Thank you -- yes, I really liked that color, but I was hoping for a plain toe version of it. It seems like it's really difficult to find a plain toe version of that navy color. I've also considered the spruce kudu boot, but it always sells out so fast in my size.
Thank you for your video! These Crepe soles are good for nothing but comfort and nice weather. They don't hold up very well in bad weather - they slip a lot on wet surfaces.
I like the Crepe soles. It is the only sole I find comfortable on the Leo last. Some say they wear quick but I’m not finding that. Don’t think they would be considered light though.
Thank you for another review! Actually, this boot is not a 360° welt but a 270° welt with a heel rand (pre?)stitched to make it "look" like a 360° welt. It you look closer, you will see welt and joins on both sides of the boots. Why Alden do it is beyond me (270° welted boots look much cleaner without that extra stitching around the heel), but this is not the first makeup I see it on.
That's perfectly normal, you don't check for those things until you know they exist (and they are not very much advertised really). It took me a while to figure out this trick on one of my pairs, but now with a trained eye I can spot it from afar 🙂 Anyway, congratulations with a nice new pair for less than half a retail price!
Ha! That's exactly how I felt about the price. No regrets. I look forward to finding out if these really are good for bad weather. I'll probably go with a Dainite sole if I ever need to resole them.
