Look at the sheer joy on Bonnie's face when NJ starts singing. I know that look. I was sitting 2nd row watching Waylon look at Willie just like that. Music done by real pros is sometimes just 🎩 magic.
I've been chosen to do this song as a solo in our Senior Chorus (Ballston Spa). This has been a favorite of mine since my childhood in the '50's, even as a child.
Few voices on the planet bring me to tears. Norah Jones's is one of them. She just opens her mouth, her voice emerges, and the tears roll from my eyes...

WOW can you imagine losing your spouse and best friend too? Smh. My sincerest condolences to anyone who has had to overcome such devastating circumstances. I commend you! MUCH LOVE FROM NEW ORLEANS EVERYONE ❤️
I love how NJ never takes the show from the elder musician's and always shows such deep respect for them. she is a gem!! much respect for Bonnie as always ❤️❤️
In 1977 I was working at Del Norte Conservation Corp and would play Bonnie Raitt in the dorm....guys in the dorm would walk up almost stunned and say "who is that'?........everyone loved her instantly!
This pairing is fantastic. Both are excellent instrumentalists who take solos (and crush em), and both are great singers! And they have an obvious chemistry. So damn good.
These two women have a special relationship with not only their instruments but also with their vocal interpretation of this special standard. Feelings and sonorous grace combined gives us everything we could want for their rendition!! Thank you both for all you give!! ♥️
The combination of these two wonderful women musicians let you hear and feel the suffering of this person’s lost love and maybe even our own sadness of a lost love!!! Thank you both!! ♥️🙏❤️
Oh my goodness gracious the goddess & the princess singing the Tennessee Waltz hadn't heard anybody sing this song quite like this all my lifetime! All I can say Is WOW!
Norah Jones is all class. She's an absolute genius without trying and she never seems fazed by the occasion or company - rightfully so as she is in a league of her own. Charismatic, talented and stunning to boot!
Don't we adore Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones is so talented both just beautiful, damn I would love to get up and dance to this song it's a classic and Daddy and my Mom could sing around the clock ⏰️, how sweet
My Mom played this on the piano when I was a kid - I was a professional musician most of my life. These two together - it doesn't get much better, kids.
Norah......that girl can do ANYBODY'S song and make it HER SONG!! What a GREAT version of this old classic!! Bonnie Raitt puts her whole soul in that RASPY COOL SOULFUL VOICE.....and SO DOES NORAH!! Amazing!!!! Norah's voice isn't Raspy.....but DEFINITELY SOULFUL TO THE MAX!!!
Bonnie's soulful voice, bluesy repertoire and natural charisma make her music world class. The emotional invocation of her slide guitar makes it Other Worldly. ✌️❤️🎸
I HEARD /saw a video of these two women doing this soft number in a different venue and not everything in the system was as perfect as this elegant moving picture is. It really brings me back to where I want to be, which is serenity without pills, if you will. I award them 4 Hearts.
Fantastic duo, two beautiful singers. Been listening to Bonnie Raitt for a good number of years and like her country rock sound and love Norah Jones singing come away with me!
Two of the BEST ladies of entertainment, thank you both for getting myself and others through the good, the bad and the ugly of life, especially today ! ! !
It's definitely a great version of 2 great, beautiful artists in Bonnie & Norah. However, Tennessee Waltz goes much further back than the 70's. The Ladies to thank first who made this song a timeless classic are Patti Page,Connie Francis, & Patsy Cline, along with Hank Williams, & Elvis Presley! This song has been recorded and covered by over 300 artists in music.
Bonnie/Norahl!! Such a GREAT duet!! How about a WHOLE ALBUM, girls?? I am SURE as SURE as SURE it will SOAR as a DOUBLE PLATINUM or BEYOND!! Just Saying!!! SO MUCH SOUL!!!! OH MY!!!!....GIVE US "MORE"!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
I thought that too. Norah was so sensitive, to get the most from this. It was delicious. Two women playing instruments and singing. Bonnie plays that guitar so sweetly. Hi from 🇨🇮
Well it's obvious to me: she has no self-confidence at all. She's like a scared little girl alongside Bonnie Raitt. There are plenty of others like this - great musicians who get mentored by a world class player but who really can't make it on their own (for example, Robert Cray with Eric Clapton).
I heard an interview years ago when she had a surge in main stream popularity. She wanted a jazz career and not be cornered into trying to write billboard hits.
Been loving Bonnie since Love Me Like A Man...she's a national treasure and a woman who has brought more recognition to old Blues artists than almost anyone.
I met Bonnie in the late 60s when her father John Raitt came to my high school to visit her brother Dave. Dad gave a beautiful recital in a teacher’s living room (it was a Friends boarding school) and afterwards Bonnie, Dave and walked around the campus talking about music (mostly Blues). She was unknown then but released her first album 2 years later and I fell in love.
This is one of the greatest covers I've ever heard of this classic. These two are some of my favorite female singers outside of country music, and to see them collaborate on an all time favorite of mine is absolutely phenomenal. Great job Bonnie and Norah!!!
My mother.does not leave in the states or speak the language.but I play this beatiful song one day and she just told me with her eyes closed.Angels are singing.thank you for this song and more Angels.
Such a lovely classic; the piece and the performance. If a blessing doesn't inspire joy, you might be in range of dead. Count me in the joyous column. Thank you ladies!!
Hey Corinna! Apologies for dropping this here I came across your RU-vid channel and I would love to know you better. If it's okay with you, I'd love to be friend but if it sounds odd or embarrassing in any way please don't embarrass me by replying. Have a wonderful day, and keep sharing!
OMG...BEAUTIFUL...soulful performance...this performance is a gift to the art of music...music to think by...and remember...two lovely voices....such talent...
