A New Cream From TOBS...Aventus Inspired...? 

I like how you talked about little rituals. I also have a little towel. Everything sits on it. Then when the shave is done I dry my face with it. Then the razor. Lastly I wipe the counter down with it. I got 100 pack of those towels as not to be doing laundry too often. Funny how a silly little thing like that can make the whole ritual more luxurious.

Great shave as always, Kevy! In all seriousness I'd be ecstatic if Gillette would just do a limited edition, single run rerelease of any one of their traditional razors. The single ring, old type, new, super speed trio, fat boy, black beauty, slim adjustable, etc... I love em all and our community would surely purchase whatever they released. Just bring the bloody things back already, will ya, Gillette!?

Pre-shave works for me. Gets the process started. Adds emollients to the skin surface and prepares the skin for a better 'glide'. I use Proraso red from time to time however my 'go to' are St. James of London or Truefitt & Hill pre-shave oils.

The new Utility oil from P&B makes for a great Pre Shave. Love the sound of the fruity profile on the cream. The Gillette Slim is really just a wonderful razor, have a 1967 myself works like a dream. Balsamic vinegar on your strawberries is nice too. Smile on the face video as normal, razor therapy at its best!.

Awesome. This is great news! Can't wait to try it. This and the new No. 50. Love their Platinum as well. Tobs has really stepped up their game with these new scents. Just wish they offered matching aftershave splashes. Thanks Kevy.

I used tobs shaving cream and lotions for several months. Every time after shaving, acne and irritation appeared on my face. Only 3 months later did I understand what it was when I studied the composition of their products. Each of their shaving creams contains mega allergenic components. The same about truefitt & hill creams. Here is a list of these chemicals below. Tobs shaving creams: 1. Triethanolamine (TEA) 2. Methylisothiazolinone 3. Мethylchloroisothiazolinone 4. CI 17200 5. CI 42090 Tobs lotion: Royal Forest, Tobacco leaf 1. Triethanolamine 2. Propylene Glycol 3. Butylene Glycol 4. Potassium Hydroxide Now I don't think Tobs has the right to call their products premium. They are toxic.

Today's shave was one of the slickest in recent memory. I am wondering if the prep using Proraso Sensitive pre-shave contributed in a higher percentage. My reasoning for this hypothesis is that you took your time in applying it. You massaged it well into the stubble, and skin to be shorn. I am going to try this extended and arrant coverage. ToBS is slick on its own, but the first pass was slippery as an icy sidewalk! The Proraso had to be a contributing factor to this. I realize there are different schools of thought regarding the pre-shave debate. I use Proraso red pre-shave cream. I know that Arthur Lamb uses it on every session. Then again, Ian Thomson doesn't use a pre-shave at all. But what I witnessed today did rekindle this long contention within me. The Gillette Slim was its masterful self. I'm presuming that Ladas is ready for the blade bank after 3 uses. Your characterization of Royal Forest's scent profile is spot-on. This new offering by Taylor's is suspiciously identical to Aventus' pineapple forward dry down. Not that this is a bad thing. I rather enjoy Creed's $280.00 fragrances. I do not envy you the peak load of work you're experiencing at year's end. I imagine you'll be sick of seeing parcels and seasons greetings cards. There is a silver lining however ...you can look forward to forearms like Popeye. Also shoulders, and legs like Paul Bunyan. I believe that qualifies you to wear flannel shirts! Prepare thyself, Mr. Parr; for the apogee of 6000 subs draws nigh! Cheers for all time!

Great shave. Interesting soap because of its newness in the TOBS lineup unlike their staple soaps. I survived No Shave November and went back to shaving after that month of torture of not shaving for 30 days. Have a great week

Just did a shave this evening kevy. Edwin Jagger de 89 lbl. With a Personna lab blue blade. Used T.O.B.S Peppermint. And finished with Fine Green Vetiver aftershave. Not sure I like the Aftershave...may take some getting used to.

The only aventus shave product I have tried was Spartacus shave soap by a&e. I'm interested in this one

I saw TOBS Royal Forest cream advertised here in the states as "pre-order", I'm on the list😁 Good old Gillette Slim Adjustable, great 60 years ago, great today👍 Doubt if Gillette will ever re-tool and make a vintage style DE razor, but we can always hope. Hi Kevy. I always use a pre-shave oil. It works for me and I can feel the difference if I forgot to pack it on my travels. As for TOBS - not ready available in ZA and then, if i want to ship it here , it's gonna be a premium to pay. So, maybe if I get to the EU / UK someday, I gonna buy me a tub or two :-)

Nice shave Your Majesty.😜😜I'm Afraid I may be in the wrong social class to have the opportunity to walk through a royal forest, and if they smell of all the things you describe, that's disappointing. So this soap may be the closest I get. I do have however the Barrister and Mann Patches soap which is strawberrys, basil and black pepper and it smells really nice, although I haven't taste tested to give a comparison on your comments on strawberry and pepper going well together.👍🏻

Ever tried Furbo which is a pre shave gel Italian made that stuff is the best pre shave I’ve ever used I use just a little bit I don’t need much and that stuff helps with my shave every time I shave.

This cream is so fresh that I would take a spoon to eat it Kevy!

I think there's some magic mushrooms in that new cream Kevy, you went a bit odd on us there! As for Gillette reissues I agree with Jill, the Fatboy & Aristocrat. I've been using a Ladas blade this week & while it was ok its not that impressive to me, too much touching up even in a Progress on max setting.

Kevy have you ever tried a thick aged top quality balsamic vinegar on your vanilla ice cream? Sounds crazy I know, but no joke: its AMAZING!!☺

I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what razor and brush you use. No matter what brand it is you can make it work. What matters is the razor blade and soap.

ye i agree i hope gillette do bring out a new razor, but i hope they dont just run to parker to make it for them like wilkinson sword has, hope they make it themselves and re-make say the slim adjustable for example, but i dont think they will.

Speaking of "mish-mash", next time, you should bowl lather small bits of all 6 of your Super Six at the same bowl just to see what happens. I'd assume the smell would be a confused mess, but the performance should be great! xD Worth a try anyway.

Unfortuntely, I wouldn't be able to use that cream, as they still have "that" ingredient in it that so many are allergic to.

Dingle Berries...lol..a preshave with the right ingredients should help the skin...common sense tells me ...but obviously not necessary...olive oil would probably do the same thing...Extra Virgin...lol..

Shaving soaps are so big ...it takes an year to finish one box....it feels like ordering 10 delicaies, eating just a bite of each and throwing them away. Smaller size should be made.
