Day in the life of a plumber Back on the renovation and things take an unexpected turn Thanks for all the support as always guys, it is greatly appreciated #plumber #plumbing #dayinthelife
No need to apologise Tom, TBF I thought you did a remarkable job to keep your chin up, I think I’d have been crying in the van for the rest of the day 😢! Love your positivity and top tips.
You're a better man than I am a woman to rip it all out and move it, what a job! 😢 Well done as always, love the positivity and the advice to others, I enjoy all your videos, keep it up buddy 👍
Thanks for the support mate, there is something to be said for only doing the in and out jobs, I do enjoy a bit of everything, have a great weekend mate
Blimey Tom that's not good 😯.you don't mind some alterations But to move it all to a new location takes the wind out of your sails 😯. But like you said we have all been there 😯. Hope you get your van sorted quickly. Nothing worse when you are used to having your van and all your bits then have to loose it for a bit 👍👍👍👍👍
That sucks. People don't realise that it screws up your diary down the road. Welldone for keeping your cool. I'd be effing and blinding, unless you didn't record that part, lol.
Gutted for you Tom. I hate ripping my own work out. Their fault mate. They should have made all the final decisions before you got the plans. Hope your van gets sorted mines in for the dreaded MOT on Tuesday so got my fingers crossed for that.
Thanks for the support mate, it does happen on jobs where people change plans, it's normally just move the odd thing, not entire bathrooms though, I hate not having my own van, it's not the tidiest but I know where everything is, working from a hire van is difficult, hope yours passes it's MOT, thanks for watching as always
Everything will be fine, I do a lot of work for this client and they understand the extra work will bring additional costs, thanks for the support as always
There’s nothing worse in my opinion, all that graft gone in a conversation! You handled it well Tom ( on camera!) but like you said there’s no point in letting it consume you. All the best mate👍🏻
Tom you have a great perspective on the trade. At the end of day I am sure the customer has weighed up the cost to him of this change which includes the work put into the install, the rip out and the additional and new work to meet the new plan and also has to accept the impact on the schedule because of other work you are already committed to for other customers. All the same very disheartening and demotivating. Keep up the good work.😀👍
Thanks for the support as always mate, it's always frustrating to rip work out, ultimately it has to meet the customers needs, it does push the job back a few days but we will be back on track in no time, thanks for watching as always 👍
Thanks for the support as always mate, to most people theses things are just pipes, to a plumber it's our life, it's difficult having to rip good work out
Absolute gut wrenching to here they changed it around, a lot of man hours went into that first fix Tom, But if there paying for it we’ll change them handsomely 😢, But the Bathroom Saga has another episode or two for the fans to get there teeth into, 😂 Great job and video as always mate 👍👍🤜🤦♂️
Thanks for the support as always Tony, there were quite a few man hours on this job, to most people they are just a few pipes in the wrong place but to a plumber they are our lively hood, it's hard re-doing stuff but like you say as long as I'm being paid we just keep going
Well it looked good Tom but such is life. I got a job on at the moment. from the boiler the flow & return hot & cold need to be moved as a window coming out & French door is going in, the problem is the pipes are in the way, the choice is either dig a channel in the floor across where the French door is going & it's solid concrete or go up from the boiler into the ceiling and across and back down, terrace house converted to two flats. ground floor obviously. Was going to move the boiler but doesn't really solve my problem & gas would have to go in ceiling void also.
Sounds a bit of a nightmare mate, sometimes it is easier to get the pipes in the floor depending on the screed depth, every job is different though, I'm sure you will make a great job of it, thanks for watching as always
Know the feeling. Did a nice neat job in a hot press area upstairs had it just finished. Owner comes home said he wanted it all moved downstairs ahhhh 😢like your vids you do nice work.
