For the past 3 summers (2022, 2023 and 2024) I have, during my summer break, rewatched the whole Animal Crossing and chill series. One episode every morning while enjoying my morning cup of coffee and gathering energy for the day. Thank you Ryan for making such a cozy and warming series that has been the start of my day for the past 3 summers, hopefully this new island will add a few more episodes for next years rewatch :)
Everytime I have a super stressful period at work I restart my island. Just doing all the daily chores to build up the island and villager hunting is a perfect chill distraction.
New Horizons is a great game. People took it so seriously and binged it so much that people think its boring and old now. Animal Crossing was ALWAYS meant to be a daily game you log into, play for like half an hour or an hour, then log off. Its a slow burn and relaxing, thats what makes it satisfying. Im actually genuinely sad that peoples perception of the series has changed because of how people went fucking insane the first year of its life.
I think it's because we all watched these amazing islands that were created and strived to do the same! Which is just the wrong thing to do, as you said it's meant to be relaxing.
Before the 2.0 update, I was fine with watching other people play, also I was laid off because of some virus running around. But when 2.0 trailer dropped, I saved every penny I could to buy this game, Now I have my forever island, :)
RYAN IS BACK!!! I'm so excited! I restarted my island last week. My previous restarts I always dated to March 2020, but this time I'm in real time. So happy to see you back!
Not only is it amazing you’re back, but I so love the “rambling” as you called it lol. The topic of just playing the game and enjoying it without all the pressure from social media. I’ve been resetting for a new island and really wanted to just play it and relax instead of binge watching tours and aiming for perfection. I LOVE this approach. Please stick with it. ACNH in casual let’s play form is the best
There was a level of comfort I always got when watching your Animal Crossing & Chill series back in the day, and it also gave me lots of inspiration when building mine. Man, it is certainly great to see you back on this game, and look forward to seeing more again!
Welcome back!!! I still have my island from 2020 and while I completed the major stuff (full museum, five stars, finished the HHP main quest, etc.) I still have personal mini quests: 1:Get a photo of all my dreamies: 10/18 2:Collect more golden nuggets and snowflakes for future builds (easy) 3:Try to get blue roses (hard) 4: get a poster of every dreamie 15 /18
GOSH UR SO LUCKY I just ran across Quinn for the first time on a villager hunt and totally fell in love, but i left her behind and i never thought id see her again. such pretty feathers!!
OMG, you're back! I started playing ACNH at the end of 2022, and you were one of the creators I was watching regularly to get inspired, and to just learn how to play the game! I hope you've been well 🙂
When I got the game in 2021 you were the first ACNH creator I followed. Good to see you back and I'm in love with the concept. Now I want to do the same.
Ahhhh I'm so happy to see you again!! Much like you, I very recently started getting back into playing AC again after almost a year and restarted on a brand new island. I binge watched your entire series to feel nostalgic again lol. So happy that you're back and I look forward to seeing your island progress!!
I was thinking the same thing! Haha. Well i started my island a year ago, and recently picked it up again. I didnt want to fully restart so i just jumped right back in and love it. 😊
I often come back to your chill series so I am pleased to see a new animal crossing series. I am currently working on my forever island. I just need to finish collecting art work and then my museum will be done.
So glad to see you back playing Animal Crossing! I've missed your videos. I am saving all of my Nook Mile tickets to search for Lyman too! He is my favorite and never fails to bring cheer with that smile of his. I started a new island earlier this year and have been enjoying playing again. Looking forward to more videos from you!
