I made my way up, battling my fear of heights a little at times, and spent the most beautiful night on this tiny island, surrounded by the blue-green water. I watched the sunset-coloured clouds and the milky way dance above my head, I got cold, paddled in a waterfall pool and talked with a mountain goat. I loved this lil trip so much 💚

Drone shots, underwater shots, shots from a static camera at a distance… the amount of running backward and forward getting all that amazing footage is bonkers. Awesome work

I went there as a teenager in the 70s in a really hot summer. We sat on that island, and I played a guitar (yep, I carried that old guitar all over Snowdonia until it broke), and we sat there all night and climbed down in the dawn. Snowdon was really busy that year, but for some reason, we didn't see anyone when we were up at the lake. We had a lot of special times in those mountains that year. A group of teenagers from London who had just done their O-Levels and felt the world was theirs. It's wonderful to see that the spirit still exists. A beautiful little film.

One of the things I like that you do well, also Bushman and Blue, is to describe and discuss the risks you face on your adventures and the decision making process you go through to mitigate risk or modify your plans when the risk is too great. It helps those less experienced to understand the decision making steps when doing activities such as this. You portraying your fears and limitations is so valuable to let others know it’s ok to change plans before a dangerous situation is created.

@@leroy7513 Hi Le Roy, great to hear your opinion. But in the interest of free speech, I must say, I hate this narrative I receive all the time about being a weak and vulnerable female in in the outdoors. Of all the things everyone does on a daily basis (including getting into a car), wild camping is very low down the list in terms of danger. And of course there is risk - as there is in anything :) You just take precauations to lower it, and apart from that steep ledge - which Claire then avoided - this was very low risk. Would you have called enjoying a night outdoors foolish if she were a man? I think the only thing foolish here is for her to not live a life doing the things that make her healthy and happy, like getting outdoors. I think we all deserve that, regardless of gender, and I wish the same to you too :)

On an island, on a lake, high on a mountain, just you and the goats and sheep! Wow, that is incredible! I'm glad the weather held for your adventure this trip. When I think about all the doubling back to move cameras and tripods, and shooting the same precarious segments from different perspectives, I applaud your efforts. What is already a dangerous feat, you go back and do all over again for the aerial shot, or the low-to-the ground perspective shot! Your trips are awe inspiring, Claire. Thanks for taking us along!

I camped in the same spot some 30 years ago, but wasnt quite as lucky with the weather. By nightfall, the wind had picked up to gale force and I spent the night clinging onto the main pole to stop the tent blowing away. To cap it all, I developed a fever and was all too happy to retreat the next morning to spend the day shivering and sweating in the local youth hostel. Even so, I still look back on that trip with gratitude

I must admit I do harbour a little ‘fatherly’ concern for your safety at times, as that terrain can be unforgiving, but you seem to take it all in your stride. @@Francophone974yes thats the saddest part. Same with baobab trees. They look great in the open fields, but sad reality is that its the only tree that doesnt burn or can be used to build. Thats why they survived

As a content creator, here I am still stuck between the original Mavic Mini, mini 2 and the latest instalment: can't make up my mind for 💩 & look at the shots ol girl is getting here with an ordinary Mini, this is sick. It goes to show you it's about the location & shot composition as it is about state-of-the-art gear, great work Wildbeare. Don't you wish you had the Mini 3pro to get those extra features like acting tracking and 4k res? & lastly, how many hrs do you get out of the Gopro 10 & how are you doing it? I tested bought the 9 for a few days, before I could set up my shots, it would have eaten 20% off the batteries, had to return it, smh.

I have to say Claire you surpassed yourself yet again. And you really knocked it out of the park with those night shots. Without light pollution it was stunning. That still with the shooting star was beautiful. I agree with you, go with your gut. But without pushing yourself you wouldn't have these vlogs. But don't risk anything for us. I just can't get over that night sky and the morning Goat. Absolutely beautiful. Now beat that!!! Two questions, well three. Did you carry an Inreach? How did you find the island? Studying the maps or word of mouth and three, what was the mobile reception. The reason I asked the last one is I have a 5G phone. Never had 5G in the whole time I had it. I went up to the B29 crash site on my Ethel Challenge up by Snake Pass in the Peak District National Park and in the middle of nowhere I saw I had 5G. Madness. But thank you again Claire, this one is unbeatable.

Llyn Glas at the top of Cwm Glas Mawr. I've often thought how great it would be to go back up and camp there one day. It's at the foot of one of Snowdonia's classic scrambles, Clogwyn y Person arete.

I love your channel! But, as a native of Colorado, USA, I forget how much farther north the UK is than where we are here. The Colorado Rockies are pretty rugged, but we don't get above tree level until 3,500 meters!

Thanks so much Paul, yep I'm loving pouring over the maps and planning routes away from the main paths 💚 there were people heading up there when I was on my way down though, so seems I had it pretty lucky! A stunning video. Such a great introduction to experiencing the magic (by actually getting out there) while knowing your own limits. I just had a wonderful wee wild camp a couple of days ago. I've got to admit you probably just about had me beat on the location you were in. Amazing! On the other hand... I had my morning coffee watching otters 20 metres away pretending they were dolphins. I'm going to call it a win for me on the Better Breakfast front. :-)

So true what you say, Claire. I cycle a lot, and when I go on a long ride - 100 miles or more - I can always find many reasons NOT to do it. I don't feel 100%, the weather isn't perfect, the bike might malfunction, I'm getting too old, and so on. The thing is to dismiss those reasons and DO IT ANYWAY! You live your life by doing, rather than not doing, and that's an inspiration to us all.

'Wild camping heaven' - Yes, and I actually live near by! Generally, I avoid Snowdon, but that little bit North of Crib Goch and the Parson's nose is remote and almost devoid of other climbers.

Love watching your camping videos. I am an avid camper as well. Have been travelling and camping around Australia with my two dogs, Deja and Bodhi since 2009. Have had many tents but I have had a caravan for a year now. Safe and happy camping Claire. 😃💙🌹👍

Crib Goch - you have a typo in the name. It means red ridge. Make an effort with the local names and you will be rewarded with a stronger connection to the landscape. The lake is Llyn Glas. Glas means either blue or green depending on the context. Interesting that you describe the water as being blue-green.
