Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement, they really do help me keep motivated for working on this stuff. If you want to get updates on future videos, I made a twitter account to keep you guys updated. twitter.com/ShuraTensei
👍I mean party control is good....but id rather being creative with what i have and git gud people. The ai ofc are problematic...2007 ai so think about it. Make do people. Even i was shocked they changed the gameplay from p1 and p2 to that of what we have in p3. And somehow i played that game for x27 bfore p4 came out.
@@phemmywemmy I DO NOT REMEMBER THAT? I think I was either tired and didn't think that much about the comment or emoji OR thought it was was another emoji Either way YIKES that could be seen as horrible
Fun fact about both Akihiko and Shinjiro's personas and their human counterparts. Both Polydeuces (or Pollux as he's also known as) and Castor were brothers in Greek Mythology that would eventually become the constellation the Gemini Twins. Seeing as Aki and Shinji had been like brothers since they were little, even how protective they were of Akihiko's sister, it really is a great added tidbit.
3 years late, but some things not mentioned in the video that might be useful: •Koromaru is the only party member that starts already with his ultimate Persona. Moreover, Cerberus is the only party member Persona that nulls 2 elements instead of only one, those being Fire and Dark. Combined with the Counter skills and his native dodge chance, he's suprisingly tanky despite his base HP and Endurance. •Aigis, Junpei and Koromaru all get the multi target versions of their buffs starting at around level 45, meaning you'll to rely on MC waaaaaay less for buffing. •ALWAYS, and i mean ALWAYS analize with Mitsuru or Fuuka when fighting a new enemy. Even if its a Tartarus boss and its weaknesses dont appear to you, the party members will register them and use actual useful skills. Not analyzing is how you get Mitsuru spamming Marin Karin against random enemies.
Fun fact: the "Request a specific BGM" option shown at 21:23 actually plays music from Persona 1 and Persona 2. For instance, Track 02 is a remix of Maya's Theme from Persona 2.
Have y'all ever noticed that party members with the Magician Arcana in all persona games are never the most magically gifted? I can't speak for the first game, but still.
Why did they give him the magician arcana if he is strength-orientated? His stats and skillset is the complete opposite of a magician! It's driving me nuts!
2:05 "You're not meant to make them work FOR you, you're meant to work WITH them." I love this. Truth be told; I've always prefer playing Persona 3, 4, and 5 using AI party members. It's sad that they kinda ditched the idea because they couldn't really find a way to balance AI limitations and player agency. Now every Persona game since P3P has the Direct Commands tactic to ease the frustration.
How do you only have 300 Subs? The quality of this video is absolutely amazing. This was super useful as I'm going to be playing Persona 3 sometime this month. Thanks a lot. You've got a new sub!
If sometime in the future P3 Remakes appears, it would be a nice addition that the Max Social Link of party members gives you the control of their actions because at that point they trust their lives in your command.
This is an incredible video, your genuinely good advice accompanied by the well timed and delivered comedy and editing is really great! I saw you haven’t made videos in a year, but if you ever want to start making them again I think you should! I really really enjoyed this!
Funny and informative; easily digestible. Persona games don't have party members as polarizing in stats as other games but they DEFINITELY have their roles and you laid them out wonderfully.
I too am playing after having played P5R, and am still getting used to it a bit as well. I'm able to control my team mates. Are you playing P3FES for the PS2, or P3P for the PSP? Maybe that has something to do with it? Either way, all I have to do is go into tactics and take control just like you can in P5R and P4G, difference is that P3P defaults to AI and I don't remember 4 or 5 doing that.
after years this should still be relevant, ive been searching for it but it took sometime. RU-vid you fail me to recommend this to alot more people. this video is very high quality and helpful! thank you to the creator. now i will enjoy me some persona ❤❤
@@totallynotkhobsessed You've probably figured out by now, and trying to avoid spoilers. But there's a reason that spending XP on him is a mistake. He's tempting to use because he's strong and cool, but favour someone else.
