Hello, thanks for the video. I have a doubt, how is that the deep brearthing may not be suitable for people with ansiexity or panic attacks? I thought it was indicated for that cases actually. Thank you.

What if anxiety causes you to periodically hold your breath, breathe outward, and breathe in a way that's not natural? Thanks I know you mentioned holding breath but I'm not sure it's exactly the same issue. This is something I control, knowing it's not normal
@KillAllCommies2

You can train your breathing to become deeper and more natural. I recommend reading "Heart Breath Mind" from Leah Lagos. Resonant breathing is excellent against anxiety in general.

Resonant breathing (4s inhale + 6 exhale) for 20 minutes has a strong anti-anxiety effects on me.

Why is she saying two things that oppose each other. She said deep breathing activates para-sympathic nervous system which calms our mind. Then she said its not for people with anxiety and panic attacks. It doesnt make any sense .. can someone please explain? What she is trying to convey?

you're normally oversaturated with oxygen during hyperventilation, not the opposite

Deep breathing isn’t for people with anxiety or panic attacks ….. what am I meant to do then ???
@princeofb7383
@princeofb7383 Год назад
Yeah I was surprised they said that. As as someone whose worked in mental health and who uses breathing excercises daily for anxiety I really don't see the harm. However, with panic attacks cause hyperventilation I suppose there is a risk that if you take BIG breaths too RAPIDLY you'll just give yourself a head rush and make yourself feel even more weird. But they did say on the vid about *slow* and *controlled* breathing
@MrChearlie2
@MrChearlie2 Год назад
For any reading this comment, she said it MAY not be suitable since I think it might make you more self-conscious about what's triggering the anxiety or the panic attacks and that's why is worth considering checking with a medical professional if deep breathing is not working for you, although I don't think deep breathing might be something catastrophically is just something might not work for you. That's what I'm assuming they're implying.

You’re supposed to breathe out longer than you breathe in, its not about deep breathing alone
@helenhut
@helenhut 6 месяцев назад
Theres lots you can do, you don’t concentrate on your breathing just be aware of it and it slows naturally
