A NEW ASTON MARTIN AWAITS! Factory Reveal Day

There's a brand new Aston Martin awaiting at the factory! Join me for a run in my OG Shmeemobile, a 2009 Vantage, to visit AM's HQ in Gaydon to check out the brand new 2024 Vantage for the first time. This is a HUGE step up in power, interior, and looks, let's check it out!
I have two Vantage models in my collection; the original Shmeemobile, the 2009 4.7l V8 Vantage Roadster, and an end-of-the-line special Vantage GT8 from 2016. However, the generation that followed never really grabbed my attention in the same way; the slightly odd look from the front and the clutter of buttons inside with outdated infotainment from the off. It is now time for change though, hot on the heels of the introduction for the new DB12, making a big step on from DB11, comes an all new Vantage model.
We set off from ‪@TheShmuseum‬ for a run in the OG to Gaydon, the home of Aston Martin's HQ, and an atrium filled with the current line-up including a DB12, DBX707, Valkyrie Spider and Valour, along with the new covered beast awaiting reveal.
Upon pulling off the covers, we are greeted by something special, a new look Vantage with much larger front grille both for airflow and more aggressive looks. Inspired by the design of the One-77, the shape is a marked improvement, along with new eyes featuring matrix LED headlights. Under the hood the 4.0l TT V8 now raises the game to a whopping 665PS and 800Nm - big steps up from the predecessor.
On the inside is where the biggest changes are found, thanks to incorporating the infotainment from DB12, as opposed to the seriously outdated systems found in the previous model. Thankfully retaining physical switchgear for many controls, and combining digital displays to offer additional functionality, but a big improvement over what came before.

I genuinely adore the original Shmeemobile. It’s how my dad and I started watching you, and his XKR Convertible he bought has the same spec, albeit with a tan top. Since he’s passed, I’ve got it in for a full restoration. If you make it to Tennessee again, I’d love for you to see it.

I absolutely love the proportions on this car. It's one of the few that seen from the front 3/4 looks like a designer sketch. It doesn't lose anything of that powerful stance and great proportions. I'm really liking it.

WOW! What an absolutely amazing car! Love the color! The outside mirrors look really different without the "frame" on them, a very good addition to the car. Inside, I thought it was strange to have the adjustments for the seats on the side of the waterfall panel, also the adjustable temperature controls are absolutely fantastic! A great idea! Just rotate them to your comfort level. Your videos are absolutely awesome! The best thing is I can watch them with all of my family, including my kids, and not worry about the language! Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos! 🙏

I saw the launch of this car recently in Florida. When they pulled the cover off and I saw it for the first time I was instantly blown away. From every angle it is jaw dropping beautiful and the interior is stunning, especially with the optional carbon fiber seats. I’m quite sure this will be a future classic. Thanks for your review which is one of the best I’ve seen. P.S. I’m 6’ 3” tall in my 60s. This is the first car I have EVER sat in where the drivers seat adjusted low enough for me. A tall drivers dream.

Stroll and Co have done a cracking Job with the DB12 and Vantage . Looking closer to some of these shot there are various sizes of panel gaps and lines that don’t match , of course this must be an early pre production model !

aston martin and jaguar are among the only cars that still have buttons and aren't full of tablets, and that makes me respect them, sometimes it's harder to walk on a tablet in the car than to have a button in the middle that's easy to see and to press

Aston Martin is a seriously underrated brand. If you watch other Supercar owners collections, they very rarely have an Aston Martin and I have no idea why. I think they are beautiful. What's more, why don't collectors have a DB5? One of the most beautiful cars in the world and a movie icon.

Honestly guys in the car community, it's literally very similar to what AM has already produced. It's a very similar design language. If you watch the same kind of video discussion posted on JWW and Harry's Garage, many of the motifs and design elements have already been incorporated previously. They definitely need to try and figure out how to create a new bold design language. In the video discussions, AM has wanted to be the most powerful in its segment with Porsche being the paragon. AM achieved that. But we're talking about Porsche and its legacy. People understand and love the German engineering side. It's a sports, racing car. But on the other hand, AM looks to be a grand tourer brand. One is designed to be nimble, the other for touring. If you really like AM that's ok, but if you place AM and Porsche together, there will always be something more special about the latter.

Glad Aston kept the best bit of the 2018 Vantage's design. That rear end and those hips are pure lust. The face is a big improvement (other than being... big), the larger headlight gave it a more Aston-ish character than the old squinty headlight that looked way too much like an ND MX-5. The wheels are a bit too big in my opinion, though. The old one in 20s are perfect.
