Came here to say this, you can see the stairs going down the void at the bottom centre. There are a lot of tables surrounding this void with what looks like bookcases to the top left and right, my guess is a library or university map.
What stood out to me was the line “it can’t outsmart THE FINALS”. You don’t normally associate improper nouns like “game show” with verbs like “outsmart”. You wouldn’t say “she can’t trick the christmas party”. The line reads as if THE FINALS is in itself some individual entity or artificial intelligence that can act upon its own volition
There at least one voice line from June during matches that says he was. And there's an achievement "just like scotty" for winning a match with 0 deaths.
what if they add in game event like this in the middle of the TOURNAMENT mode, all black screen and glitch hack effect and the objective get swapped at random places basically light in light out :P lol just saying or if it means it is in simulations lol and hackers are good people saving shit lol
I really liked your theory about Scotty and June - having one of them not be a "real person" would be very interesting, instead of just both of them. And this map teaser definitely shows typical modernistic traits with a touch of digital-VR aesthetics. Excited to see where this goes, thanks for the shoutout RHB!
@@Ori_fr I think there’s room for the “degree” of lying… plus it would be a major plot hole if he never was a contestant since if “the finals” is the greatest gameshow, he surely had a public presence during his active time as a participant. If he came out of nowhere saying “I was a major former contestant” that could be proven otherwise right away
@@julio1148 would it though if he's backed by one of the sponsors I'm sure he could literally just say whatever he wanted. And like you said if he was a major contestant why haven't we heard of his exploits, like at all? We even know of other contestants that we've never heard

We’ve only had Ophelia and her team as far as I know… and I am iffy still on the Scotty never have been a contestant… I get your theory but I feel like if they go for that there’d be so many holes that need to be addressed, it can’t be just “big money sponsor hiding it” Also I just remembered at the beginning of the season he was in the beta test for a Volpe product? They’ve been featured a lot in the trailers, they may be the main sponsor of S2, also since Scotty didn’t know they were recording and Volpe makes hardware, I kind of think Scotty is human 😅 I don’t know there’s a lot in the air
I very much think that the 'boxes' as seen in the new map teaser, if not part of the maps design, are meant to communicate that what we see here is the maps 'under construction' where there are parts that are not finish/rendered

I think you're overthinking the map tease, in the loading screens of maps like Seoul, we can see that the further you get from the playable map, geometry virtualizes into blue blocks. The reason there are so manny jagged blocks in this tease is becayse the map is literally in an unfinished WIP state within the literal behind the scenes virtual "depot" where it's all blue and corrupt with jagged blocks. Also I absolutely could not see any cars in that image in the opening segment.
The thing i've been thinking about for a while is the way June said "Just Like You Scotty". I feel like she is saying it in a malicious way of sort, and she said it a little passive aggresively. Almost as if Scotty either cheated somehow to gain fame and to get to his position now compared to June, or if it is a black mail situation of sorts.

My guess is the map will be half how the maps are now, fully finished. However, half or part will be blocky/glitchy/unfinished/hacked. Why? because "CNS" will have hacked/corrupted part of the map file in the virtual world.
I believe that the new map will more like TRON or Bladerunner and less like we have now.. fingers crossed :) Maybe we will have something with lots of moving blocks, so a very dynamic map.
definitely think you are right with one of them being ai or an infiltrator, which i believe if true would be june as we know scotty competed in the finals and defends it whereas june seems stern or rude and sarcastic when speaking to scotty
I believe the teased map is something that is getting hacked into the finals by CNS. Flying boxes are replacement of terrain, as CNS cannot leave traces importing an entire landmass. The map is a mix of reused assets, boxes, but most important is the tree, which is the brightest - meaning it's the biggest data package they want to push. I guess next season will have a lot of CNS lore centered around this tree.
I’m not convinced about the tree part, but the rest sounds like a solid theory, especially given that CNS is already hacking broadcasts. The next logical step is them affecting the map.
At 8:58 that's a top view, there's stairs at the bottom, the 'electrical connections' are tables with 6 tall chairs each side, and the rounder ones at the bottom look like larger chairs or couches; there are also bookshelves and hand rails by the stairs and floor gaps
I dont think the perplexing infrastructure is modern art, and actually think the next map is going to be glitched or bugged. That would make sense as it is the theme we have been seeing.

