It's on the books my friend! I'll be clearing out my shop in a couple of weeks and putting my machines in storage at a friend's place, then moving them into their new home October 1. I only have to do that because my old and new houses are closing the same day, so I don't have a choice on that.
BTW - yes, me again, that pneumatic (which means air operated, just so you know) collet is awesome. For some reason my first thought was 'how can I use that for a power draw bar?' no doubt because a power drawbar is a current project. Anyways, very neat! Cheers Arty Hero, Michael 🇦🇺
Hi Staurt - I have an assortment of those collets and a chuck that came with my South Bend 10K lathe lathe I bought several years ago. Some of the collets are made by Hardinge.
You can't just tease a tool nerd like me by telling me you have a cool and unique chuck. You have to send a picture or two. What's the mechanism for closing it? A nut? Lever? (Gasp, could it be...) A cam?
Really seems like an interesting component, it's a shame it's not a more typical taper. If it was 5c, I can think of three or four different ways it would be useful in a home shop though obviously it's real home is in a production line.

Do you need any collets for that? I buy a lot of lots online, I don't own any brown and sharp tapers machines, but I have three or four of those collets, I had actually thought they were some quick connect system like Jahrl, they've just been bouncing around in the drawer, no use to me whatsoever
