This was a great video, very informative and clearly good grounds for moving forward with new database design. However, I do wonder why the problems highlighted here have, as far as we are aware, never manifested in any meaningful scale in real life? Traditional databases are processing colossal amounts of data, presumably with large number of disk faults and other disruptive events. Why aren't we drowning in data integrality problems already today?
