That was a bad day for rugby. I'm not usually one to hammer on the refereeing. But on that day, it clearly was a travesty that the ref blew SA out of the tournament. They were on form, and had a good record against the All Blacks at the time, and it would have made for a fantastic final between them and the All Blacks. Instead it was an easy win for the All Blacks against Australia.
Actually no one in NZ wanted Aussie in the semi as would've been easier victory for All Blacks V Bokkes. Wallabies won the tri nations that year. We destroyed the Bokkes that year 40-7.
For all time bokke fans cry over the refs. It's pathetic really. Also this was a quarter final. You would have been beaten easily by the all blacks next match

@@west1329 I noticed you failed to mention how Joubert (the SA ref) missed the eye gouge on Richie McCaw that should've seen Aurelien Rougerie Sent off. But yeah, u keep whinging about Bryce Lawrence and a game from 10 years ago🙄
Bryce Lawrence is New Zealand's best ever player. whatever was going to happen in this match, he knew Australia would win because he would do whatever needs to be done to make that happen. They should be permanently banned from international rugby!
One of the worst reffing performances in rugby history. Not into conspiracy theories, but this definitely looked fixed. Reffing in the final wasn't good either.
These highlights don't tell the full story - Bokkies absolutely dominated this game ("It's hand on hips Australia, hands on heads...they are super rattled!") - Steyn did miss two (difficult though) kicks though. Bryce really ref'd this one badly.
Why do you think the ref, Bryce Lawrence never reffed again after this game! Please do research on this game and google " Get those Jarpies", "Teach Those Jarpies a lesson"
So why didn't Craig Joubert remember this when he was refereeing Scotland and Australia at the 2015 Rugby World Cup Quarter Final. I would had made Scotland win if I was him.
All the SA media saying All Blacks wanted Australia in the semi instead of Aussie but really everyone here in NZ was hoping for the Bokkes in the semi, as would've been a much easier road to the final 😂😂 Pocock absolutely destroyed Bokkes at the ruck that day.
@@Jordan-ws6jy Trust me the boks would have pushed you all the way in that semi final. I didn't even watch it because I knew it was a forgone conclusion. The aussies were shiite if it wasn't for Pocock they wouldn't have got to that semi final. Never mind that useless referee
SA would have walked over NZ. This era of Springbok rugby we dominated the world and Super Rugby. So much so that the playbook makers decided the rules must be changed to suit NZ.
@@kalaharikreef7371 don't know what world you are living in. True South African teams were doing well in super rugby but it was hardly Domination. The rule changes for 2009 were absolutely perfect for how South Africa played and not great for anyone else, or rugby in general. You can't call them Dominant, if they were, this match wouldn't have been so close
Lol the bokke salt in these comments. I love the springboks as a Rugby team, so much talent, fantastic physicality and aggressive playstyle. The fans are the biggest mugs - right up there with the Welsh and Irish.
