Just like the title says, this is a different take on a threaded loop that you DEFINITELY must try!! In this video, I teach you (hopefully successfully!) how to make a type of start that will add so much uniqueness to your bracelet! That’s going to depend on your pattern so it’s a bit hard to show! If you’ve made a threaded loop before, the concept is pretty similar (the things you need to be sure of with this loop, though, are mentioned throughout the tutorial).

this seems like a great way to start a pattern your making with straight edges, the strings will end up on the sides where they are supposed to be

I'm trying to do this with your diverting wishbone design. But in the other video it looks like the strings are facing out. Should I do this but with the strings facing out instead of in? If that makes sense

This start is more for patterns that open up this way: ^ rather than a traditional teardrop loop so it won’t be achievable with this start. Not from what I’ve tested anyway!

How do you fill the loop out to start a pattern that isn't a diamond?

You might be wanting to look at the teardrop loop then. If you want something in this kind of style, ‘Pattern and Craft’ has a tutorial called the continuous teardrop loop.
