A New Owner of a Gamo Phox Mk2 

Thank you Ian for your kind words and advice, I appreciate it 🙏 I have yet to use a filling cylinder, but plan to get one in due course. At the moment I’m using a pump. I managed to get a second magazine, which is very handy. I’m impressed so far with what PCPs can offer. I’m very happy with my purchase. Cheers 👍, Al.

It's a little bit irritating, the initial cost outlay, with the bottle, etc. Never let your bottle run dry, or it will condensate from the inside out. After a time lapse, they are checked periodically when in for a fill. If they are deemed as dangerous, they are confiscated, which is good really. That could save your, our life. Nevertheless, they are great to have. Springers, PCP's, they're both great to own and use. On the whole, springers are heavier, more skill to use with success, with great satisfaction, no reliance on an air cylinder. PCP's are lighter, no recoil, easier to use, choice of a magazine and a cocking lever. No cafuffle, rooting for your next pellet, when out hunting, when you desperately, quickly need your follow up shot. I love the engineering of the PCP's, operating the action, owning them in general. There's great satisfaction, in a great shot with a springer too. You have both now, go and enjoy, and all they have to bring. Take care.

Is it easy to replace the original scope to a hawke scope 😊

Yes you can get more than 40 shots from it, despite only showing up to 40 in the video. No real reason why I demonstrated it this way. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍

It happened to me a couple of times when I first started shooting with the Phox. But now I have learnt to always make sure that bolt is firmly pulled back before pushing it forward. Others have encountered this problem also, so it is quite a common issue. Maybe keep on shooting with it and ensure that the bolt is pulled fully back. Over time it should become easier for you from repeated use. Thanks for the comment 👍

The guy is clearly a donut

I paid full price of £589 which included delivery to my door. You will find it cheaper though at other dealers if you search. You can also buy the Gamo GX40 which is the same as the Phox but just the gun on its own, no sights, no bag, no pump for a lot less. Hope that helps 👍

Thanks for the comment 👍 I like springers as they require a bit more skill. But the Phox is proving to be fun and accurate.

The barrel on the gamo phox is very strong, it's a bsa cold hammer forged barrel, super accurate too. Bsa and gamo are practically the same thing nowadays. I have a hw77, a hw35 as well as the phox. All great rifles, Strong, reliable and accurate.

£589 from The Wolfman store with delivery. You might find it cheaper elsewhere though.
