When it's as sturdily built, as easy to build in, with as many nifty features, and as lovely as this case, then $100 (without fans) rates as "budget." Anything else as good in so many ways will run $150 without fans.
I got the standard model because I wasn't impressed by Montech fans. Nobody seems to mention: The front panel has a button to toggle through LED states on the King 95 Pro, in which the fans are controlled through a Montech hub. The Montech front panel header has the LED toggle button molded into that plug. I've got a non-pro unit that doesn't have the Montech fan hub (I added my own). The molded Montech front panel header does not connect the wires from the LED toggle button to anything worthwhile if you're not using their fan hub. But Montech provides an adapter to the header that converts it to conventional header pin jacks along with a separate LED button line. You can plug the LED button line onto the Reset pins, turning that LED toggle button into a Reset button. I removed that drive cage and mounted my psu in the top position, giving me a big area of metal plate to mount my own aRGB and fan hubs.
Just need a matx version that’s 33L or smaller. As for the pro version, it's subjective as other reviewers say the 6 fans and the argb and pwm hub is worth the added cost. Would like to see how the Musetex Y6 compares
That hinged rear door can be yanked out from the top hinge (see the arrow stamped on it). It's questionable whether it even needs to be replaced, if you're not mounting fans or SSDs on it.
I paid around $170 for the Asus TUF GT502 back when it came out, and that didn't even come with fans for the optional controller. Granted, its built like tank, however in comparison, this Montech has it easily beat in the value department. On a side note, pretty sure the base model, without fans, also misses out on the RGB controller and fan hub.
That's true about the model without fans. It does not contain the aRGB controller and fan hub. It contains an adapter cable to plug into the motherboard header that breaks out the cable to the small button of the case. You can plug that into the Reset header, which turns that small button into a Reset button. But remove the hard drive cage and mount your psu in the top position; that will leave you with a gigantic open plate at the bottom to mount an aRGB splitter and a fan splitter.
@@kirkdarling4120 so if I connect the rgb fans of the case to the motherboard, the button on the case serves what purpose exactly? Also how can I control the case fans from the motherboard? Is there software montech has for their rgb fans?
@@whysoserious286 I'm not sure about the pro version, but the non-pro version comes with an adapter cable that allows you to plug the small button to the Restart header on the motherboard. You'll be able to control the fans from the BIOS as usual.
Is there an in-built gpu bracket? Fans in the bottom are in a way if you want to prop up the gpu from the bottom. Otherwise it looks great. Curved glass is beautiful. Mesh front also. Rgb of Fans is a bit spartan. Thank you for the review. Great work!
"Common" they are the only 2 cases that do so, and the Jonsbo tk2 is far more expensive in Europe, 150 to 200€ with no fans. Here with 150-160 you even get reverse fans and a controller
It's clearly made to be used with an air cooler, it's not the classic dual chamber, especially if you want to go with the front mesh It supports up to 175mm unlike most dual chambers
@@thunderarch5951 why air cooler xd aios are better , and looks much better in my opinion and these new artctic liquid cooler III they are cheap and so good
