Good video. Hope to get out to do first tests today (daylight alignment) on the sun and tonight tracking stars using the 400mm f/4.5 z lens

Thanks for your comment. I wish you much success today. Could you give me feedback on how the lens worked in combination with the tracker?

@dawa5581 daylight alignment worked great. I didi not have a solar filter but I put the Z9 with a 70-200mm Z lens on the nomad. IT ran fine. The 400mm f/4.5 Z lens weighs a half pound less, so I anticipate it will be great.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am just wondering would you get the same less noise results if you use the noise reduction slider in Lightroom? . So what I understand is that with a tracker you can increase your exposure time to minimize star trails . Is there more benefits with a star tracker … just asking for a friend 😝😉

Thanks for your comment. 👍 I find that this function in Lightroom doesn't work 100% well with Astro and sometimes makes some small stars disappear because it thinks it's noise too. It is always better to expose for longer at a lower ISO than to correct a high ISO later. I hope this answers the question for your friend.😉 Maybe my astro video on the Samyang 14mm is also good for this question. There you can see exactly the difference between a tracked and untracked image with the same aperture. Btw. very nice videos on your channel. 👍

@@dawa5581just put the video on my playlist. Very helpful video👌🏼 in the passt I definitely raised my iso to high , next approach will be to start with a low iso and longer exposure time 👍🏼

I’m using a manfrotto element II tripod. But you can use this tracker also with a cheap €40 tripod.

How does this compare to the mechanical Omegon?

What problems did you have that you needed help from msm??
@dawa5581

I thought that the Nomad tracker was not working properly, but MSM has great support and showed me how to test it properly and then everything was fine again.

Forget the 500 rule, it's rubbish with today's digital sensors
@dawa5581
@dawa5581 Месяц назад
Thank you for your comment. That's not true. You need the 500 rule if you don't use a tracker, otherwise the stars become lines.
@karlratcliff1205
@karlratcliff1205 Месяц назад
@@dawa5581 my 20mm lens on a full frame camera requires a shutter speed of 10 secs serious trailing begins, even then I see elongation of the stars. That shutter speed is far less than the 25 secs calculated using the 500 rule. The NPF rule which is much more accurate says 6.5 secs which is roughly 1/4 of the shutter speed using the 500 rule.

That's without a tracker
