Jamie babe don’t feel bad about sharing your struggles regarding parenthood. It IS hard at times! And that doesn’t mean we don’t love our kids. I think it is important to realistic and open about what it entails, so other people know as well. Thanks for always being so authentic and real 💛 hope you will have some more rest time soon. Loved the vlog as always 🥰
I paused this as you started your clean, and told myself I wasn't allowed to watch it until I cleaned my bedroom. All done now and settling back down to watch. Thanks for the motivation x
Hi Jamie, you need to go cold turkey with the nasal spray for 24hrs, it’ll reset your nose!! I’ve done it myself, it’s hard going but it works. As for the surgery, sounds like you’re talking about a setoplasty, that where an ENT surgeon straightens your nasal septum, (the bit the divides your nostrils). You’re doing great, and admitting life isn’t easy is good. Unfortunately babies don’t come with user manuals!! lol XO (PS, I’m an ENT theatre nurse 😉)
Hello. Yes I wanted to suggest the same, my husband last year had 2 surgeries, first one was a success on the nasal septum but not on the infection he had so he needed the second one which was a success and he was in no pain, we literally went home after 4-5 hours, but 2 weeks with no heavy effort etc and no travel by airplane. He is so happy now that he can breath, he realised it’s been like 8-10 years with the sinus infection. I would definitely recommend to go to an ENT. He had the procedure done in London with a great doctor!
Hi Jamie, I have had a septoplasty to help me breathe through my nose. Didn’t work, I have then had a septic-rhinoplasty and also didn’t work. Had addiction to nasal sprays and they make you much worse, look at nasal rinses instead Neil Med sinus rinse you can pick it up from boots 😊
Being a parent is the hardest job but also the most rewarding. We should all feel safe to express the difficult times, take that stigma away. Hope you had a wonderful date night ❤️
I had chronic sinusitis and was unable to breath for several years! I went in for laser surgery on my nose to remove the polyps that had developed. No packing required, it wasn’t super painful, and if you don’t react to anesthetic the surgery isn’t too bad. Overall, the most annoying thing was the daily saline spray for a long time for full recovery, but being able to breathe again was SO WORTH IT!!
I've headed over from the groupchat! 🥰 I hope all of you have a fantastic year filled with many laughs, health, love & joy. Thank you for being such a positive light in the world 🤍
I worked in an ENT office and scheduled surgeries! Depending on the cause of your issue you could get a septoplasty and or turbinoplasty. Both open your passages and help you breathe through your nose better. Def book in!
I would love to see a video about how you set and plan your goals! I'm definitely in the same boat as you were it needs to be simple enough so it's not daunting but not too simple that it's boring. I'd love to see how you tackle it
You reap what you sow! Your wonderful family values and work ethic will always pay off for you - you work so hard to make it great for everyone else! Happy Healthy New Year
I have had the hardest time breathing out of my nose my whole life. I have noticed it got way better in the last year and the only thing that has changed is starting to do yoga. I literally think that forcing myself to breathe through my nose has just helped me regain the ability. When I first started going to yoga I could only breathe through my nose for a few breaths in certain poses, but now I can almost always breathe through my nose. I was a life-long mouth breather and was super self conscious about it, but it has improved so so much in the last year.
I actually love hearing your (mild, totally NORMAL) complaints about being a parent as I have a baby girl that’s 2 months younger than Romy. It’s helpful to hear something I can relate to and maybe about some things I can expect to happen soon. I love being a mom, I’m a stay at home mom and it’s tough! It’s not ALL sunshine and rainbows all the time (even though I have an exceptionally calm, sweet baby). Anyway, thank you for sharing ❤much love to you, Jack, Romy, and the dugs. Regarding your sinuses, if you haven’t tried a Nettie pot or some version of it, give it a try!
This video was exactly what I needed this morning. I had my daughter about a month before you had Romy, and today has been a challenge for similar reasons. Motherhood can feel so isolating, especially because many mums feel like they can only show a happy face. Thank you for being so open and honest about the challenges of parenting along with the joys. ❤ A New Year’s reset is a perfect way to reenergize and start off the year on the right foot!
I really feel for you, you're in one of the trenches of parenthood right now and it's so hard when you're in it to keep going not knowing when it will ease up or you'll get more sleep. And it will. And I think most of them time we're all just holding on til we can catch a breath again. Hope you get some more rest!❤
Thank you for speaking about setting goals and intentions. I’m really struggling right now with how to look at my future as I’m currently getting out of a 12 year relationship. I find the way you talk about mindset and everything very relatable and easy to follow. Love this weeks vlog 💕 happy 2024 💕
I highly recommend using suspenders on ur baby will save ur back, strap them under and around when you are help learning crawling into walking. Also try boiling ginger with towel over ur head, will clear sinus
Here from the group chat! ✨ I had a deviated septum and was using nasal spray all the time. I had the surgery and I’m able to breathe properly again, it’s definitely worth it!
