My aunt told me she use to work with this guy in Houston at a bank. She was telling me how much of great guy he is. She told me she would go to lunch with him sometimes with my mom. I remember they both went to his funeral. Paul Broussard may you R.I.P.
I worked with Paul, also. He took over my department when it was transferred from Austin to Houston. He was so nice, intelligent, and just an amazing guy. He was one of my favorite co-workers of all time. Less than 6 months after I spent a work week with him, he was gone.
I wonder if any of them knew transsexual and ACT UP activist, Leslie Perez. I have her book 'Dangerous Games.' I also remember a documentary that came on HBO, I think, called 'Being Homosexual' where people would drive up and down Westheimer Rd. trying to run over gay people. I think they were mostly religious zealots. I wish I could see that doc again. It came on around 1983 or 84.
Wow. Interesting story. I lived in Montrose area for two years when I was in college. What a vibrant artistic bohemian community! Too bad this murder occurred in such a lively cultural center of H-town.
