Woah, what a trooper. Thank you Pint for playing this in one session. Definitely agree that this ended up being one of the better .1 patches (iirc 3.1 introduced Krile and the WoD, 4.1had that story with Fordola as well as and Nanamo and Rauhban, and 5.1 had that business in Eulmore with Chai-Nuzz as well as Alisae discovering the cure for tempering). 4:19:42 Definitely the highlight of this patch. Estinien's reaction afterwards makes it even better. Honestly I'm glad that they're giving Y'shtola more screentime in the patch content. She definitely didn't have a lot of things to do in base EW other than being the one that delivers the knowledge dump. I'm just glad that she has more things to do here especially considering that she wants to keep her promise to Runar. I never expected that we would be dealing with the travelling between reflection plot point so soon. It won't be happening for a long while, but I really hope that Yoshi-P keeps his true to his word and gives Krile more things to do in 7.0. Still can't believe they forgot to add her in one of the EW promotional posters considering Zenos was there instead of her. Side note: I'm glad that they added the Unending Codex now. It's weird to think that there's probably gonna be a group of people where the next expansion will be their starting point, so it's nice that there's an in-game log that keeps track of the events that happened in the game so far. It's also gonna be useful for those who haven't played this in a while, so the addition of this is very much appreciated. Lastly, I hope Pint doesn't forget to do Void Ark. Mighy be useful if he plans on doing the Tataru sidequest later on. It gives some useful insights regarding the void, and let's not forget, Sky Pirates.
Congrats on clearing 6.1! This is the expansion where they are not following their usual way of things. Instead of doing it in 6.3 like they've done every expansion until now, they ended that particular saga at 6.0. This helps explain why it took 5 hours to get through a .1 Patch instead of maybe 2 or three hours. Patch 6.1, Newfound Adventure, is the start of a brand new story which will need extra set-up time. In future MSQ streams, 5 hours actually might not be enough if you are planning to do the entire patch MSQ in one day.
Tataru: you have so many titles and achievements, but what if you set everything aside and started as an adventurer again My character: OH HELL NAW, STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN?
Imagine the all-knowing hypothetical primal answering you on how to cure cancer, stop world hunger and get to world peace. Everything works out fine, but as soon as you ask them about the ancient past, the primal just makes up shit to troll you, since you can't prove them wrong and they know that.
1:40:00 - Pint gives an inspiring and wise for his years speech on "Don't wait for this to do that." 1:50:00 - Pint IMMEDIATELY turns around and says he has to do something before he'll do this other thing. Ah, youth...
You didn't notice the Radz-at-Han music during the MSQ because it didn't _play_ during the MSQ. Instead it was a sad version of the song to reflect how fucked the city was at the time.
I would seriously love to see/hear you do a Grinding Gear podcast, and I know they have expressed interest in catching up with you. Also, the biggest problem with mint (IMO) is that it tends to overpower whatever it's cooked/used with. Used in small amounts (like in mint peas), it's not as bad.
8:00 - Speaking on Haurchefant, I still get grief from people, but I literally didn't know who he was when the Vault happened. My sub lapsed just before that and I stopped playing for two years. So when I came back I was like, "Okay, I gotta do this dungeon... Wait, who is this guy? Oh, that sucks... But... I'm supposed to know him?" Is weird how everyone's experience can be so different.
All this time I've never understood how tentacle dig worked; for some reason I thought the tentacles were drawing the AoEs, but after watching it in this vod I finally see that the tentacles are actually just looking for a point to burst from the ground, with the AoE being spot where the tentacles burst out.
Pint let me start off with I love you and support you. Now that being said. Toothpaste is not naturally mint, its ADDED because mint flavor is appealing. Imagine dissing on a flavor because something else used it to taste better so now the original flavor is cringe. Its like people hating vanilla because its "boring" ignoring the fact that its the MOST USED FLAVOR EVER. I'm gonna need you to put your adult person pants on a get a better take. Do you only eat Dino nuggies too? Signed by people that love MINT. (in case people cant tell, I'm joking and just ragging on him a little.)
I honestly think that when 7.0 or 8.0 is out they'll be making 6.1 a new alternate starting point and that's why you get a journal that tells you who everyone is.
@Acias If they're planning a new 5 expansion long arc, at some point they've gotta lower the amount of required content for new players to reach the current story. Imagine in 10 years, someone sees an amazing trailer for 12.0, only to hear they have over 1000 hours of story to get through, including an ARR-EW arc which is presumably as relevant to them as 1.0 to us.
I forgot the name of this patch, so when I clicked it all I was thinking was "Oh nice, let's see what kind of stream Pint has decided to do post-MSQ :)
Okay, I just *have* to say this. Putting mint in food came before toothpaste was a thing??? It's not mint sweets that taste like toothpaste, _the toothpaste companies made their gross fluoride-based teeth medicine taste like the sweets._ So people would actually use it. Oh my god. (Also a good reminder that character arcs are not essential to every character, in every story!)
I saw one person in chat mention it but yeah... the theme in radz-at-han doesn't play during msq. Just like how the song in Eulmore changes after finishing the story. I like the msq version a lot but it definitly isnt the post-msq bop
@@Kasaaz The short story on the Lodestone featuring Hermes makes no mention of him trying to recreate Meteion when he joined the Convocation. In all likelihood the grief from the implanted memory of all the Meteia dying probably prevented him from doing so and he focused more on his duties as Fandaniel.
Good, catch on with current content, reach the content draught, look for something else to do and be the one streamer to do the beast tribe quests in all of their grindy glory and pure awesome cutscenes.
Kinda annoys me when people throw the "Slow" word around so much and they almost always mean it as an explicit negative. And in the context of 6.1, like, we just got through a 10 year long saga, now we're on a NEW adventure. What merit is there in even discussing whether or not the introduction to a new story arc is "slow" or not. You're building a new foundation, of course it's gonna take some time. And not to mention, we went through a LOT in Endwalker. Eorzea needs to reconcile the aftermath of the Final Days and The WoL deserves a little downtime for once