I love that your coming back to ACNH with a different mindest! I, like so many others, played ACNH like crazy for the first couple of years and eventually burnt out on it. I finally picked it back up last September with the mindset that this was going to be a chill playthrough. No rushing to complete the museum, or get a five star island, or make things perfect as quickly as possible. I've also committed to trying patterns and decor that I usually wouldn't just to try some new things because I can just change it. Overall, I'm just not taking it as seriously and I've been loving it.
the way i saw the notification and pinched myself to make sure i wasn't dreaming... welcome back ryan ❤ glad to see you, hope you've been doing well. honestly looking back on acnh back in 2020... i really do feel like many of us were over-controlling when it came to our islands and the villagers that inhabited it *because* of the sheer loss of control over our own lives that happened when it came out due to covid... we wanted some type of control and acnh was an outlet for many people. i talked with some friends about acnh actually just a few days ago and we were planning on starting over or re-doing our islands to play together sometime, then talked about the content creators we watched during that time and your name came up... we didn't even meet through your videos, we met elsewhere, so small world haha. and amazing (unintentional) timing
I was watching some of your old videos a few weeks ago and was worried about your sudden disappearance but OMG it’s so great to see you back! Hope you’ve been okay!!
@4:00 dude, the bottom left is literally my DREAM layout. the little hill with the waterfall is so pretty. also, great to see you uploading again. i started an island a couple months ago with the intention of making 5 stars without terraforming, and once i got it i haven’t touched it. you’re making me want to reset again 😅 i have amiibos for the villagers i like, so it’d be no biggie resetting the island
Definitely relate with you. 2020 was a such an overwhelming period for Animal Crossing in general. So many people playing due to the pandemic, and so much experimentation. There was so much discourse around this game four years ago. It felt so draining trying to keep up with what other people have discovered (like the flower placement, best island layouts, time travelling, etc. or have accomplished in the game. Like there wasn't any pressure to do everything, but it seemed like that if you played around that time. And don't get me started with the ACNH black market, for sought-after Villagers and Nook Mile tickets.
I'm glad to see you back. I'm kinda on my way finishing Pokemon Violet dlc so I haven't really tuned in a while on the game. I'll be trying to finish all my three islands (too many swiches). I got the Animal crossing lite coral edition which made my islands up to three. Ill have to decide which to keep.
My muscle memory clicked this video before I could realize how long it’s been. You were my first ANCH channel when I got locked in in 2020. Hope you are well, and welcome back 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Welcome back, Ryan!!! This is so awesome! I loved your chill Animal Crossing videos, they helped me so much! Can't wait to see what you'll do with this new island! And - I still always think of you whenever I see Lyman!
insane that i rewatched your videos the other day trying to bring back the cozy 5 am feeling. I even restarted my own island just ten minutes before seeing this. This is meant to be
I was saving up for 3 years when I finally got my switch all the other ac players already head the perfect islands with all their layouts and themes or cores. I thought I needed to make my island as perfect as theirs. I never just enjoyed playing, it was a task everytime. I copyied so many islands tried different themes but none were it for me. I reset my island about 30 times. I just now reset a last time to make my island like I want it now.
Welcome back Ryan!!!!!!! I am looking forward to seeing what you develop on your new island. I remember watching your old videos and past islands. Like you, I have been playing since the inception with some breaks in between. Now I am working on my 6th 5 star island these days.
I haven't played ACNH in ages (except for dabbling with a spicy version on steam deck), but I've always enjoyed how chill your content is. Really looking forward to seeing more!
Yay welcome back! It made me so happy to see an ACNH video from you, and I think it's great you're taking a chill, relaxed approach to it :) the only pressure in ACNH should be from Tom Nook's house loans. 😂
This is crazy, I've been playing acnh nonstop recently and started watching your videos from 4 years ago like 2 days ago and now you just posted about it again. glhf! :)
Animal Crossing New Horizon is my Safe Game. I played since release and restardet a lot. I played the 4 Years mostly daily (some Summer Breaks) and it is still relaxing. Currently I started my Last Island - My Forever Island, Iam glad iam not the only one still enjoying the Game.
I put fish and bugs out and they counted a designing my island. I wonder if you can get cockroaches in your tent if you don’t play or time skip. That would be interesting to find out 😅😂
I restarted recently too and I haven't gone online or traded or anything and Im not really teriforming either.i just want like a natural island and it's so much fun to just play to play now without the like perfection of decorations.
I remember when you start acnh you would get a switch but now it seems like they nerfed it by giving you a diy. Maybe it’s because people have been making alts to get more switches and just sell them? It was a great way of farming bells early on if you didn’t have NSO for treasure islands (or you just don’t like them)