This is an awesome video:) It's helpful, high quality, and pretty funny to-boot. Thank you my dude. Though I am curious on something. I'm about half way through the game ( I think ), and most of my party members are in the low-to-mid 40's, but it's showing that some of them don't have any more moves to learn. I'm wondering why that is, since I know they'll learn more ( both because I watched this video, and because it would be super weird if I had to go through half the game with only mid level spells ). Edit: never mind, I just got to the sad part and figured it out.
if you emulate persona 3 there is a specific cheat you can download to command party members personally its made my experiance with the game a lot more fun because i like having 4 turns
22:04 I think you should also note that you can avoid team mates from returning to the dorm when tired by making them battle a shadow and you can go on then return to the lobby. That way they won't leave when you return to the first floor
Just found this video now and it's really great! I doubt I will ever play vanilla p3 or fes (I really dislike having the party doing things I don't want, even if it's more "realistic) but it's still a very good guide nonetheless
the devs deliberately made party members uncontrollable, for a specific purpose and go into great detail on their design decision, defending the decision. . .only to backpedal on it in persona 3 portable and allow you to control the companions. . . i'm not calling the devs hypocritical, because i myself would rather just control the companions and issue commands, so that change is a positive thing. i just thought it was funny i'm playing FES and it's so irritating when one of the companions does something dumb that i don't want them to do. . .
How the frick frack do I have more subs than you? You put wayy more effort into your video and it’s way funnier than mine. Good work man I’m gonna shoutout you out and just help a fellow content creator because you are talented and well versed in the Persona community
Junpei is not the best friend character, nor is he like Yosuke and Ryuji. He wants to be in charge, he has his own drive and he absolutely hates that you overshadow him. By comparison Yosuke almost immediately says "Oh I'm more than happy to be your bitch, don't worry about it!".
Junpei does have his own drive, but the first time you meet him he approaches you in a friendly manner and tries to make you feel comfortable in class despite being the new kid. And while he does show jealousy from time to time, it's insignificant compared to the amount of times he actually acts friendly to you. He gives you his old PSP to play with him, he gifts you a game, he chats and jokes with you whenever you approach him. 80% of the time he speaks with you he's being a genuine bud.
@@ShuraTensei yeah you're definitely friends, but he's not your best friend like Ryuji or Yosuke. He's much better friends with Yukari than anyone else on the team. He's is to Makoto as like Yukiko is to Kanji, they're friends but they're not insanely close or anything.
@@pezdispencer113 5 months late, but in persona 3 dancing so..questionable canonical here, you can call Junpei "You're best friend." and he acts rather pleased with being called that. so it's kinda possible that after their big jealousy run, he starts seeing the MC as a good friend.
Akihiko, Yukari, and Mitsuru are my main for the most part. Aki and Yukari are great supporter and Mitsuru lift most of my burden in combat. And please learn buffs and debuffs don't be an idiot like me.
I know you are talking about persona 3 fes, but I just wanted to say that in persona 3 portable when I gave the order to split up someone found money and she gave it to me just as we proceeded to the next floor, I don't know if this is only for the portable version, it just happened to me. BTW it was Yukari
Forgot to mention this, but no. It's not hard to do since you can split your party and they gain a ton of XP that way, and any teammates that are several levels lower than you can catch up to your level quick. But actively going out of your way to level everyone equally is not something you should focus on, it's better to stick to a party and maybe switch out one teammate from time to time depending on the situation. It's very easy to stick to one party since you can easily fill in any gaps in the party composition with your own personas.
That's the Idea, yeah. If you want to add an underleveled teammate at any time you can easily let them fight by themselves while you heal them and they'll level up quick. But it's much more efficient to just stick to one party. Also keep in mind that new teammates after Junpei and Yukari don't start at level 1, so you don't have to grind them up to your level when they finally become recruitable.
If Persona 3 ever does get a remake, I hope they’ll do what Strikers did for NG+ with Wolf and let you be able to have more opportunities to use Shinjiro regardless of where you are in the main story.
Aeon is the social link arcana she bestows upon the player. Chariot is the arcana her persona represents within the game. The P3 cast consists of the 13 main arcana. (With Takaya, Jin and Chidori representing Fortune, Hermit and Hanged Man respectively) so yeah. tl;dr Aeon is the SLink she represents, Chariot is her personas arcana.
