed.

@@ultraviolet_channelIt doesn't make any sense whatsoever. All it does is timegate a basic feature that was free to use in older predating titles. There's no reason why basic features need to be locked behind a time sink. It's manipulative, and wrong.

Keep the levels for the cars for all I care, replace the car points with money and bring back the brand affinity. That should be possible at the very least...

I'm not really a fan of the Gamepass. But it saved me a lot of money last year in particular. I only use it to test games from time to time. That's the best thing you can do since there are hardly any demos anymore. And if I like a game, I buy it.

I started with Forza Motorsport 6 apex/Horizon 3 on my PC back in 2016 and put over 300 hours in combine with both games and I had a blast with them! But as the years went on with newer Forza titles I noticed there was a downgrade trend of getting everything by just breathing and a single player campaign that had no thrill at all and there was no reason to do them outside of just a completion. That killed all my interests what I have with the new Forza games because there is no challenge at all or to be better at the game for earning the things you so desire. Also the sense of speed is fucking trash in FH5/FM8, playing FM4/FH1 on the 360 and going over 320km/h really was scary and fucking amazing how fast you are going!

Nah Forza Horizon 5 isn’t half baked now from what it used to be thanks to the new devs and leadership we got last year.

The Team are Happy (while they were clearly burned out and demoralised under Brown) once again, many of the new Faces *clearly* know what they are doing as Developers, Torben is clearly an actual Gamer, not a Corporate Suit like Brown (and Esaki..), and has proven himself to a good safe pair of Hands for Horizon, it feels like a Passion Project again, if one still *very* Held back by Several Mike Brown Era Issues such as the use of FOMO (which I hope is Scrapped for FH6 in exchange for a full Return to Paid DLC for New to Forza Cars and Straight to Autoshow for Returning Cars, as some of the Latest Updates do hint to a Possible return to that Model) and the Awful main map (however, Rally Adventure shows much more commitment to great Driving and Racing Experience that I hope is used to Guide FH6) , it has improved Tremendously However, Agreed!

Yup, as much as I disliked Motorfest due to its Presentation being something of a Sensory overload, even I can tell that it was the *actual* Racing Game of the Year! The Game-Awards were a Fix! "Fixed from the Ground Up!"

@simeonyves5940 it does give me hope though, now that Mike is gone, and that they realized how horrible of a decision it was to focus on a battle royal game with cars, hopefully focusing on... I don't know, maybe the CARS aspect of a CAR game, especially at designing the map

@@murderergod6645 Given that they have clearly (and thankfully) very probably Scrapped the "Duoliminator" Update, and the Eliminator itself is now only in Playlist once a Month rather than in all Four Weeks, I think the Team (who clearly were not Happy working for Brown, look at the Early Streams! they are clearly, and Tragically, utterly Demoralized and thoroughly burned out.. Look how much Happier they are in the Latest Streams compared now they have a decent Boss! ) have well and truly realized that Brown was Unsuited for team leader and that focusing on Eliminator to such a Point the rest of the Game (Roads, Races, Festival) all feel like they were tacked on right at the end when someone with half a Brain at Microsoft Realized that all the things that make a Horizon Game a Horizon Game were Missing, was a Gross Error and then some! Indeed, FH6 needs to look a lot more towards Motorfest (as much as I personally dislike Motorfest) in some ways, such as the Clear and Open love for *Cars* , and designing the Map around the Cars by building the Roads in a Vertical, Challenging Environment to Force the use of the Roads, and Designing the Road Layout to not only be Logical and Built around Providing good Course Layouts (like FH1-4's Layouts, and Motorfests) but also with Roads clearly designed to Complement various Car Types, Wide Open Highways for Hypercars, Fast Sweeping Coastal Roads for GT Cars, Flowing, but Tight and Challenging, Rural Back Roads for Classics and Sports Cars, Urban Runs in Both a Modern City, and Pretty, Old, little Towns for Hot Hatchbacks, Mad Mountain Roads that look like a Piece of Dropped Spaghetti for Japanese Drift Masters, etc. Etc. Indeed, Cars *First* , Fripperies later.. And No Eliminator at all! They also need to return to Europe, we need a Stunning, Gorgeous, Vibrant, Alive, and Modern Setting again as a Palette Cleanser from Mexico, and its Dry, Dead, Rusty, Filthy Dirty, Ancient, Abandoned, "Post Dalek Invasion of 1964" , Depressing Nonsense!

