A garden hint for the future: Bring newspapers with you. You can slide sheets up under dried herbs or lay beside not so dried herbs. Wrap around your harvest and fold up. This will save all your leaves and seeds without any mess.

I totally understand gardening for your mental health. While I was caring for my mother in her last stages of cancer and dementia, I needed a place to decompress. My garden became my sanctuary, my church, and my fresh air, a place to find peace amidst the struggle of watching my momma decline. We intentionally build my garden outside her bedroom window, so she could see me, and I could check on her. I planted mixed Zinnias and she loved looking at the colors and her last bouquet was from my garden. My garden was my release, now it is my passion. Every year, Zinnias are planted in the front, the same way they were when momma was with us. It is like having a piece of her still with me when they bloom. 💕🌼🌸

A suggestion for you Becky….before you start sell your house may I suggest that you take all your fencing from the garden. Even your chicken fencing and t posts too. I don’t know about your part of the country, but here on the east coast we have a shortage of fencing and t posts. You will thank yourself for it because you will be able to use it in your new garden spaces.

The feeder and watering thing Josh made can hold multiple days worth of what they need, she’s filming at the house all the time and mentioning taking stuff to her “girls.” You’re the one making a leap assuming they’re neglecting and mistreating the animals, I’m guessing you’re not at her house everyday either? Literally no reason at all to assume the worst in strangers when they have shown time and time again they care for their animals.

wow that was exciting. I caught myself clapping when you were getting those huge peppers. I am 72 and have major mobility issues so can no longer garden. I built raised beds as well and found them super productive to the point I was harvesting 100 plus tomatoes a day. I free flow froze them in paper rubbish sacks and they were wonderful all year. I liked the italian tomatoes best. I love watching you in the garden as it brings back the best memories.

Menards has the raised beds (on legs) on sale for $19.99 each. I’m picking some up tomorrow to add to my container garden. That bending over is getting to me as well. Saving seeds and already looking forward to spring. In full preservation mode now and my garden did not do well this year in my zone. Weather did not cooperate but I’ll take what I can get. Thank god for local producers who will sell me “ugly” produce cheap which works because I’m just canning and dehydrating anyway. Blessings.

Becky, at your new house you should put in raised gardens (really raised so you don't have to bend over to plant, weed and harvest. Like 3-4 feet high. No small animal problems and when you get old, you will appreciate it!

Save and dehydrate the celery leaves to use as seasoning. Or just cut them up with the stalks to freeze or can. The leaves have more flavor than the stalks IMO.

When I was a kid we had a bad slug problem. I remember my parents used a disposable pie plate that they dug into the ground level with the rim, then added beer to the tin. The slugs traveled from the garden to the beer and died. It smelled and looked gross but worked great.

With out knowing your struggles suggestions are limited. There are ways to use planters and a table for wheelchair use. If you have hand function you can absolutely maintain a planter box. If your vision is limited you can learn from feel and smell on what is a weed and what is a plant you want.

I recently just ran across some cucamelons at one of our farms that a renter had planted or something. When I researched them it said that when they turn purple or black that they are toxic and act as a laxative. I found this on multiple sources. Maybe you know more about it? Maybe next year when you go to harvest your coriander, you can place a tarp on the ground underneath them before you pull them up? Just an idea. Also, blossom end rot is a calcium deficiency, nut is usually due to not watering often enough. The plant can't absorb the calcium in the soil well enough because it does not have enough water to transport it up the plant. So glad that your garden has been so productive! I can't wait to get mine going for next year now that we just moved in to our first house!

For the protection of your feet it is wise to have closed toe shoes. Then you eliminate tripping from the open toe shoes catching on thngs, also bees, spiders, snakes, thorns, splinters, garden tools, etc. Just good idea!

Love to see all you produce! You are one of the first people that inspired me to start my garden. This year has been rough but I just made scuppernong jam from home grown scuppernongs and we have enjoyed tons of fresh fruit from our property this year. I was so happy to find another kindred spirit who makes many many meals from scratch and works to have homegrown food for her family. I feel like many people hear what I am doing (bake all my own bread, tortillas, snacks etc, grow as much as we can, make deals with local farmers/neighbors to trade baked goods for produce etc.) and they write me off as someone who has too much time on her hands. It is refreshing to see someone who does what I am doing and more. You are encouraging!

