A mysterious building, ruins and a 1600s river ford. Amazing walk through time.

With Scotland still in a Covid-19 lockdown, we are only allowed out for essential reasons and exercise. I went for a walk just four miles from home, but this was the first time I had been to this river. I found some mysterious ruins, a very spooky building and visited a 400 year old river ford which is still in use. I was also looking for ancient stepping stones.

It's so good to see you again. This trip was worth it just because of that building with the white plastic chair. Thank you for taking us with you!

great walk Scott. those trees along the way were way cool AND that pump house would be the perfect place to be on a hot day. maybe they will lift some of the restrictions sooner than later. ATB

The curious object looked like an insulator/isolator for where electricity runs from the pole to the house or an electric fence. WW2 era? I was busy oohing an aahing at the fishing spots I kept seeing! Lol.

The tree in the brick roofless building started as a young lad when the roof was on and a berak of it in the middle.Probably a branch from the mother tree broke a hole in the roof.(kind of her for the young one). Then the little tree sent top branches to the hole and got fatter. The roof finally disappeared leaving the form of struggle for light in the grown up young tree. An epic struggle for life with a nice ending. I hope other future people respect this icon of life's intrinsic force(consciousness?you betcha).

Probably a bad time of the year to be looking for a water crossing. There is always more water in the spring from melting snow in the North. At least it's like that here where I live.

The old pump house, the square to the left of the door is a bread oven, seen the same in Somerset.

Hi. You said, ``If you see anything shout out''. Well, I did and I shouted as loud as I could from here in Dudley in the West Midlands but apparently you did not hear. My fault I think as I later realised that I was facing south at the time.

I'm amazed the UK still has the covid restrictions, here in New Zealand it is basically still a free country though it is suggested that a mask should be worn on public transport and Auckland has introduced a week of social distancing (which is largely ignored)

You're an island and probably have restricted INCOMING like other countries didn't do. You were smart and others were very dumb. There wouldn't of had to have been a lockdown if they would have halted air traffic in and out of other countries. We have learned a hell of a lesson from this huge mistake.
