my wife of 39 years died in 07 and sometimes I wish I was with her, there is nothing for me here. she was my world, and there is no life without her, shelley. I will love you till I take my final breath on this earth
Well I’m going into my sixth year and I have some idea of how Leonard Perez feels..I was with my Jennette 53 years she was the love of my life-today she is in the arms of Jesus and I expect to see her when the good Lord calls me home. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of her and miss her.
@@Jimgoodwin846 fact that true love lives on in the ones staying behind. Death really is our enemy but yes, Jesus overcame. We will too and you will see her again. In the meantime, live life to the fullest, you are still here for a reason. Blessings
Miss Jones, I am glad there are those , like yourself ,who have made a mark in the music scene without relying on the showing skin sex appeal thing that seems to be taking over todays music industry. Your beauty and talent shows your character as an individual. Ta much for keeping it real!
This song means more as you age. Because as you grow older, you realize that there are fewer and fewer that you can love. So, singing this to someone older, you know there is probably no one but that special last one for you.
she does all this without screaming and bouncing all around. she tells the story as it was written and meant to be told. interesting how she brings soul to the country music scene. a gentle soul.
It is not natural for a woman to be this insanely talented and insanely beautiful. I'm convinced Norah Jones is no mere mortal. She is a goddess... "Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there?"... Yes Norah, I most certainly do.
So lonesome tonight, doesn't help that I'm bright. I'm a lonely and lingering fool. I'm a miserable sight, come and sit by my side. We'll be lonesome together as two.
We all know that Norah Jones has the greatest voice in music today. But check out the guitar player's lead break. Tasteful, melodic, clean, uncluttered...........exactly what this song called for. Fantastic version of a great song.
Norah Jones has one of the most soothing voices I have ever heard. I think she is a great singer and everytime I hear her sing she makes me relax and takes all the stress away!
The times when we are done wrong by a lover are often best ended and remembered by the tribute of a song. Few songs can express a break in a relationship so painfully reflective as this one. Delivered to herself for us to overhear, in a manner that absorbs us all. Not just a tribute to Elvis, but a matching musical compliment in her own magnetic style.
I'm a big fan of Elvis and I'm even a bigger fan of Norah Jones. To see Norah sing one of my all time favorite Elvis songs is like a dream come true.......THANK YOU!!!!
the stars are lonesome tonight without Elvis,GOD bless all Elvis fans and the family of Elvis that miss him so much....I sure do miss Elvis and his music.
Are you lonesome tonight, do you miss me tonight? Are you sorry we drifted apart? Does your memory stray to a brighter sunny day When I kissed you and called you sweetheart? Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare? Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there? Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight? I wonder if you're lonesome tonight You know someone said that the world's a stage And each must play a part. Fate had me playing in love you as my sweet heart. Act one was when we met, I loved you at first glance You read your line so cleverly and never missed a cue Then came act two, you seemed to change and you acted strange And why I'll never know. Honey, you lied when you said you loved me And I had no cause to doubt you. But I'd rather go on hearing your lies Than go on living without you. Now the stage is bare and I'm standing there With emptiness all around And if you won't come back to me Then make them bring the curtain down. Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?
I listened to an Elvis album over and over when I was young. I'm talking, ten years old. I'm now 51. It is my favorite Elvis song. She certainly does the song well.
the guitar player demonstrates how complex and haunting the guitar as an instrument unto itself like no other , can be and I feel likewise about the fiddle / violon
Nora , please cover more "oldies" , my favorites. But, really , you can do it all. I would like to see you in concert. Keep singing. Maybe some day we can have a slow dance. Thank you. Have mercy.
this song goes to all the lonely people missing their beloveds after 12 am wandering on the internet listening to good songs like these and trying to work on something nice :)

What a wonderful version!!!.....the style, her voice, music arrangement.....everything about, are so matching and beautyful. I love it and i can't stop listening to it.
Gee ! what a wonderful version of this love song of Elvis. Sure he would be honored to hear Norah sing in that way. Thank you young Lady for this beautiful tribute to him.
Norah is not a magician by her profession. But, she exhibits magic in her performance by means of her very sweet, melodious, meaningful, appealing and commanding voice. Bravo Norah.

Not many people know this was collected by A. P. Carter. For more info read "Will you miss me when I'm Gone?" about the Carter Family and the Carter Sisters groups.

Does anyone have another version of this song sung by another female singer? I heard this song a long time ago sung by a woman with a voice fuller and slightly deeper than Norah Jones. If anybody can help me, it would be much appreciated.
luckyman64 Vaughn De Leath's version was a great hit in 1927. I can't really comment upon the voice because the way songs were recorded at the time is too different. So, almost 90 years ago. Must heve been a lot of male and female singers who did this.. (And if you want, you can date it at 1892, but that was really different).
Are you lonesome tonight? 당신은 오늘밤 외로운가요? Do you miss me tonight? 당신은 오늘밤 나를 그리워 하나요? Are you sorry we drifted apart? 당신은 우리가 헤어진 것을 미안해 하나요? Does your memory stray to the bright summer days 내가 당신에게 입맞추고 당신을 애인이라 부를때 when I kissed you and called your sweetheart? 당신의 추억이 그 밝은 여름 날들을 더듬고 있나요? Do you gaze at your door step and picture me there? 당신은 현관문을 보고 내가 거기에 있다고 생각해 보나요 Is your heart filled with pain? 당신의 마음이 고통으로 채워져 있나요? Shall I come back again? 내가 돌아 갈까요? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?
Norah Jones can turn her marvellous voice to just about anything - and bring out it's sweetness and heartache. I'd like ot hear her do Song For Sarah - Joni Mitchell tune - her musical companions are itching to blow. What a voice. Great post. Many thanks.
when her career is finished. she will be viewed as one of the finest music artists who ever lived. we are looking at a living legend, so people, please cherish the moment while you can.