Hey Jamie, I’m a mum of a 15,12 & 7 year old. It’s HARD. Your feelings are completely valid. It’s so good your taking the time even if it’s a small time to step back and have time for you. Sending you so much love xx
Jamie you are a normal mom!!! there are always going to be harder parts that wear you out! We still love them more than life. ❤❤❤. And it’s healthy to share those feelings. I’d love another video on manifestation, mindset, etc
Oh lovely lady, you can absolutely feel like that and still be a fabulous parent. Ive so been there and so many mummas will get it. So glad you got a night out. It's something my hubby and I don't ever do now but we need to. One tiny goal is so shallow probably but I don't care and I'm going to share anyways 😊 My birthday is next month and its a biggie ending in 0. I want to order some Vieve! I got some when you first launched it and Ive tried to keep it for good. So saving is underway!! I hope 2024 is everything you want it to be. Sending so much love to you all ❤❤❤❤
Bless you- made me have a wee tear in my eye- your doing the absolute best job of being a super mama and running a wonderful business! Don’t ever doubt yourself you got dis mama ❤ hope you and Jack had the best night happy new year 🎉😊
I loved this girl time & chat ! Utan is legit the best I used it when I traveled in summer to the uk ! The entire look was a vibe to begin 2024 !!! Your doing an amazing job at doing life , always give yourself grace . Xxx
Im a new mom, in the thick of postpartum. My little man is the light of my life but I completely understand how you feel. He was colicky for the first 4 weeks and cried basically all of Christmas Eve. I love him beyond measure, but to say it hasn’t been hard would be a lie. One day at a time that’s would I always try and remind myself 🤍
Queen, can I just say you slayed that outfit. GORJ. My birthday is less than a week away and I have asked for everything on your website. Stunnnnin. So sad I didn’t make it to the pop up shop. 💔 Also, remember the saying “it takes a village to raise a child.” Just remember that ❤ you’re not a machine. You’re human and you’re pouring into her as much as you have, but you too need to fill up your cup. That’s not selfish, it’s self care. ❤ Loz of love ❤
Thanks for sharing , we all are only human 🥰 I remember when my kids were little . It can be the most beautiful thing , but also the most challenging . Hang in there Momma , it gets so much easier ❤
Hey Jamie, I’m a new mom in month four, and I completely understand what you’re trying to say. It is the most beautiful thing but at the same time it IS relentless!! ❤ It’s like an identity crisis. Just want you to know I hear you and I get it, you’re not alone!
We acknowledge and experience the very best and the very worst in parenthood - it is equally as important to talk about both! You should never need to justify yourself for feeling what you feel. You're doing amazing💖
As someone that got a septoplasty, turbinoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery, I STRONGLY recommend it. I dealt with chronic sinusitis and had issues with breathing through my nose as well as sinus headaches and an inability to blow my nose and when I do get ill now, it's so much easier to get rid of because I'm CAPABLE of blowing my nose and can breathe.
I posted this then got to the part where you said you didnt want surgery sorry 😅 I had a stuffy nose for forever and it got to the point where I couldn't breathe. I was on an NHS waiting list for over a year, and when i finally went the doctor said there was nothing wrong, I "just wanted a nose job". I went the private health care route and within two minutes of the apt the doctor said I had internal collapse and needed a septorhinoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery and cauterisation. It's almost two years passed, and I still have sinusitis occasionally but can breathe a lot better!! Get it checked if you can xx
I had a blocked septum from falling over and breaking my nose as a child, I always felt like I couldn’t breathe and had allergies particularly to cat fur, dust etc, if I I got a cold it was awful etc. The doctors here dismissed it, but years already I moved to the USA and went to ENT for another issue and the Dr said when did you break your nose? It turned out I had an enlarged turbinate and deviated septum. I had surgery and it’s been amazing since, no problems breathing or allergy sensations so worth the hassle. You might just have enlarged turbinates as your nose isn’t broken…. I would definitely recommend seeing a specialist.
I can’t imagine not journaling. I use a journal app (it was free) and I started using it in 2014! I can look back to any day any year. I journal most days and sometimes several times a day. Life gets so busy and you do forget things that happen and don’t realise it until you read back.
