Alberto Pizzoli Architect - Verona
The modern residence designed by architect Alberto Pizzoli is immersed in the Veronese countryside, surrounded by orchards and cultivated fields.
The patio house has a very interesting detail, namely the cement that covers the walls has a yellow shade and this warm shade takes away weight from the cement as it is perceived as a natural surface, almost like a stone and, this camouflage effect that is generated , works very well in contrast with plants. The effect desired by the architect is achieved with concrete cast inside formwork covered in OSB and the camouflage effect occurs thanks to the printing of these chiaroscuro created by the shavings of the wooden panels.
The interior design features warm tones, with soft and refined colours. Every room in the living area overlooks the patio thanks to the large windows and to increase the feeling of space there is no separating wall between the dining area, the kitchen and the living room.
Particular attention was also given to the swimming pool. In addition to the alignment with the covered porch, the stones of the edge of the swimming pool are laid dry on feet also made of stone and the effect obtained, especially looking at the south wall, is an effect of lightness where it seems that the sundress floats above the water.
The western wall that divides the driveway has slits of about 15 cm between one column and another which, in addition to giving rhythm to this long element, allow the area to circulate within the patio.
It was important to give a background to the view of this patio and therefore the idea was to work with the central part completely free, therefore simply with grass, and then animate the flowerbeds that run along the entire perimeter of the patio with a composition varies to create the effect of an oasis of peace and escape from everyday life.
