A rainy night with the team of the Thailand Beetles Breeders Club up on the highest montain of Thailand. But we were lucky. A Cheirotonus gestroi longarm beetle was visiting us.
Please don't over-hunt, some of these species might be endangered. But i would love to do this kind of thing without the killing! Imagine how many different species of beetles and other bugs you can find in such a place! I would sit there all night, catching one bug at a time, taking clear photos in a jar, then releasing them. There are apps like iNaturalist where you can post photos of these insects, get them identified, and contribute to the database.
I'm always anxious to watch every video posted by professor Ambuehl. And I'm eager to see more 'beetle garage' breeding reports. Daniel, thank you for being a great source of education and inspiration to breeders the world-over, including those in the US.