Lol, I sometimes struggle with the rebounding of getting dirty in the garden to cleaned up and glam in the same day. 😅 lol, stresses me out if I can actually pull it it off.

Putting your coriander in a paper bag is a good idea. Also, picking them a bit earlier when they just begin to turn brown and then letting them dry can keep the seeds on the plant better. Some people even like the taste of green coriander seeds. I really am amazed at all you do and the joy you have and share with us. I only found your channel recently and I absolutely love it. ❤️

Hi Becky. Oh my goodness. What a beautiful harvest just from those two beds. Also don't say it's my fault when something failed because of lack of watering. Look back at your own videos and see what you've accomplished. You moved and pregnant while at it! Still you get so much from that garden because you have nature run it's course. Sometimes constantly pruning isn't always the best thing and this garden shows it. I can't wait to see more of this beautiful garden. P.S. My tomato plants are getting big on my balcony and the basil is doing amazing! No garden but still fresh products from plants in a container. 😉 Bye my friend ❤️🇳🇱

Becky I always look for your videos and get excited to watch them lol 😆 😂 I love seeing your cute expressions and reactions to the littlest of things it makes me smile your so cute and a bundle of energy being pregnant like you forget your pregnant and go go go and lift all those things when you was moving and harvesting ..hugs to you .your harvest was great you never fail because your always trying no one fails !!!! My mom and dad was a great gardener they had huge garden every year my mom canned everything. I never had store bought jelly until i was 29 years old because my mom gave it to me until I moved to another state I missed all her canned vegetables..now there both deceased I miss them. my garden is a 12 months thing now.. i grow all my herbs indoor even in the winter in canada. i spend 2 hours a day minimum a day in my garden...working from home since 2020... i go in the garden each break i get. ... it keeps me sane

I started 250 plants from seed in March. Blessed my sister and 7 friends with their tomatoes and peppers for their gardens. I'm right there with you about being outside and getting my hands dirty. Feels good to my soul!

Becky-just so you know, I watch your videos for my mental health. I know that sounds weird, but I do. I want to garden and had plans to for my mental health but moved to an area where I can’t right now. Your positive energy and outlook on everything makes me so happy to see. I have severe PTSD and have been struggling in the worst way these past couple years. I found your videos and channel last year, I believe. It has helped with my anxiety in a large way. The Lord loves you so much and He wants to help you recover from the trauma and the effects of it. I hope you can reach out to someone that can be a help and support to you. A big paper yard waste bag would probably work well for cilantro harvesting in the future. I have the same reasons for gardening, and I also freak out a little bit when I find peppers on my plants.

I Garden for mental and emotional and physical health. I am disabled but I can hobble around my garden enough to do the bare minimum. It gives me the motivation to push through when the pain is so bad that I just want to stay in bed. I have to look after my plants and that motivates me every single day and forces me outdoors Seeing the bees buzz around the flowers and vegetables I grew from seed brings so much joy.

I didn't grow celery this year but got a huge beautiful bunch at my farmer's market. I dehydrated the leaves and crumbled them up to use in soups, etc. same as parsley flakes. I Love Juliett tomatoes! Unfortunately, this year I didn't realize I was out of seeds for them and looked everywhere but couldn't find plant starts so won't make that mistake next year! Oh and my garden looks just like yours this year. The heat and humidity here in Kentucy have been brutal this summer and I have adult asthma and just haven't been able to tolerate being outside a lot. Looking forward to fall!

Your garden looks amazing and I’m so jealous! Mine suffered (except my herbs) because of the high heat in Tennessee so I’m living vicariously through you. One suggestion I have… herbs like basil, borage, chives, cilantro, and parsley, lose a lot of their good flavors when dried. Air drying is better at a lower room temperature than a high heat with a dehydrator. The higher the heat the more flavor loss. You didn’t ask for my advice, so I hope you don’t mind. What I do with delicate herbs like the ones above is freeze them. I load up ice cube trays with my herbs & add a little olive oil or water. Once frozen, I pop them out of the trays & put them in freezer bags & use in food that way. The flavor is incredible! I do this especially with dill, basil, oregano & sage. Sometimes rosemary too. Regardless of what you do, Your garden looks amazing ♥️ pat yourself on the back… you deserve it!

It is January 2023 and zero degrees outside and I'm dreaming about my garden this year and binge watching these harvest videos, I love them and all your vids, thank you for doing youtube and sharing your way of life with thousands of strangers, you've taught me so much and I'm thankful truly.