Ah mate I totally feel your pain. Hate site visits because things like this always happen. Look on the bright side, more channel content. Hope you get paid well for this one. 👍🏼
Thanks for the support as always mate, you sort of get a sense on as site visit that they are going to make changes, at least it's not completely finished which has happened before
Thanks for the support as always mate, it was a tough one too take at the time, ultimately the customer is always right though and I have gained loads more work off them since, always try to give people what they want
Thanks for the support as always mate, I wouldn't have minded as much but I'm really busy at the minute, just when you think you are getting there you have to start again
Wow Tom, it’s awful taking out your own work, especially when you take pride in your installation like you do. My ocd would be buzzing for days, I can see and hear your disappointment but you took it well. Looks like it’s time to start again, that customer must have money to burn. A totally unexpected twist to the film after the site meeting, made for a great film. Have a great weekend and as always, take care. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, it was unexpected to be fair, you normally get the odd change but not normally entire rooms, everything will work out good in the end and the customer will get the job that is best for them, thanks for watching as always mate
Thanks for watching as always Andy, it was a tough one to watch back and edit for me, I'm sure in a few years I will look back and smile, these sort of jobs stick with you a long time
Great content mate, saw how frustrated/pissed off you were about the job, can always rely on clients changing their mind, not your fault but I know the feeling, finish ya day, go home & sulk if it helps & put it behind ya, appreciate ya vids mate
I was gutted to be fair, I once first fixed a bathroom four times, the lady was an interior designer, she would come round on a Friday afternoon and move everything, job was an absolute nightmare, thanks for watching as always mate
Hell fire Tom, that was one of the things I hated about Plumbing , redoing what I had already done, you took it well, and I know your right about having to get on with it ,but honestly proper wound me up when it happened, keep the vids coming, they are quality hope you have a good weekend. 👍🚽
Thanks for the support as always Peter, these things happen from time to time, it's always frustrating but I just need to get it right for the customer, I'm sure everything will work out in the end, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Never mind Tom, you’ve just got to treat as another job, as you say other job planed, you now know you’ve got guaranteed work for the next couple of weeks. Keep your head up keep smiling .👍👍👍👍👍
Tom no need to apologise you handled it perfectly however disappointing it must have been, I can think of one You Tube plumber who would have totally lost their 💩 if this happened (not a UK plumber btw)
Thanks for the support as always mate, I rarely lose my temper, the job is tough sometimes and it does get frustrating when people change things but it's all part of the job, thanks for watching as always 👍
Thanks for the support mate, it's a nice feeling when its not my fault for a change, like you say sometimes it's better to come back the next day, things always seem better
Had a few jobs like this in the past where customers changed their minds but as long as I got paid for installing it, ripping it out and then installing it again I didn't care.
That would make me so angry, to be honest I would demand payment for what I’d done and walk away, tell them to find someone else, messes all your schedule up going forward as well, and if they’ve done that to you what other surprises are they going to throw at you.
Thanks for the support as always Paul, I'm more thank happy to make changes as long as I'm being paid, it's better too see a job through to the end, I find if you don't make a fuss and just crack on with it it generally leads to more work in the future
Thanks for the support as always mate, there will be additional costs now, I always make things as fair as possible to the customer, although you do feel like charging double
It does happen mate, sometimes when everything is ripped out back to bare bones they see exactly what space they have, it doesn't make it any easier but we need to get it right, thanks for watching as always mate
@@PlumbLikeTom i'll skip installs and stick to the in and out maintenance and repair jobs 😁😁😁 let you do the hard graft and sweat 😅😅😅💪💪💪💪 have a good weekend tom 👌👌
Thanks for the support as always mate, the rads were spec'd and are slightly oversized for the rooms, they are having covers over them though I believe and I should be able to run the boiler at a lower flow temperature to make it more efficient, these places leave the heating on all day and night so if the boiler in condensing all the time it should help to reduce the bills a bit, I can do a video on rad sizing at some point mate if it helps
Disheartening is the word your looking for mate… I do work non stop for a housing association and you have to work backwards a lot of the time…. Rip out work when you’ve not long done it as it’s been trashed by a tennant for example. Crack on mate and chin up! And get ya mug sorted for a brew lol!
Thanks for the support mate, there is nothing worse than ripping good work out, I can't imagine what it must be like to have people destroy it, it must be tough some days when you have to keep re-doing the same jobs, thanks for watching mate
Disheartening is the word you’re looking for Tom, after spending so much time making it look so well in copper 🙁 As long as the bills get pay it’s a scenario of yes Sir it’s possible but just time consuming with “your” change of plan!! It is what it is 🤬🥴😁
Thanks for the support as always mate, I was proper gutted on the day but I'm alright now, it's a shame to rip good work out, have a great weekend mate
I just used gaffa tape, it's just to stop the copper reacting with the plaster or block, I'm not a fan of denso in the wall as I've seen it where it has bleed through the finished plaster, thanks for watching as always 👍
