ABANDONED SHIPS / BOAT GRAVEYARD - Bowling Harbour at low tide

A visit to the Bowling Harbour boat graveyard had been on my 'to do' list for far too long, so it was time to explore these abandoned ships at low tide. One ship in particular I really wanted to board, and although it could be done, common sense told me of the dangers involved.

2:24 that propeller would make a nice boot scraper outside the front door.

Im glad to see you made the wise decision to stay off the wreck. After your observation of of the gulls "clear off" warning, one could clearly be heard as if saying "go,go,go". Fantastic video and so much fun. Take care.

That was compelling viewing, thanks. Some of the images of the remains of the boats were amazing. And with your outfit, the opening scenes of working a path through the vegetation made me think of soldiers in the Burmese jungle!

I'm also glad you finally went there. I must have gone by there hundreds of times back when I lived in the Vale of Leven and always wondered what it was like close up. Now I have a much better idea so thanks for that!

That mud sure looks like it pongs a bit. The other riders of your route home likely thank you for your common sense! An interesting place, and I hadn’t realized old boats are just towed somewhere and left to rot. I bet the animals and birds have reclaimed them.

I noticed all of the Buddleia on the shoreline (butterfly bush). I wonder who planted it. I've never seen it in the wild, just at garden centers for sale or seeds.

At the end of the day I don’t think that there would be much to see any how .plus it would have been extremely dangerous with all that rusty metal.

Why aren't the people that left these boats here made to clean them up? Your country sure has a lot of pollution just being left to rot and rust away and to pollute the environment. I don't understand it. Scott, I don't want you to do foolish things like try to get onto that ship. You need to have someone with you in case something untoward happens. A cell phone with available service in that area, a rope to tie to something on the shoreline so you would have something to get you back to shore, etc....I can't watch if you decide to traverse your way through that muck.