Jamie, you are so effortlessly STUNNING!!!!! When it comes to being a mama… Cut yourself some slack. If being a mum was easy, it would be pointless. My youngest is 15, my oldest being 28… It never gets “easy”… It just becomes gifted… You will see ❤️❤️❤️
I promise you, you’re doing a great job!! It’s okay to feel bad, and it’s okay to be nervous about whatever you want. Make sure that you prioritize you and you and Jack. I remember that first year for both my babies, it was A LOT, and the baby carrier (when you strap them to your body) was the only way I could get anything done. It was great bonding, but man it was tiring. You are great and Romy is a beautiful baby. You’re amazing and you’re doing great!
Thank you so much for this weeks Vlog Jamie! You looked stunning before & after, thanks for being so real. Love how honest, humble and how much of a beautiful personality you have! Love you so much gal. Happy NY to you, Jack & Romy. ❤ Ps Still can’t get over meeting you at the Pop up xx
I'm so grateful when you chat about the parent struggles too! My little boy is nearly 4 months & I love him to absolute pieces but it's definitely hard sometimes. 🙏 I love watching these videos, you always inspire me. Trying to navigate getting a little me time these days & not feel guilty & you always make me feel better! ❤ Lucy xx
There’s a special kind of guilt that plagues moms, especially if their baby took a long time to conceive. You feel like you should be only happy and have no other negative (but totally realistic) opinions about motherhood. It’s totally normal and how I felt as well when I had my baby. It is so incredibly difficult and the kids change on a dime so it feels hard to keep up with them. The highs are high and the lows are so low. It’ll pass as all the phases do. Continue to prioritize your mental health and accept help when offered by your parents or any other trusted person. All babies are happiest when mom and dad are doing well too.
I’ve had a septoplasty (surgery on the inside of the nose to improve function) around 8 years ago and I would do it again over and over for how much of an improvement it was. I couldn’t breathe through mine for most of my life and it was an absolute game changer!
My boyfriend had the nose op for his sinuses a few months ago and it hasn't made a noticeable difference to him being able to breathe. He wishes he hadn't bothered, but I suppose everyone will have different results! Lovely to have a new video from you - can't wait to see what's in store for Vieve in 2024!
I was just watching and you sound like you have a post nasal drip which I have. You don't need surgery there is medication from your doctor which really helps and I have to clear my nose every morning and evening. I hope this helps. Love you as always it's great to see you I'm currently saving up to buy your cosmetics. Your first palette is my go to every day ❤
Yes I came here to say the same. Avoid using the sprays long term as they can have a rebound effect which is well documented, however there are some really good treatments the doctor can give you. It could possibly be a form of Rhinitis but always chat to a GP.
Love how open and honest you are it makes me feel "normal" knowing there's other who feel emotional ect. Also re the sinus situation my friend was the exact same she had the operation and it has been the best thing for her! She says "it has changed my life" Xxx
Happy New Year, came over from the group chat❤️ would love a video on your spiritual side with tarot and crystals etc - so interested to hear more about it x
Septoplasty is a great option, there is also a Turbinate Reduction surgery that can be done at the same time to help open your nasal/sinus passages to breathe better. I used to use the Oxymetazoline spray when I was pregnant due to the nasal and sinus swelling. It took me 2 full weeks cold turkey to come back from it, and I've never touched it since, but pure saline spray is wonderful to help moisturize and open your nose!! Blessings in the New Year!!!
I was addicted to nasal spray . They never knew then that you can become addicted to it starts doing the opposite unless you constantly use it and then you’re stuck .😬 I had to quit cold turkey and started using saline instead it did get better but took some time . Hang in there!♥️♥️
I love the fact, you are honest because I am looking for videos where people are struggling through pregnancy/newborns because everything seems perfect for most so its hard to find. So, a lot of people i.e me got sinus infection after having the flu couple weeks back. Go to the doctors if it lasts more than 2 weeks.
I was addicted to sinus spray too! It was accidental and it got to the point that I could not breath without it. I had to quit cold turkey, struggled to breathe through my nose for a few days/weeks (it’s been years) and it got better. I need the septoplasty to fix my nose to breathe well but money and time won’t let that happen soon. Personally I quit cold turkey, struggled, and it resolved on its own 🥰
Jamie please don't feel bad about finding parenting a struggle because it is! And especially about Romy not enjoying Christmas, I promise she won't remember this one and there are so many years to create memories she'll love and cherish! My daughter was 11 months on her first Christmas and she had like a 41 degree temp and was not well at all, I'd had 1 hour sleep 😬 accompanied by teething. This year she loved it! These moments pass for something new and everything is a challenge but there is so much good stuff to come. Hope you feel better soon!
