This does look like a lot of fun... I hope the chimeras are at least somewhat customizable. The idea of making that PPAP bit into a gameplay mechanic is so absurd, it fits the yo-kai watch vibe perfectly!
I think GhostCraft will be the general series name, as Holy Horror Mansion doesnt really sound like a series name. Also Im pretty sure the name GhostCraft was shared when the series was first shown off, like the game wasnt known yet. And it makes sence for a game and its specific name to be revealed together. Also the trailer shows that there are multiple of each ghost color, so I think you need a green ghost for an object to be alive, blue are needed to craft something, and many pink are needed to make a dungeon.
The art, animation and musuc seem great. I just hope they show off more gameplay of what the battle system is like. I find it funny people insist _"Yo-Kai Watch is dead!"_ and people have been saying that for over a decade only for it to keep getting content in some form. Donkey Kong Country is far more "dead" than Yo-Kai Watch has ever been. DK had to wait over 15 years for an overpriced port while Yo-Kai Watch has gotten tons of stuff in that time frame. Reason I bring that up is cuz many people from my experience do not say Donkey Kong is dead because it is too "important" or something like that. Not to mention, did we forget Level-5 only recently made a sequel to the long-"dead" game Fantasy Life that is just aroubd the corner in release? If anyone reading this the kind of person that says this or that is "dead", give it a rest and play other games in the meantime but please continue to show support cuz I know it is important to ya. Side note, anyone claiming this game is AI made that the fuck up and has no proof.

@@MunchingOrange If they intend to push this into multimedia, not having the name of your monster as part of your title seems like a miss. When I say "Pokemon", I could refer to the games, anime, or characters within the game. It's like an exploit in communication to turn it into free marketing. "Ghosts from Holy Horror Mansion" isn't going to slip off the tongue of kids and parents that well.
I am genuinely really excited for this. As someone who collected yokai IRL but never got around to playing the games, I am much more excited to start this. Maybe my excitement for it would finally push me to play Yo-kai watch while I wait for the Horror Mansion ghost RPG whatever it ends up being
One thing I would like to say is, it is probably highly likely that the new game will have at least jibanyan, as he was the old mascot, and had many variants Tho for the yokai watch cast it probably just be him and or 1 other sub mascot
If they know how to use the new mechanics of creation of kimeras, battle and improve the game overall(that includes getting rid of some AI backgrounds they used for the trailer) this could be a Pokemon killer
I'm very open to this new game. Ghost craft (thats what I'm just gonna call it) seems like something fun to play. Its to early to say about the battle system but i like the designs of the world and creatures. The object ghosts are a nice concept. Along with the regular ghost. Starting fresh will be a foreign thing to new people but Pokemon black and white started fresh too. People at first disliked them, now its highly regarded as the best in the series. I just want people to at least give it a chance and be more open minded about it. As for me I can't wait to see what ghost craft has in store.
My guess is that you might be able to get different schematics which will allow you to form different creatures. The apple pen one looks like a turtle, so my guess is there could be schematics for different animals like a bird, dragon and bear for instance, perhaps drawing on inspiration from Chinese Zodiacs or something.
I want to think this game and yo kai watch are in the same world, but nate and the yo kai live in Japan, and this new protagonist and the ghost live in America
Imagine making one of your games main gimmick based on a dead outdated meme kinda show how old and outdated you are the modern trends. What ever level 5 is making is like creating a off-brand version of your own game to bring back older and newer fans. This is giving if saga created a game called fast creatures vs robot scientist and the gimmick is based on the lightning McQueen meme
I'm definitely interested in this new IP. I hope Level 5 takes a chance and localizes it when it eventually comes out. I think it has many of the unique charms that Yo-Kai Watch carried, while seemingly also being more like a standard RPG. As much as I liked Yo-Kai Watch for its uniqueness in the RPG scene, I also completely understand and am totally fine with them choosing to make the successor a more standard RPG.
I think Level 5 said they're aiming for global audience with their future games and they even had English/Chinese subtitles for this presentation so it's definitely likely it will get localized!
I’m excited to give the game a shot considering it comes out in English, I wouldn’t mind trying it out though for sure it is inspired by yo-kai watch, maybe they are trying to do new things that they didn’t get to do with yo-kai watch
I'm happy we get a new game with new story, yes it's not yokai watch but let's be honest, the adens story's are over, Nate and Katie gave up there watches, have kids who become queen and subordinates of the queen of yokai (thecniclly the way you look at it, I also consider the game to be more cannons when it comes to fours part of the anime/ manga) So in a way, unless they start with a new kid, the anime/games story is over tho I do wish they just added a new item instead of getting rid of the watch idea but nevermind that😅
To be fair. People wanitng it to bw a "pokemon killer" was huriting it in the west. Just like TemTem and a few others, they deserve better. Hopefully this revitalize it
The only thing that’s iffy for me is the main character’s design (his eyes in particular). He kind of reminds me of Ben 10, and his overall design seems to be tailored to attract a non Japanese audience? Which is fine but also kind of communicates that Level 5 isn’t confident it can reach a global audience by sticking to its guns
I'm not sure if you heard but apparently there's AI involved...which hopefully it is just for the trailer and won't be used in the final product but yeah that has me a bit concerned. I think the game will be good but level 5 needs to hear us that we don't want ai given how much misuse it has been since it became widely used. Other than that i do like the designs of the characters they showed!
People keep saying this, but I don't exactly buy it. I'm no artist, so maybe my word isn't the best here, but I'm seeing no telltale signs of AI art here, plus the backgrounds don't seem all that different from how they are in past games. So if they did use AI, chances are no art theft took place here.
Can they at least like do a yo-kai watch collection add release yo-kai watch 4 in English it wouldn't be that hard does touch of the graphics and then we will and then record the stuff for you
I'm calling it now: Holy Horror Mansion is LITERALLY the CONCEPT trailer to Yokai Watch 5. If you look closely at the trailer you can see how unpolished it is; how it's literally just trailers and no gameplay; how even the title reveal was so unremarkable (even for a new IP). They just showing you what's going to happen in this new entry, along with new gimmicks and new Yokai. To abandon a relatively known IP with a vast collection of characters would be foolish. Yokai Watch 5: Holy Horror Mansion (or Yokai Watch 5: Ghost Craft) will be about Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan helping Ten (a new watch-wielder) solve the mystery of his haunted mansion while delving deeper into to Yokai world & lore in a brand-new setting. If I'm wrong, I'll gladly eat crow. But either way I'm excited for this game!
Ghost Craft sounds like a ripoff Minecraft but with bad ghost addons Holy Horror Mansion sounds like a mobile game, with a type Subway Surfer character
I’m hyped!!!!!! While it’s sad to see the jibanyan era is over, I’m excited to see where this goes because that trailer was so refreshing. Day one buy for me 🫶
