In today's video, I showcase Bitmap Bureau's latest port for Xeno Crisis on the Nintendo 64 and GameCube! I love how we’re starting to see more and more N64 games released. It’s a shame the GameCube version doesn’t work out of the box though. Overall it looks like a fun game. Great video!

Yeah, it’s awesome seeing new N64 releases for sure! It is a shame the GameCube version doesn’t just work out of the box on unmodded consoles, but I can understand why it doesn’t. That being said, still wild to see a new GameCube release! Thanks for checking out the video man!

My gamecube is not moded but I do have a memory card with swiss and action replay. I use that combo only to force the original games in 480p. If I start swiss from the memory card and insert the gamecube disc of the game, will it run like that ?? (without extraction iso of the game on to the memory card) Also, they could have added the falling bullet shells effect on the gamecube and n64 versions. I could understand the megardive not having them due to sprite limitation but gamecube and n64 can do this without any problem.

I remember playing this on gamepass and had a lot of fun with it but it was stupid hard. Hey was wondering if you were going to do a review on the resident evil 4 remake since GameCube original is one of your favorites

Oh nice! Yeah, it's definitely challenging lol. I thought about reviewing the RE4 Remake as a bonus video of sorts, but not sure it would really do well at this time honestly. I think when the time is right though, I'll revisit this idea to try and emphasize the comparison aspect! Thanks again for checking out the video man (and for that question)!

Dont get me wrong it's great that the gamecube is getting new releases but i'm not tech savvy when it comes to modding a console and it seems like a hastle just to play a new game.

Yeah, it’s very understandable that the GameCube release is for a niche crowd on the platform. That’s why I wanted to stress highlighting this part in the video so that people didn’t think they could just play it on any GameCube (even Bitmap Bureau’s website highlights this aspect). That being said, I do think this opens up an avenue for new GameCube releases, coupled with the fact that the homebrew scene is starting to happen soon on the console. I have Freeloader mini disc software for Gamecube...Works with Xeno Crisis?

I'm not positive if it works, but I'm thinking it does since Freeloader opens up access to pretty much any GC game! Hope this helps! Thank you so much for checking out the video, and for the donation!!

The Freeloader doubles as the SD Media Launcher, so if you get an SD card adapter for the Gamecube memory card slot, then it should work through Swiss. However, if you're going with the Freeloader/SD Media Launcher method, know that you can only use a full size SD Card that is 4gb or less. Because it's much older software. If you want to use much bigger microSD cards with Swiss, then you'll need to load Swiss through a hacked save file in a compatible game (you can look online for a list). To do this you'll need to load the homebrew app GCMM through either the SD Media Launcher or a hacked Wii and then transfer the hacked save to a memory card.

This is just so cool seeing a Gamecube AND N64 game being released today. I would love to see more releases like this, especially on these two amazing systems. I agree that they kind of dropped the ball on the spine for the Gamecube, it'll stick out like a sore thumb amongst the others. I've never played SMash TV but I will have to check this out when I can, they both look like fun twin stick shooters. Another galactic review Marcello!

I think we will continue to see more releases like this in the near future. The GameCube modding scene appears to have been making headway with making homebrew content for the console, so we shall see! Yeah, I wish the spine artwork popped out more visually. I love the cover art. Even better it comes with a manual! Yeah that spin on the GameCube release is boring. That’s kinda weird about the continue aspect not letting you get the good ending. Uh oh that’s a lot of work for me to play this on the GameCube haha. I wasn’t a big fan of Smash TV so it might take me awhile to get into this… but I can appreciate a game even if it’s not the type of genre that I like. Great showcase!

I wonder if the Gamecube controllers would work on the Switch version like with Smash & Mario Sunshine, as I can see the Gamecube controllers bring best for his game. Also a SNES version? Ok that's my jam.

It feels like we didn't have games with these kind of pixel graphics on N64 because we thought those were outdated at the time 😂 I wonder how the reviews would have been in Nintendo Power Magazine etc

Oh yea they should have added single player dual controller n64 scheme , so you can dual wield analog sticks. You know a few games could use that back in the day like Goldeneye 007

Nice reviews! That's so cool that they keep releasing that game on all these retro consoles! I don't understand why you need a modded gamecube to play it though... because it's not an odficial release? They also ported this game on the Vita (which is the version that I have)! Yeah, because it is not an official GameCube release, the console can't read the disc without some workarounds (at least in the current state of homebrew for the GameCube). If you got these games for free because you are supposed to to do advertising for them than you should state that in your video. Or did you buy them with your own money full price ? I doubt it. Make it obvious that this is a payed advertise and don’t disguise it. I think it is mandatory on RU-vid. Such behavior makes so many channels completely untrustworthy. So much so that people stop watching them once they find out.

I know it’s confusing since maybe it seems your mom even forgot to give you gifts. Some of these smaller developers send games to people with no requirement to do anything. Because it gives people the chance to give HONEST reviews. If it’s a paid promotion then they are paying you to talk about it and of course speak nicely.
