Hi DC and EJ. Terry Fullerton, I agree he was brilliant in karts. I saw your race him DC in the wet on Silverstone club in '89, I filmed it from the grandstand it's on youtube. Talking Formula Ford, I saw EJ in the FF Festival at Snett in 1974, before I started doing race car paintings! Another great show, cheers guys.

Regarding new F 1 regulations, please drop the electric motors once and for all, its a dead end..... and instead go for combustion engines, V8s or rather V12s.

On David's point about the best place to see a car is at the breaking point after a long straight, I remember Martin Brundle at a corner ( I think it was Stowe) during one of the practice sessions. I've been lucky enough to get to Silverstone on two occasions but the footage in the background of the cars breaking heavily coming into the corner was mind blowing. Even Brundle himself spoke about how amazed he was with how much speed the cars were scrubbing off at that point. The magic of the shot behind Brundle was that the camera was at eye level at the specific point when the cars looked like they had to a complete stop from such an incredibly high speed - being tracked by a human. I haven't seen that angle in any live broadcast, yes they have the swivel cams on giant booms at hairpins but the view from a fixed point i.e. the camera man was awesome. High cameras on cranes looking down a straight doesn't convey any sense of speed, eye level cameras on the inside of the corner following cars entering and exiting corners is in my view the best for a more immersive experience.

I was hoping DC was going to mention some of his karting rivals. I remember Jamie Spence, Paul Rees, and a few others, who were on-track rivals to DC at the time. Great days!

Get rid of ground effect. It makes the cars too peaky. Cover the rear wheels (like in indycar). That should reduce the dirty air when following.

Really surprised Lawson isn't replacing Ricciardo for the second part of the current season. Whether Ricciardo replaces Perez or is shown the door is a separate question. Lawson needs to be tested before getting the job as Max's teammate to ensure he isn't the next Nyck Devries. Red Bull is missing a big opportunity if they don't make a driver change for the second half of 24

Drs should change to be activated within 1.5 seconds of car ahead but deactivated when within 0.5 - 0.8 of the car ahead. So you still have to work for the overtake but the drs brings you into contention.

If scrapping the MGU-H does considerably improve the sound of the cars in 2026 I'll definitely be back to Silverstone that year.

Active aero could become as dangerous as active suspension was - a software glitch could lose downforce enough to send the car off. DRS is different as it reduces downforce so a failure to activate is no problem and a failure to disengage is at least manageable.

Hi David & EJ. Firstly David, I have to agree with you on your opinion on EJ, I hate him and love him equally. He doesn’t half talk some amount of sh*te but at the same time you have to give him his dues for what he’s done over the years. I just came to say that my love for the sport came from you personally David. My earliest memory of F1 is watching you and Mika battling when I was around 8-9 years old. I’m 34 now and still can’t get enough of the sport. I watch every practice, quali and race live + a million RU-vid videos. On weekends we don’t have a race I pick a random track and year and watch the full race. I’ve listened to every podcast you’ve done and will continue to do so…unless EJ gets too unbearable 😅 Thanks for making these. When will we get another Scottish driver in F1?

VISION. The most important quality in a broker/dealmaker. I've worked for most of my professional adult life thus far on the buying side of the entertainment business. I've been told more times than I can count that I should be on the other side. For a few reasons, but that's one of them, so I know what EJ means. It's very hard to explain. And, for me unlike EJ, very hard to see others get wealthy from the upside of my quality of vision (i.e. agents or managers I've introduced new talent to.) I guess that's the one area it's let me down! 😆

I don't see Max staying at Red Bull for 2025. Why is Mercedes waiting so long to announce a new driver? They could have gone with Carlos Sainz or even Kimi Antonelli. Max will announce it when he is secure of the titel or at the end of the season.

With the introduction of 100% sustainable fuel I really cannot understand the need a 50/50 split hybrid. Surely the sustainable fuel ticks the 'green' box nicely, so why can't we just leave the electric stuff to Formula E? Or am I just showing my age by not wanting to lose even more of the sounds we so love about F1?

I am a RedBull fan. But I don't think they'll win 2026. Specially with FORD. That's a big mistake done by Redbull. I mean why in the world would a team select ford as the engine partner. Since Honda is an engine supplier for 2026, why not ask them??

F2 drivers need to do the path that Liam Lawson has done. DTM, F1 E, LMP, Japanese series. Why is it not normal for a top driver to take an extra year to settle in a competition. Obviously they are being rushed. THe expectation to go from F2 to F1 and be immediately amazing is ridiculous. Young drivers just dont want to be found out they are not up to it in other categories particularly sons of ex F1 drivers. Almost time for a 2nd tier competition with different spec cars.(v10 hybrid) Drivers need to earn there way to F1 not just be an expected progression for F2 to F1 otherwise your bannished. There are better drivers who have competed elsewhere and grown and they are being shut out to protect this privilage of people with money and sons of exF1 drivers. Red Bull having the sister team proves the point of this as a progression to the top. The jump is too big and good drivers are being shut out.

The future of F1 is this. It will be priced out so your average punter won't be able to go and watch live, it will be too expensive to stream or pay per view, and the sport will be solely for the rich. For me, F1 died with the great Senna. And wtf are women doing commentating?.
