I've been symptom free for over a year. For ages, been doing progressive relaxation to sleep, starting with toes. During the time I was taking a meditation class, noticed that when I relaxed the jaw muscles, it changed the crawling sensation in my legs. Subdued it but didn't stop it. Started relaxing jaw and facial muscles before sleep, trained myself to relax those while half asleep, and also constantly did that during the day. Biggest difference was when I noticed sleeping on a pillow was putting severe pressure on those muscles. So I started sleeping with pillow above ear, rest of face suspended and not touching anything. The symptoms kept subsiding and stopped. This took somewhere between 1-2 months.

i suffer really badly with RLS, not only in my legs but in my shoulders too, quite often my body starts to jerk violently, so i have to get out of bed and walk around, sometimes for hours, on a good night i will sleep for around 3 hours but still have to get up and do a few exercises so i can fall asleep again, it rules my life, i can't travel, which is something i used to love doing, can't go to the movies, can't really do anything that involves sitting for prolonged periods, i feel sorry for anyone who suffers with it.

I had it extremely bad as well. I first got it when I was pregnant 17 years ago. Recently I started taking high doses of B-1, but in a different form called, "benfotiamine". I take it under my tongue, three or four droppers full, an hour before bed. It gradually went away. It took maybe a month to completely be gone. I also have been drinking Wheatgrass Juice that I grow myself, Cabbage juice, and Kale juice. I blend it in water and some lemon, then pour it through a mesh strainer and drink. But I believe it's mainly the Benfotiamine that made it go away. I hope you try it! Some other things I've heard people say cured their RLS is B-12, Iron, and cutting out sugar and grains.

I know there is quite a bit of skepticism around mechanical devices because they have not worked in the past. I was lucky enough to be involved in one of the trials for the Noctrix device (which I believe he is referring to.) I have severe refractory RLS. I went through augmentation hell. I was only on this study for 6 weeks. During those 6 weeks I was able to reduce my medication by 1/3. It definitely worked for me! I did not mind having it on at all. My study involved only using it when RLS started. I believe if I could have used it early in the evening when I typically get a little breakthrough RLS it may have prevented it altogether. I definitely think it will help on long flights and car rides. I am on the list to get on as soon as they come out. I have no involvement in the sale or distribution of this device, I just want to share my honest assessment.

I cured my RLS and night panic/anxiety attacks by changing my hours of sleep. DSPD, I go to sleep now at 2-3am and get up at 10-11am. I sleep like a baby 7-9 hours every single night. DSPD IMO is not a disorder, it's your natural hours of sleep not the societal hours imposed on us.

It typically occurs at the nap hour, and if you are in an environment whereby the room conserves heat too well, then the best approach is to do a before nap time workout routine of your choice for an hour and also remember to keep the dry air out during the summer the best way you know how or winter time using the thermo control with the "fan" control setting on "auto" fan setting simultaneously and not "on". Dry fan air will dissipate at auto setting, and it's good for the lungs when you do your workout out in your room at night before bed. That's my conclusion and cure after 38+ years, too. It seems that at this age, it is the gold standard age experience I've noticed. Human evolution wasn't meant for energy saving high-tech rooms, which trap dry air in rather to the contrary outdoor experience. Who even gets cured off of restless leg syndrome on a couch rather than outdoors doing stuff and then napping in the forest somewhere. I am serious about this. It's a cure on my behalf in every season of the year and counting. My time for a workout is at the 12 mark to 1am. It is cold outside to open windows and dangerous too. unpredictable too if you live with your loved ones.

It's ridiculous to expect people to take medication before using this. It is well known that the medications stop working at some point and the RLS gets worse. It is also well known that there are damaging side effects to any medication. I have had RLS since I was a child. I agree that it is not described well. It is an uncontrollable urge to move, and uncontrolled movement. I have tried many times to breathe and relax through it, only to find the next movement 5 minutes later to be twice as big. B12 and magnesium have not helped but iron with vitamin C works sometimes.

MSG and all other 25 names for it caused constant restless legs and body at night. Also bone broth which is long slow cooked bones as that releases natural glutamate from the bones, gelatine capsules which comes from bone broth, high glutamate containing green veggies etc. Glutamate is the issue for me be it natural or all the processed MSG family. Hope this helps someone.

I call it Restless Limbs Syndrome because it's in my arms/shoulders now too. I've had RLS my whole life (I'm almost 63 years old; it used to be just at bedtime, then any time I relaxed in the evening too. The last 15 years; it's all day long. The only med that works for me has unfortunately made it worse over time. In fact the medication doesn't work anymore by itself; I have to take magnesium with it. I'm on the max dose; my Dr said he would have to diagnose me with Parkinsons to increase my dose. If I miss a pill; I look like I have PD; I can barely walk. It's an awful disease/syndrome.

@HerbieHewitt
@HerbieHewitt 3 месяца назад
I was on Pramipexole for about 3 or 4 years and it worked very well - until augmentation started and I became worse than ever. Coming off Pramipexole was truly horrendous and was the worst 5 weeks of my entire life. I could only alleviate the feelings by walking around and I was spending 36 to 42 hours at a time, just shuffling around the house. Every time I went to lie down, 10 to 20 seconds later my legs would be jerking around so up wandering again. Out of every 42-hour period I was getting about 4 hours of broken, poor-quality sleep. My GP has now put me on Rotigotine transdermal patches and, although I'm on the max dose of 3mg per day, each patch lasts 24 hours and works brilliantly, and augmentation is not a problem with these. Seriously, I'd ask your GP to swap you onto the patches now before the Pramipexole goes into augmentation. You REALLY do not want that to happen.