I went back to work early after having my daughter thank god my parents were brilliant watching her but when I finished work and collected her the night was on me and as a single parent not easy some nights she would wake to time take her feed wind nappy change if needed then out cold untill next feed but then as she got older things weren't as smoth running you got to take the hard with the easy simple to say but when your going through it's hard sometimes 😢xx
Have you heard about the wonder weeks leaps!!! Once you read them, they make you feel like your not actually going crazy and it's just your baby developing a new skill!!! It's amazing definitely worth a read!!!
I did the same thing in college after a bad cold! I had to ween one nostril at a time. So just use the spray in the nostril you choose until the one you're not using the spray in becomes less reliant on it. I keep that stuff for emergencies still but only ever in one nostril! Hope this helps!
Yes please do a video on goals and intentions etc. I love to hear you talk about these things. I also wrote down some of your 30 life lessons because they are so good. Ps. I still love your vlogs so much. I think I just loved watching your sunday vlogs so much because it felt like catching up with a friend every week. So still thank you for that and that you are one of the only og youtubers that still do these kind of vlogs/makeup videos. You are awesome. Only the best for you and your family in 2024. 💕💕💕
Apparently all of us that felt weird or disconnected lately jumped timelines! I’m a cancer too (same birthday) and that full moon hit hard (I was sick all week) but I keep reading about the timeline jump and it makes so much sense. Great things are coming! 🎉🩵
I love my son ❤ but motherhood is so hard the constant up and downs with it is mentally exhausting and I think every parent would agree definitely not alone in that feeling ♥️ xxx
First, GO GET THE SURGERY. Don’t be silly about it, get yourself better. Second Romy sounds like she is living her best life. As a mom of a 27 year old with a Masters Degree in Software Engineering I think the schedule I created when he was born was putting him to bed by 8pm and he would wake up at 6am. He would take a 3 hour nap during the day. The point I am trying to make is that keep her on the same sleep schedule no matter where you are or what day, and this will help her and you as she grows especially for school. I never had fights in the morning because my kid always got enough sleep. Now as an adult he still sticks to it and he feels like he has more energy. Lastly, give yourself and Jack some grace, being a parent will literally be the hardest job you two have ever had. Many Blessings, and good vibes to you all for the New year!
YES I've been feeling exactly the same way about 2023 and the new year. But taking a little moment to just be intentionally introspective reduces the apprehension that builds up. I think it's partly because life just FLYS by and when we get to December 31st, there's this universal clock giving us a benchmark, so we feel like we need to stop the speed of life to get your thoughts and life together and that's inherently stress inducing. But mindfulness keeps us grounded!!!
Hello from the group chat!!! I had the pleasure of trying some Vieve products this Christmas- all the way in Trinidad 🇹🇹 !!! Love it alllllllll♥️♥️♥️♥️
Headed over from the group chat! ❤ flippin love these chilled chatty videos. You’re such a fab mum, and so honest about the highs and lows of parenting. About the nasal spray - I’m a pharmacy tech so can hopefully offer a bit of advice! If the spray is a steroid (probably is, most are), it’s not recommended to use for more than 7 days consistently as you can end up with rebound congestion I.e. be constantly congested unless you use the spray! I’d recommend trying a sinus rinse, salt water spray like Sterimar or something non-medicated like olbas oil. Hope this helps!xx
About the nasal spray. It happend to me, you have to stop using it and tolerate the congestion until the nose starts working normal again. There’s no other way. The more you use it the more often you need it. It’s awful being “addicted” to it. Hope this helps you ! ♥️
I am a mom of 2 boys ❤ Motherhood is the most difficult and also best thing ever. Also- I am a nurse and you are experiencing “rebound congestion” An amazing sinus spray (Afrin) you are only supposed to use for 3 days or it will cause that issue. I’d suggest you try wean to off of it and maybe use saline sprays and rinses to help. As long as you’re using the sinus spray daily, you will continue to have the rebound congestion. I hope this helps, love you and your videos!
I burned my face as well and i used the la Roche posy cica repair and the cerave one as well. Honestly miraculous. I still use them now whenever i feel my face is a bit irritated. They just repair your skin barrier so quickly.
