The real nightmare is when actors like Jackie Earle Haley are expected to turn garbage into gold. I won't hate on his portrayal of Freddy, as it felt like what a real, non comical Freddy would be. I'll just hate on the writers and director for stifling his talent. Another spot on review!

Yeah the original effect was just a sheet put over a hole in the wall. In the 2010 version it was CGI monstrosity.

NGL, i only watched this version because Kyle Gallner was in it and I have a huge soft spot for him as an actor. I liked him in it, but that was about it.

Honestly after they changed him from child killer to child predator put me off ( it felt like they did it to be edgier and could have left it out.) , The kids were well casted but the script didnt make me care for them except the swimmer kid, and the cgi was meh to look at. Other than that, it followed the og pretty good, but not good enough to rewatch.

I was so disappointed in the remake. I wasn’t really on board with Jackie Earl Haley playing Freddie even though Watchmen kicked off a come back for him. Making Freddie a serious character was a slap in the face to us. Rooney Mara must have still been channeling “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” level of emotional freedom, and Lutz was the worst 30 year old high schooler I’ve ever seen. And yeah, all the Sexual stuff wasn’t necessary, that’s why it was left out of the original movies

I actually think this remake was pretty well handled and could have truly rebooted the series. The problem is the bad CGI, a B plot of innocence that leads nowhere and our main man not being able to emote enough. Freddy I creepy, like the original and I thought that.

Wasn't... errm... shit! Yup, the CGI was, dated! But mostly unnecessary. Practical wins out everytime (within its own boundaries, at least). But, shit the bed mate! This is just my opinion I don't think it's the crap fest that lot of people think it is. At this thing a lot of people felt uncomfortable because in this universe Freddy is a straight up you know what. Whereas in the past it had only been implied.
