I swear if I see Bryan Johnson again, can we stop giving him attention??? What he is doing is not scientific, its a vanity project - he's taking fistfuls of pills (literally anything and everything that is trendy) and exercising and acting like he's doing methodical research. His supposed reversal of his epigenetic age only comes after fixing his sleep, diet, and exercise so there's no way to know if his mountain of pills is doing anything or if its all just basic 'being healthy', for all we know his pills and therapies are a detriment. If he magically wakes up tomorrow 18 years old we won't be any closer to developing a therapeutic since there are millions of possible interactions going on between everything he is taking, so it's not altruistic like he claims. He's not even keeping up to date on research, he still takes metaformin even though recent studies have shown NO BENIFITS to non-diabetics and it decreases the effects of exercise. He's basically just slamming pills and working out and he gets loads of media coverage because he's rich... stick to science

Trying to keep the Liberals convinced that their priorities aren't the road to destruction. I wonder where those robots were made? How many Californians moved to red states in the time it took for this video to play? We wouldn't want to talk about the competency crisis.

This isn't necessarily entirely new tech. It's essentially a CMM scanning process in reverse in a way. The robots are using a mathematical model invented by a renault engineer most likely, called Bezier Curves. Probably alot of FFT in there too

Ashlee, as a bloke swiping through RU-vid your videos here are hands down some of the best to get people interested in technology (technology isn't just software, it's hardware too). As an engineer, Destin from SmarterEveryDay puts out some of the best manufacturing related videos recently, and had a detailed dive into that robot colony of end tips using to make parts.

There is a problem with 3D printing outside of Earth though: you need raw materials, so you need mining and smelting, and a boatload of energy. And without a protective atmosphere, a lot of high tech equipment will receive a constant battering of radiation. But I can see a future where repairs and replacements can be made in situ.

The M-type asteroid psyche supposedly has enough gold to make everybody a billionaire. NASA has recently sent a probe that will give us more information in 2029. And it is primarily made of iron and nickel. As for energy, a solar furnace might be the easiest solution.

Personally, I believe that even if the major motivation is "anti-China" this will still be a good thing for both the US and allies. A newfound focus on education, training, skills, and experience will bring very strong benefits to many communities. I think the last 30 years of development in India is proof of this type of foundational, from the 'ground up' investment can provide immediate and long term benefits.

Thats a brilliant way to lower the bar of entry for common people to engineer sophistocated manufactured parts. Empowering the entreprenuers, inventors, creatives, makers and doers alike. That would be so cool if one day anyone could go pay to have something custom manufactured. As long as the paywall isnt too large, it could be a prototype revolution.

I think it's really understated the significance that SpaceX and Tesla will make on our future through all the ambitious entrepreneurs that got a jumpstart working at those companies. I heard of a lot of stories where people that worked during the early years of those companies earned enough money to retire decades earlier than average. Of course with the work they put it at their level of expertise and especially under such rough working conditions (elon demands a lot) they earned it. I can't wait to see what they'll all manage to accomplish