You gorgeous soul!!! OK, Act&Acre for your scalp. I went to an ENT Specialist a few years back and discovered that I had a deviated septum, hence my difficulty breathing through my nose. Try those Sinus Rinse kits, they are odd but good. You are doing a fabulous job juggling Motherhood as well as Vieve so make sure to pat yourself on your back!!! Good to have these pamper sessions and date nights with your hubby, great for the soul. Happy 2024 Jamie!! XOX
So relatable, feeling the same this week with my 7 month old starting Creche and heading back to work soon after 8 months off has me all over the place 😅 would definitely love a video on setting goals/steps to achieve ❤ love your vids girl hope your feeling better!
Heeyyyyy. So I had an issue with breathing through my nose too….. and yea the spray is definitely a holy grail but if your concerned about everyday use. I switched to steaming. Like with those little face steamers with a little vix vapor under the nose It literally opened my nasal passages. Like 5 minutes morning and night if you have the time. Hope it helps ❤
Happy New Year, Jamie!! Thank you so much for sharing the woos of parenthood! You are not alone!! I have found that parenthood is a wild ride! I hope you had a great date night.
Omg the sinus thing! I’ve literally been the exact same as you, always struggled with my sinuses and just got reliant on sinus spray after having a cold followed by sinusitis. I got tablets called Actifed from the pharmacist, take those as instructed and it’ll clear your nose without the spray and then just do one spray in each nostril before bed to help you sleep, it’ll help you wean off it - the more you use it the worse the symptoms get! Good luck x
Here from the group chat! 🖤 guessing you wrote from the bath? 🛁👀 This video was such a joy! So fun to get to ”hang out” with you for a bit! 🤍 And yes my lashes are ridicilous long now since I’ve started using the modern mascara! Happy new year Jamie, lots of love for you and your wee familiy ✨🤍
Here from the group chat to say happy new year. Also, yes, Modern Mascara definitely makes my lashes grow! I thought it was on purpose and that I missed something that said it also worked like a lash serum. Have the same sinus situation. My next attempt at solution will be regular neti pot use. Hope it helps!
I recently had nasal surgery in June and it had changed my breathing. They did a septoplasty and a procedure called a FESS that widened my sinuses and has been amazing. I would definitely recommend getting a referral to an ENT specialist.
I'm so glad you brought up the LED thing because I have just clocked on I did a similar thing the other week but it is like an under eye LED pen rather than full face. Also been using your tan spray which has helped smooth and also blend in my burns 🙈🙈🙈
Try weening yourself off the nasal spray by using natural forms like olbas oil or strong essential oils use them alternating each night then slowly get rid of the nasal spray to once a week then every two weeks, hope this helps as it helped my friend to get away from them! Also steaming your face and breathing in steam helps to hydrate inside as nasal spray dries out your nose xx
I had the same experience with nasal spray, I found myself not being able to live without it for months and made myself so so ill!! You have to wean yourself off, it will be rough but it won’t be for long, then your nose will return to its normal. Just use the steam from the bath etc. Good luck! 🩷
I have a similar issue with my sinuses and I use Sterimar (or NeilMed Sinus Rinse) to clean them out. Makes it easier for me to breathe out my nose (plus it's saline so no contraindications) 💖💖💖
Perhaps a visit to an ear-nose-throat specialist would be an idea??? Also, as a mum of four, I can say from my experience, parenting is the hardest job I've ever had - you can't resign, though it is the most rewarding experience I've had (I went back three more times).
Hello, here from the group chat 🥰. Happy New Year✨ Omigosh, I’ve almost used my LED mask after applying skincare so many times, but somehow managed to remember I shouldn’t. I kind of thought it wasn’t a serious warning 😳. I’m so sorry that you burned your face 😢. But I’m taking your lesson to heart and being extra cautious from here on out. Healing *hugs*. x
I had a similar issue with breathing through my nose and over used nasal spray. They eventually stopped working so I’d use more and more and they still wouldn’t work. Ended up visiting my GP and I had caused some damage and inflammation. I was prescribed a steroid spray which transformed my breathing and I haven’t had any issues since, unless I’m super poorly with cold/ flu. ❤
I have issues breathing through my nose, when lying down. I started using Sudafed nasal spray and I’ve been using it for over 2 years 😂 if I don’t use it, my nose gets blocked even when I’m not lying down. It’s a vicious cycle, but I like being able to breathe!!!!
I had the exact same thing with sinus spray was fully addicted for a good while and then one day I realised I’d stopped using it and I’m fine now! I’ve even used it during other colds and not had to rely on it afterwards so dont worry🥰
Sinus spray is really addictive in the way that when it wears off, congestion is worse. I had the same problem a few times and my doc said to help me ween off of it, start only spraying it on one side rather than in both nostrils so that one side can back to normal first. I try to never take it anymore but the one side trick helped me to stop taking it all together eventually. Hope that makes sense.
