Agreed. They do their jobs, but they also keep in mind that each case is unique and that there can be extenuating and/or mitigating circumstances. The argument could also be made here that there is no feasible way that a driver could possibly react (or at least not *_SAFELY_* react) within *three tenths of a second* to a light changing from yellow to red. It was clear that the young woman here was not willfully violating the law, and if anything she was obeying the speed limit even when most people would have sped up to avoid the red light, and as such showed that she is a very safe driver who actively tries to avoid endangering herself or others, either directly or indirectly, even when she just wants to get home after a long day of study. And as Doctor Fate states in Injustice 2 in one of his pre-fight quotes to Regime Superman: *"Justice is **_blind_** , not heartless."* Which is an apt description of Judge Caprio and his son here. The world would only benefit from more people like these two men. And Judge Caprio is spot-on with his remark of how *"Everything begins with the family unit, it's the basic unit of society."* as kids who come from a stable and loving family unit tend to be the most respectful and compassionate people.
@@gamester512 no she couldn’t react that fast but that’s why lights go amber before red to allow people unable to stop safely to go through and those far enough back to notice the light is about to go red and slow down, she got very lucky here even tho I don’t think she deserved to get a fine. kind of crazy to me how America has cameras to catch people for this, your government and local councils will really do anything to make sure they get their money.
@@gamester512 Yellow means stop, the only time you should run a yellow is if you don't have time to stop. If you drive like you should and the timers are set correctly you should have time to exit the intersection before it turns red. If everyone followed this intersections would be a lot safer obviously, but also a lot more efficient because they could remove some of the time everyone has a red light. She could and she should have stopped. I think she does deserves the fine but I'm not upset that she didn't get it, if she had properly ran the red light then she deserves a hefty fine because that's reckless as hell.
@@volundrfrey896 No, Yellow means slow down. Red means stop. She did nothing wrong here, especially since as Judge Caprio's son pointed out, her trying to stop for the light at that point could have been _more_ dangerous than to just keep going. If she were really a "dangerous" driver, she would have tried to speed up to beat the red light, but she didn't. Also, don't forget that it was raining hard that night, meaning the wet roads were also a potential hazard had she tried to suddenly speed up or stop, as it could have caused her car to begin hydroplaning.
Father God I pray for Judge Caprio and he truly has a heart of gold! I pray and hope he knows you as Lord and Savior of his life. I pray for healing for this man. I ask that you heal him Father God I ask in the name of Jesus heal this kind hearted man! In Jesus name I pray Amen.
@@ilovemusic6794 You did not have to take the original comment literally. Let's hope for competent medical staff, the judges immune system, helpful insurance, and some good luck.
"Everything begins with the family unit - it's the basic unit of society" So well said! If only more people could hear this message and understand this truth! I love that Judge Caprio praises the positive parental role models that appear in his courtroom!!!
I try hard to build my own family so that I can say the same and say that they're the most important thing to me, because I feel like I was always missed that opportunity. I hope I can get to say that at some point.
This is an amazing episode. As A trucker I can attest to two major things here. as a motorist we are supposed to recognize a green light will turn to Red and to slow down , and that almost all yellow lights in the nation are NOT standardized. This judge is a very fair man. I rightly do believe that our country needs to come up with a Universal traffic light standard. 3 or 4 second duration yellow. Once the direction turns RED. it needs a 5-6 second delay for turning green on the other direction. That way it actually protects lives.
In Germany, the yellow Phase should be 5 seconds. Surprisingly most of the lights where cameras are installed, the yellow phase is only 3 seconds or even less. What a coincidence…
Here in The Netherlands it's a bit more complicated. I guess the Dutch are traffic nerds. We undoubtedly have more than enough red light. But it begins with the yellow light. It should have a duration depending on the speed limit. At higher speeds it takes a longer distance and time to come to a stop. Then, it depends on the next traffic flow in the sequence. They should not be able to cross the zone of the flow which just had started the red phase. Between all of this, there is some extra red as well, for obvious safety reasons. All of this is first year of the Traffic study. Later on things can become more complicated. Like, for example, programming traffic lights. (Which requires commands which reminded me of the BASIC computer language on the Commodore 64 my parents had, something like 35-40 years ago.)
In the UK there is amber an flashing amber. Amber occur before a red light you are not supposed to go though unless not safe to stop. Flashing amber occur after a red light on certain pedestrian crossings. You can proceed if clear. The timing are standardised but the length of the red/green is based on traffic analysis. Though I think there are minimum lengths for pedestrian crossings.
I noticed where I live the duration seems to depend on the speed limit. Yellows in a 25 mph zone are short. Yellows on the 65 mph freeway are longer and have a warning signal to give extra time to respond.
@@getinthespace7715 what qualifies as a freeway? I sometimes get confused with the terminology stateside since each state uses slightly different different terms. A motorway itself wouldn't have conventional lights as you wouldn't have conventional junctions and it would be 70mph for cars less for trucks and trailers. However a motorway might end and become a dual carriageway. We might have multi lane roads with lights, junctions and roundabouts but we wouldn't call this a motorway. Motorway have slip lanes and over/underpass. There might be lights and roundabouts on these connections to and from but not on them. The exception would be roadworks where there is a temporary diversion as this is no longer a motorway but using some of the lanes.
She'll never again go through a red light because she was treated with respect by the judge and a good impression of the law was given to her that she will remember as a positive for the rest of her life. That's how it should be done..
He made court so approachable for people. It is usually a place for fear and difficulty. He was a gift to the citizens. Prayers for his Honor and the family.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I had a good cry because this kind hearted, beautiful human being is going through medical hardship. DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, if it be YOUR will, please cure this Servant of the People so he can continue to do your work!
Judge Caprio is a wonderful man. As of 12/28/23 His Honor has pancreatic cancer. And so, I request all who read this, please say prayers for his full return to health. His Honor is most deserving of your prayers, please.
I ran a redlight in my dads car and went to court! talked to the judge and it went very similarily to this video. Judge was amazed I took responsibiliy and didn't make my dad come into court. Gave me some more time to pay off the ticket and was a super good experience
I love his show and his compassion for those before him. Always in my prayers for your health and prayers for you and your family in this difficult time.
So you want people to be in North Korean prison instead in Bahamas? If you don´t understand it means Earth and heaven which is billion times better, heaven avoider.

Judge Caprio is a very fair and wise man. I love watching him on this youtube channel. If every man could be like him, the world could be a better place.
I wish he was appointed our US Chief Justice, he's the most intelligent, humanitarian, gracious person & his family is BEAUTIFUL precisely like him. My three kids ❤him, and they're always cynical, because they all are lobbyists in DC, yet they watch him daily & send me the videos. I watched the video years ago & now I'm hooked, even my peers, colleagues, and friends all ❤him. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If god was real the world wouldn´t need people like him, all people would be good. Also why you don´t want this man to be rewarded with heaven, are you a satanist?
Rip judge Caprio.. UR kindness has made me take a second look from me being raised to love equally but now can also love without prejudice. Hope people can and the next judge can fill ur shoes and that ur work has to be immortalized through a true film
