I'm just sitting here wondering what a Caterham Superlight would be called in GTA's universe... I mean, in-game Maxwell is currently used for "It's european" for a couple of cars, namely a Vauxhall Corsa, and an Ariel Nomad. Since the Nomad (the Maxwell Vagrant) in game is also a superlight car, Maxwell would probably be the brand Rockstar would pick for an in-game Caterham, though there could also be a Lotus-tied argument for Ocelot. As for the name? Well, they'd have to riff on either "Superlight" or "R500" (or maybe for a Lotus 7, in-game combo of Jaguar-Lotus being Ocelot) - Maxwell Paperweight - Maxwell Roadlet 500 (look up Roadlet on Urban Dictionary) - Maxwell Roadlite 500 (see above) - Ocelot OneEight7 (187 being cop-talk for a homicide) Damn now I want this in GTA actually.

A suggestion/request for a mod. A covet with a body swap from any of the muscle cars perhaps the moon hawk or barstow so we have a masutangu type car. Look up toms refurb and I’m sure you’ll understand the vibes. As an Aussie keeping it right hand drive would also be preferable, cheers legend.

To me, the subscription model of paying for things is diabolical. Full ownership or nothing, I will never rent a car, I will never rent a phone, I will never buy a home unless I have the million-odd bucks to buy it outright or as fast as I bloody-well can, and I prefer to load up by bus card with money manually rather than pay like 300 bucks ever 4 months. I will own my own things, I will not succumb to the global subscription model of being beholden to corporations.

Watching you trying to cross the border of my expert area of modding is extremly funny to watch 😂. Just watching you trying to see how difficult BeamNG modding is, what is it about. Now seeing this. Boi, GTA 5 modding isn't that complex. You made it useless complicated, but also due some confusion from the Sollumz side of things. First off, Sollumz vehicle modding is a very new and recent added feature (file support recently added). I won't recommend any noob trying to use it in that early stage of development. Second is, you have to get rid of the idea that GTA 5 is BeamNG. Files won't get loaded automatically. You have to tell the game that. The game wasn't officially designed to allow modding. And R* uses RPF archives to store vehicles and all other stuff in. It's basically like an Zip or Rar file but with R* own made file format. You can edit those RPF archives with Codewalker Explorer or OpenIV. If you would just replace the original game files, then the Launcher would automatically see those RPF files as corrupted, so you end up with the Launcher automatically redownloading them to make them original again. Back in the day we used to block the game from the internet to be able to mod the files. But later on OpenIV developed a plugin called the ASI loader. This is an plugin that allows you to take one of those original RPF files, and copy them into a seperated folder (the mods folder) with it's original folder structure (OpenIV now does it automatically for you), and then let the ASI loader load the specific RPF from that mods folder instead of the original RPF file. This also applys to any other file of the game that isn't inside a RPF. So you modify the same RPF but copied but just in the mods folder. And this way you don't need to block anything from the internet. The ASI loader also shutsdown the game when you try to join GTA Online with it, which is prevents you from getting into trouble. And those RPF files don't contain just your vehicle file you want to replace, it contains many other things you mostly won't modify. Yes, that's a waste of space and even R* does this with every new game patch, but the idea here is to load a modded RPF file, not a single modded file. That's not how it works. Also almost all vehicles in the game have a _hi file version of the same vehicle model in the game, which basically means the high quality version. Back on Oldgen GTA 5 console version, it was just the without _hi version. So no detailed interior, lower texture quality and so on. With the Next Gen update, or basically the PC version of GTA 5. They added _hi variants for the first person mode and all that Next Gen stuff. And the game switches between those two variants based on the distance to the vehicle in the game like a LOD. So you have to make two different vehicle exports. This LOD distance is defined in a meta file, the vehicles.meta. A file that defines a lot of stuff about your vehicle. That file defines basically what the vehicle is in the game. Is it a boat? A car? A bus? ect. Without that file, the model files would be just get ignored. It also links any other meta data information together so they get loaded too, such as the handling.dat file which tells how the vehicles should handle (engine power, suspension stuff ect.)

how to make mods folder: step 1. go to gtav main directory step 2. click create new folder step 3. rename new folder to mods step 4. literally copy and past every x64 and.rpf file into the mods folder

subscriptions based things are this way not only cause they make more money, but it will not work offline, meaning you cannot pirate it, :) even gta6 is suppose to be subscriptions based. the ( online ) part, the single player is downloadable, they don't care much for the singleplayer, its the multiplayer they are trying to capitalize on, with how fivem is and RP. i mean rockstar did buy out fivem last year.
