"What the hell was that?" describes the most important thing: They have their own style that cannot be classified, somewhere between hard rock and metal. Creating your own sound is extremely difficult, but the three of them did it. That shows how good they are. The drummer Pau(lina) is also the second singer. She also uses the emotionality she needs for singing for drumming. That makes she the show within the show.
That is definitely an old school classic rock sound. This is the first band I've been interested in for the last 40 years. The four recent live session videos (Evolve, Choke, Animosity, Z) will give you a good impression of who and what they are (and they won't get blocked).

These 3 sisters are in the rock genre. They play all types of rock and I would class them as hard rock. It's easy to know who is the musician and who is the jerk haha. Love Ronnie in the pictures behind. Pau, the drummer is 20 years old, Dany, the singer and guitarist is 22 and Ale the bass player is 17 years old. They write all their own songs and just recently opened for the Foo Fighters on March 15th. Choke, Animosity are great songs to continue with. I think blonde will appreciate them more. Most of what I might share has been shared in comments already. If you can’t tell, The Warning has a passionate fan base with many going back years who discovered them when they were very young. Can women rock? Why is that even a question after watching Evolve? What you should do now is watch them play it live. There are plenty of fan recordings on RU-vid as they are currently on tour. In fact, watch anything they play live because that is where they truly shine. No skimpy outfits. No auto tuned vocals. No dancers on stage. This IS rock as a throwback in some ways but with innovative breaks from the norm in other ways and their lyrics are often dark, poetic and hold a mirror to present day society. I forget how many original songs they’re up to but it’s well over 40. They aren’t new, they’re just new to a world used to hearing what a label wants to package and then make you to hear.

The Warning are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 17) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 20) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 22) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band. They had been uploading their musical journey to RU-vid for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. USA. They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues. In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever! So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on RU-vid and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star. On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica ablum. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song... Hello there and Welcome to The Warning! Since you called them cute, why not check out the cover of Enter Sandman they did ... 8 years ago! And while you're at it, do a double feature with their new and heavily modified cover of that song they did last year for Metallica's Blacklist album. Not many reactors have done that so far but imo it really shows how they progressed over the years. It's best to react to live videos gets blocked less. It's 90 style rock. I don't skip over any of their songs all of their songs are good. I like songs mostly because of the lyrics and all of their songs have great meaning. My favorite song is Black Holes from their 1st album. Pau wrote it when she was 12 or 13 years old.
Hello! So... which one of you is the musician?😁 Daniela Villarreal, guitarist and principal lead singer, refers to their music as "pure rock", so there you have it! Definitely a great song to introduce you to this phenomenal power trio. The Warning is three sisters, Daniela, Paulina on drums, and Alejandra on bass guitar. All three also were classically trained on piano at a very young age. They recently opened for the Foo Fighters in Mexico City, and are currently on tour across the US and Canada. They will also be opening for Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless on their tour this summer, as well as being featured in several festivals and opening for Stone Temple Pilots in St. John's, NL, Canada. There’s a lot of great music from The Warning. From their more recent work, I like Choke, Disciple, Martirio, Narcissista, and Evolve. From their slightly older work, I recommend Dust to Dust, Crimson Queen, and Survive.
Hard rock is about the closest you can get with a genre to fit them in. And it's true but they are influenced by punk, grunge, metal and others. Quick bio - all 3 sisters are classically trained on piano. They got the video game Rockband when Ale (bass) was still too young to play (3-ish). This inspired both 6 year old Pau (drums) and 8 year old Dany (lead guitar) to take formal training not long after with Ale following shortly behind. They started putting vids up on youtube so the grandparents could watch their progress and their cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman went viral. This got them noticed by Ellen Degeneres who invited them on her show where she gifted them with 10,000 dollars each to attend a 5 week summer program at the Berklee college of music. They have independently released an EP and two LPs (the second being a concept album) with funding from Kickstarter and Patreon. They have refused many offers from major record labels (including Disney) and recently signed with Lava after 7 months of negotiations. Covid caused the delay then cancellation of their first major US tour a week before kicking off. They used that time to make a third album and a re-imagining of Enter Sandman with Grammy winner Alessia Cara which is the first track on Metallica's Blacklist album. Currently on tour in N. America, they were invited by Lizzy Hale to join her tour when theirs is finished.

Yes, Hard Rock! What is so hard with just calling it Hard Rock? It's harder than Rock, but not Metal. Everybody now days want to try and pigeon hole every band into narrow and very specific genre. Just call it Hard Rock and go on to the next song. Love these young ladies!
I was laughing when you were struggling to find a genre in which to pigeon-hole them. A lot of people have the same problem. They take a foundation of old-school rock and inject a lot of other diverse influences. All of their songs sound different, listening to a new song from them is an adventure because you never know what is coming. If you prefer all your music to fit neatly into some narrow genre, this group is probably not for you. But if you are open to hard driving , almost old-school rock-'n-roll with a lot of variety thrown in, you will love them. Don't be fooled by the all female lineup in this band. They are unlike any other "girl group" you have ever heard.

Fabulous 1st time reaction to The Warning! The Villarreal sisters are amazing songwriters and performers. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight for her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI Century Blood", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "Escape the Mind"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called Mayday. "Disciple" is my favorite track. The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 22, 20 and 17 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves! The oldest, Dany (Daniela) plays guitar, keyboards, lead vocals on 75% of their songs, backing harmonies. Pau (Paulina) plays drums, keyboards, lead vocals on 25% of their songs, backing harmonies. Ale` (Alejandra) plays bass, keyboards, backing harmonies. The drummer Pau begins writing around 75% of their songs. In her songs, she starts with a concept, then works on chord progressions and basic song structure on piano while adding lyrics. She then brings it before her sisters and together they transpose each individual instrument's part; making changes along the way. They also complete the lyrics together; since Pau may only bring one verse and a chorus. All 3 must unanimously approve of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Nothing is set in stone until it makes it through the gauntlet. Pau has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both Dany and Ale` write equally great songs; just not as many. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. I hope you get to see them LIVE soon. Who/what are you people? And, no, the song doesn't sound like anything you've heard before. They're "sound classification" is hard rock, although this particular tune has elements of punk, as well.
This video got a different footage style, because it was recorded using only a bunch of iPhones and a drone for the flying clip. The producer being artsy and trying out new ways to do it. All their music videos seems to have their own style, so it change a lot from song to song
No need to add a label to it...it is The Warning. They are true to their own sound and live in the world of Rock. They are all highly-trained musicians. If you think the video sounds great, then you will be blown away by their live shows. They all can sing, but Dany takes lead on 90% of the songs. Pau is a great emotional singer and is the chief songwriter. You should check them out on Disciple. We just caught them in Austin and it was a great concert. Now we are planning to see them with Halestorm in San Antonio.

This video was shot with 13 IPhones, hence the angles. The harmonies are what I call natural harmonies, since they are sisters. They are currently on tour in the U.S. They recently opened for the Foo Fighters. I suggest their new release, "Money." It's the studio track over their live performance opening for the Foo Fighters.

"What was that?" It was unique. Metal plus rock plus hard rock plus grunge plus elements of classical and jazz, holding up a lyrical message that actually has a point for once, unlike so much "music" being recorded since 2000. It was The Warning. They are their own genre.
Fun Fact: Don't know if this was covered or not, but the whole video was shot in a local car dealership with 16 iPhones and a video drone (after the background turns red). What's more amazing is when you realize the bass player, the youngest of the three sisters, is only 17!!! Saw them live this past summer. These ladies are amazing! 😁