Although 2023 was the best year for gaming.

I will keep an eye on TDU from a distance for now. The whole live service/ always online stuff in connection with the fact that it will probably only be multiplayer has really dampened my excitement.

Torben Ellert has really turned FH5 around since he took over, it still has a Lot of issues due to having such a weak basis "thanks" to the utter Incompetence of Mike Brown, and Microsofts insistence on using FOMO to push Gamepass :(, but Torben has pulled a Blinder in taking a clearly Demoralised and Burnt Out Team, getting them back on their Feet, and turning the Game around from absolute Train Wreck, to a pretty good Game! It does feel like Horizon is in safe hands again (Maybe because he is, in being a "Gallifreyan Timelord pretending to be a 1970s English Bohemian" Level (Yes, Tom Baker Shoutout) "odd" clearly an actual Gamer, while Mike Brown, with his fake Vegas Smile and constant Litany of Buzzwords, Marketing Spiel and Flavour Text, was, like Chris Esaki, clearly a Corporate Suit pining for its Chair in the Boardroom!) now, so I have a little hope for FH6! So long as Torben had the good Sense to *Scrap* Browns Inevitable "FH4.7- Forknife with Cars 2, Politikal Elektrik Boogaloo- FOMO to the Max Edition!" "vision" for FH6 and start again from Scratch with something more in line with FH2/3 (a Return to 1 becoming Impossible when MS mandated a PEGI 3/ESRB E Rating for all Future Forza Games in 2019) , FH6 could, Possibly, be a Return to form! What I will say is, as much as I Disliked Motorfest (the Glitchwave stuff and the constant colour Bombardment, it was too much Sensory Overload for me (being on the Spectrum is not fun! believe me!) , and I did not like, at all, all the Unnecessary Profanity and Blasphemy in the Dialogue, hey, it upsets me, I do not hide my Faith (Reformed Christian), and it is so Disappointing as Motorfest could, and should, have been a 3/E, all Ubisoft had to do was Reign Ivory Tower in a Bit!) I do hope that FH6 copies what Motorfest did get oh so Right! The Festival! Enormous main Festival Site that you can see from miles away, all Races Marked with Massive Balloons that dot the Sky, DJ Booths at all Startlines like FH1, Billboards, Titantrons, Graffiti , the Festivals Presence all over the Place in the Open World, You know make the Festival a *Character in its own right* like Motorfest did, not clearly just tacked on at the last Second as Legacy Feature like in FH5!. Copy the Map Design too, Built around the Racing and Driving Experiences, with Different Roads aimed at Different Types of Cars (Big Highways for Hypercars, Sweeping Coastal Roads for GT's, Urban Runs in both Modern Cities and Small, old, Pretty towns for Hot Hatchbacks, Mad Mountain Passes for Japanese Drift Masters, etc etc) so the map feels alive, real, and built for Racing, not Forknife with Cars! As well as those *epic* Car sounds! Wooo, even the *EV's* sound good in that Game! I just hope, however, that they use a Graphics Engine that actually *works* , even if it means holding the Game back here and there by using the Current FH2-5 Engine again!

In my eyes, the foundation that Mike Brown had built was simply unsalvageable. Starting with the barren wasteland of a map, the weak single player/story, progression, economy etc... I will definitely not be pre-ordering Horizon 6 again. I'll wait for real gameplay videos that don't gloss over anything. I no longer trust the games magazines when it comes to Horizon, because they have portrayed Horizon 5 as the best thing since the invention of sliced bread. Without exception...

That's how I feel playing the new Forza games as there is no challenge at all when earning money and getting the cars what you want at all... There was no point playing the game better if I can get an Agera R in less than an hour of gameplay. Playing FH1 last year due to how fed up with the modern Forza games really shows how the developers give fuck all to single player content and a purpose to do so. Being handed free wins isn't fun, it's boring.
