Blessings,blessings blessings. Trelawny wi seh everytime, best parish Inna jamaica big up di rasta man real farmer. Man have everything on his land to feed people yam, banana, plantain, sugar cane ext. Love his reasoning bad!!

Yuh have some little now a days RADA farmers telling people bs about real farming my growing up days come si papa ah mama a cut dung bush ah bun up place ah plant up crops nuh know nutten bout no RADA bs and dem use to get di best crop dem.

So a lot of the things we grow up see our parents and grandparents do, we now know through research, has been wrong. Slash and burn method of clearing land is definitely one of them. Just look at any land where the vegetation gets burnt, rain comes, there is nothing on the soil to hold the water, what happens, all the top soil with most of the nutrients gets washed away, leaving the soil nutrient depleted….Just one example of the consequence of burning vegetation to clear land.

I love your programming, but can’t you challenge that man on that nonsense…. It’s long been established that slash and burn damages the soil and kills microorganisms therein, risk soil erosion, and more….Also if you burn bush, yeah what’s left might be some minerals that was in the plant, but if you also put that same plant to rot and it becomes manure, you’ll get all those minerals, organic matter, beneficial microorganisms, and more. Please, when you hear these guys chatting nonsense, please challenge them, save you putting out incorrect information.
