Shortly after we emigrated to the States in 1983 my father bought a hot dog from a street vendor in NYC. He had a violent reaction after eating, he honestly thought he was going to die!

I tried a Blackpool £1 burger yesterday, with onions, ! and it blew that excuse for a hot dog out of the water - I have got to admit I was pleasantly surprised but if the MM gives it a 10 you have to try it .

There’s nothing better in New York City then going to a street vendor to get a chilli dog, lamb gyros, chicken & rice or any other food when you have got the munchies. 9.5 for me all the time through my experience. 😋😋😋

Love NY went there in 79 with the missus to meet her aunty's uncles and cousins about 40 of them, had a brilliant time and had plenty of dogs and burgers, the best day out, yonkers pony trap racing under flood lights first race was about midnight, best burgers were from Wendy's. Been to the big apple about 5/6 times since just love the place.❤

I agree, times square isnt great. When i was there, a homeless guy was going up to tourists and talking (moving his mouth) without saying anything, like miming and pointing. It was both funny and sad at the same time, another just screamed in a womans ear. The guys in fancy dress are the worst though, trying to con you for a 'selfie' with them.

the stall hot dog was all beef presumably halal if it was a traditional dog in Rudy's it would have been a mix of pork and chicken giving it a more authentic taste

If you want a decent hot dog (several varieties) with better trimmings, try getting one from a Danish hot dog stand in Denmark! they knock spots off what you had there!

Quality of Hot Dogs in NYC 1. Nathan's 2. Sarbett 3. Hebrew National 99. No Brand aka mystery meat Plus here in the US, Ketchup doesn't belong on a hot dog. Onions and Pickle Relish yes, Ketchup no. 😁 If you ever make it to Arizona you need to try a Sonoran Dog. Bacon wrapped Hot Dog topped with chili style beans, onions, tomatoes or salsa, mayo and mustard.

Thanks so much for giving me a street level view of Times Square. I've only ever seen it from above on New Years Eve. Being from New England my hot dogs are on a toasted New England style roll, with mustard, sweet relish and onions. Your hands showed it must have been cold. Looking forward for the rest of your vlogs on this visit to my country showing my sights I have not seen like they say you never visit the famous places where you live. Worked in Boston but have never walked The Freedom Trail, seen Bunker Hill but from a distance as my train to work went by it, the Old North Church, worked across the street from it but never went in. Ah well, onwards to the next one. Come visit Boston see where the American Revolution had it's start.

Got to say, loved the fact that the vendor was wearing those protective gloves, using tongs, the 'dogs were boiled and not sat there 'sweating'. All in all what looked like good hygiene practice. The 'dog looked tasty so I'd go 9.

Nooo we cant have snow. Even if we get one flake everything shuts down. Dont know what it is about hot dogs it's the flavour. It's like plastic. Great video. Love the outtake. Can you do a vlog on kebabs or what Americans call gyros. They remind me of Friday nights in yorkshire.

I would have got the halal food at that stand, anyway sabrett brand has been a street vendor staple on the street of NYC for many years.At one time NYC actually checked if it was really a sabrett 🌭 and not a less expensive brand,I doubt they enforce that anymore. I'm going to be more controversial now, A sabrett 🌭should never have ( ketchup) Tomato sauce. The (works) toppings are usually spicy brown mustard( Guldens) Sabrett brand onion sauce,if you don't like onions green relish,and always sauerkraut Now that's a NYC hotdog. In the day you could pile on the toppings for free,in the 90s they started to charge for more than 2.Nice one Lee Too bad we don't have time machine. When the hot dog vendors with the silver carts with steam were roaming around the city. ,

As a kid in NYC you could walk past a hot dog stand, luncheonette, open front snack shop and eat there with no worries about a perfectly delicious and healthy meal. If I ever go back to visit I will only eat at a Jewish or Italian deli

When I went in 2004 all the vendors had much less fancy carts and basically mostly sold grilled sausages rather than hotdogs. $1 a go, was a great way to cheap eats fill up during the day. I never got Deli Belly once.

There were a lot of stalls to pick from. I’m glad it tasted ok because, at first sight it looked a bit like something from the dog’s toy box. I find a lot of food here in Oz lacking in seasoning too. Enjoy yourself!

The first time we visited New York was in 1999 and I was desperate to have a street vendor New York hot dog , it was $2 and i was sooo disappointed, I did better at home with a can of Ye old Oak ones 😂, love New York though 👍🏻 great vlog , Shame about the mad french girls 😂

My late father used to rave about these when he worked on the queen mary and QE ll where he met my mother but that was over 45yrs ago. We went back over their to see my brother on the QE ll (His treat) we all tried them but TBH it was CRAP!!!
