You give most of us all we need because all we ever do is go into guitar shops with the dream of sounding good for a few moments.. you are a priceless gift to us all. Thanks
Crazy how this is one of the best videos for learning blues. There’s literally everything in here. Practices this for two weeks and smoke some good weed and see what happens.
Not only are you a great blues guitarist... But you teach really well! The speed and detail you provide gives a novice like me hope. I've never seen anybody verbalize position and technique so fluently.. You are really appreciated! Thank you.
This is so wonderful you have no idea. "The Blues" your teaching me is something I only dreamed of in my life (68), now I think I might be able to do it thank you very much.
I realize this video is a few years old ,but I just got to say you are an excellent teacher, love the way you make sure that whomever is trying to learn understands where all the notes and chords are coming from , I've been playing many many years , I an 63 years old and I still get alot from your videos , plenty of inspiration, and a great sense of developing original ideas, Thank you Brian !
Brian Brian Brian can’t tell you enough, “in” A very short time of membership you changed my playing and improving and wanting to learn more & more each and every time I play. Saying Thank You isn’t enough for what you give and offer. Best of Health, Best of Playing,Best of Friends Wild Bill
I was self taught. I been playing since 9 and I'm 66. These little things, like the up pick on the open E make all the difference. I'm gonna study this and learn. I learned piano but guitar is my real love. I am grateful as can be for your sharing this knowledge.
Brian - you are a truly brilliant teacher and you are one of the reasons why RU-vid is so successful - a gifted person sharing their know how with students everywhere. Much more success to you in 2022 and beyond.
Thank you for the fantastic teaching. I'm teaching my 10 years old grandson, and myself to play blues ,and we just love your lessons .You're a great teacher.
So glad I happened to find your channel ! I've never seen anyone with a teaching style like this. Excellent ! Everything makes sense now ! It's fun to play again ! I took guitar lessons 60 years ago. I had a stroke in 2011. Took out my right arm. But I can play at my own pace . I really appreciate your lessons , I'm having so much fun playing again! Thanks so much !
I finally joined today! I've used nearly every online guitar site there is. Most of them have had good points and have helped me improve, they either become too expensive over time or don't target what most of us really want and that is to be able to sit in a room by yourself, pick up a guitar and just play. Thanks for these style of lessons. Looking forward to trying out some of the country style lessons you have also.
This is a really sweet blues. I bookmarked it a few weeks ago to start on after I finished my last song, a 12-bar delta blues. I'm sure it will take a while to get down, but I'm locked in and ready to go!
At about 9:40 you're mentioning 4th string but playing on the 3rd string, unless my ancient eyes are deceiving me. As a former school teacher I have to say your presentation is excellent, in spite of what others may say here. Many who are more advanced don't understand that you need to teach to the slowest students as well as give a little something to those who are further ahead. I wish they could be more understanding, skip ahead if necessary, and simply take away the info they need. Thanks for the wide range of lessons and all you do for us.
Never really been able to play the blues but think with grit and determination I might just been able to do a poor version of your slow blues...wont give up
What an excellent lesson. Totally groundbreaking lightbulb moment for me. Too many pretentious blues lessons out there. This is a beautifully simple breakdown that even a beginner can pick up a lick or two if not the entire thing.
This sounds amazing, can‘t wait to learn it. I‘m always excited when you put out a new lesson every week, and I always know from the first few notes if I like it or not. This is just beautiful, and it will definitely become part of my repertoire.
Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "guitar lesson advanced" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Wanichael Corylexander Equalizer - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my work buddy got excellent results with it.
This model guitar was made by Harmony- the body and neck etc for Vega- which then retailed them along with some flat tops also made by Harmony. Harmony made some great hollow body archtop electric guitars at this time- this guitar being electrified some time after it had been sold- it does sound great.
What a great find in that guitar! And you took it to the limit and made the best of it! Thank you for putting your talents together and bring a vintage guitar back from the past I really love that sound!
I have a guitar my nephew had out in Oregon bought it back to nj gave it a good cleaning the pickup it has is called speed bump its like 1950 shaped more like a les Paul nice guitar called a old craftman sounds great plays allsome has that one of kind old electric guitar sound like yours
Nice that's just the kind of stuff I want to learn to put me up to the next level of playing an help me understand the blues scales in more ways an where to use them and how. Very cool I'm glad I came across this lesson thanks so much active melody
Beautifully presented tute. I liked the explanation and passion behind your discovery of this old Vega guitar and the pace of the blues demo was just right for beginner/intermediate learners. Thanks and kudos to you 😃