Nah, i actually found something. If you look at the official launch trailer it shows scotty in the room in one of the first scenes, somewhere at the end of the trailer shows the same exact glitches that you see in these teasers. Take a look bro
The part where it shows the hidden CNS messages I suspect that you probably need to play ranked tournament(the big matches) and since every map has different settings like being foggy or night time I suspect that you need to play on 1 night time map and 3 dawn maps all while looking out side the border of the arenas, there’s probably secrets outside it. Although I can’t really think of what CNS could be, maybe it’s a different company that hosts tournaments and they are trying to destroy the finals and to further this theory it would make sense why VOLPE’s tech couldn’t block it cause one of the other sponsor companies that’s sponsoring the finals might also be sponsoring CNS and allowing them to bypass VOLPE
The map part at 9:00 looks way more like a top down perspective of some kind of courtyard. Stairwells and all. Wonder if the blocky artifacts are just digital artifacts of the level being loaded/created?
9:20 I think the camera is pointing straight down the center of a tower. The slanted pieces towards the bottom of the frame look like a staircase and the camera is coming up and out of the building.
With the way Scotty brushed aside June's anxious remarks about CNS, especially in the first short video, and how their voices have different effects in these videos, I think Scotty might not be a real human, but a digital avatar controlled by CNS or an A.I. of theirs.
I think when June says "You actually drink that stuff?" In the previous cut scene, it suggests a surprising lack of intimacy. Like they don't even know basic stuff about each other. That certainly lends itself to the idea that they are at least physically separated or isolated from each other.
It's possible that June saying "Just like you, Scotty" could have something to do with the game achievement "Just like Scotty" That requires winning a round without dying to unlock.
Maybe we will have a futuristic map in S2? And the new bundle skin is the hint? Cuz it has the vibes of Atomic heart. And the neon gun collection. idk, just a theory lol
as someone stated below, the blocks look like the map is being laid out still, it reminds me of uncharted 3's lab maps, where they would let players play on a block mesh map with no textures as an experimental mode, since the finals is a VR game show, i wouldn't be surprised if they had a map that was just being blocked in, i think it would be pretty cool
I believe that the comment about the messages appearing at the big matches is hinting that an easter egg can only be found at the finals of a tournament. Additionally, They comment that Volpe isn't stopping them. Volpe is the sponsor for tournaments taking place on Skyway Stadium. Finally, One night three dawns. One night of entertainment, 3 rounds of play (in unranked tournament). I'd place money on the fact that something can be found on the final of a tournament at Skyway Stadium.
The way she says “Just like you Scotty” makes me think maybe we could get a Scotty skin in the future. We already have Oliva who is a real past character in the lore, who’s to say a Scotty skin is out of possibility
I just got an achievement called “just like scotty” for finishing a round with no deaths. Maybe that’s another hint at scotty not being real since he can’t die if he’s virtual. Could be nothing no and just means he’s really good.
Probably some huge Easter Egg when reaching the final round on the Tournament. Out of reach, out of map, out of bounds. Something is happening on the final round beyond the players reach. That's my take
it's a shame they sat back and watched the game hemmorage 85% of it's player base before we even get a teaser at some real non-cosmetic content. I love this game, but the lackluster rollout of content has it on the fast track to die within 8 months. day late and a dollar short
You can see in one of the finals' launch trailers that shows scotty in a room over the arena commenting on it, there is no june in that room with him, take a look at it.
I’m not sure if I was the only one to see this but I saw volpe’s logo change as soon as we got to see it almost fully. It also had a little orange in the transition, I’m not sure if that’s important but I believe it could have something to do with cns, and possibly a hidden message in there 5:50
If that was the case though, why add all the extra blockiness to it? That’s just extra unnecessary work for the developers. My money is on the map looking like we see here.
honestly I don't know why, but at the start of the new lore video the circle that is at the start with the text "offline" the first thing that I thought I saw was a brain and brain stem, not a circle. It's an example of just seeing something that's not there but I swear it looks like something.
also at 8:02 the weird large boxes where it switches from tiles to the area "you can't walk through" looks like an indoor waterfall to me at least. The only times I've seen something like that is inside of a museum or inside of a luxury shopping mall.
So yesterday I played tournament mode (three dawns/Big matches) on Stadium (sponsored by Volpe) and during one of the rounds the moon(one night) looked like it was being hacked. I'm thinking there is something else if I were to have more time to look during the final round. Maybe something on the signs around the map. (See the signs).
@undBlack I'll stay tuned to see if you find anything. If it copies the same order as what i experienced you should see the moon hacked during the second round on Skyway Stadium. I was trying not to throw the match so i didn't take enough time on the final round to look much. I know the moon was flickering at one point maybe that also has to due with this. Maybe a precursor to the hack.
