The actress who played Taryn here said that people who saw her performance in this scene said that it got either themselves or people they know off drugs and change their life around.

thing is she was actually winning with her small knives thanks to her belief in them and strength of will. But freddy being freddy, targeted her weaknesses
Freddy rarely ever tries, he likes to toy with his victims because he knows he's far superior to them in the dream world no matter what special abilities they have. You saw how he took on Jason Voorhees in the real world, the dude was fighting like he was a black belt or some shit.
I believe it’s out there; but this tested better(you can find the unedited kills from the other NOES films although those were to avoid mc-17 rating). The head exploding made it come across more cartoonish and less like her od’8!(.
I think there was a part of Freddy that liked Taryn. Even though he killed her, it was one of the least gruesome deaths in the entire series. Probably had some strange sense of respect for her too, considering she gave him a good fight.
Actually (Sorry to "Actual Lee" you), that's more because during filming, they had planned to film Taryn's drugged up head exploding in some way, but the fake head either didn't look right or the mechanisms didn't go as planned, so they decided to scrap that bit. But your theory i guess works in some way... still dies from OD'ing. XD
Every time I see this clip, I can’t help but notice that Freddy doesn’t get two of his fingers/needles in her right arm when he goes to insert the needles into her arms. Freddy corrects it though and moves his finger(s) so that ALL his fingers are in her right arm. I don’t know why they didn’t just do another take but they didn’t and it shows laziness on behalf of the Director. Press Play Yes but it can be argued that this film is the results of Freddy Revenge as he scared a lot of teens using jesse body in the real world which means who knows how many kids he killed in their dreams before this film.
As much as I love seeing Freddy be so evil, I really felt bad for these kids. They get to be all cool and power like in the dream world, yet most of them still get killed. :(
Honestly an opioid overdose in probably the least painful way to die. Literally you would just black out, if the dose is high enough. A lower high dose would cause panic from respiratory depression.

They actually use heroin in british hospitals. Its called diacetylmorphine. Its the same way you would change salicylic acid to acetylsalicylic acid (Asprin.) And both heroin and morphine should be totally colorless in salt from because there are no unpaired electrons. Thats why you will always see drugs as HCL or sulphate at the end of it. But yeah idk what fredd's is killing her with and its probrably not opioids lol.
It's soooo sad though Freddy could have been held at bay for while. Why did she let him talk, he's like totally evil he was just trying to distract her.
Poor Taryn. :( I have to say this, though: She was pretty stupid and arrogant, thinking that she could stand a chance against Freddy with those small knives as her only weapons.
I haven't seen the movie since I was a kid, but I think she was an addict maybe at one point and those would be spots she shot up in the past and they're begging for more drugs kind of.
