A Day in the Life of Tuscany, Italy
My Little House that I bought during the pandemic is located in Fivizzano, North Tuscany and considered the Florence of the Lunigiana. I bought here because the views are extraordinary with the Apennines mountains as my backdrop, along with the sounds of the church bells as my playlist and the beach and sea only 30 minutes away. The Lunigiana region is a historical territory of Italy between Liguria and Tuscany nestled between valleys that open at the foot of two mountain chains: Apennines and the Apuan Alps.
I’ve discovered that Fivizzano is full of music, art, lakes, waterfalls, historical performances, wonderful people and an easy place to hang my laundry! Plus, I visit nearby Cinque Terre - absolutely stunning - for the day as well as Cortona which many of us fell in love with after reading and watching ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’.
And what better way to finish off the day than checking out a new restaurant - Osteria Raccontadina on the Piazza Marzocco - just the ticket for Annette and I, topped off with biscotti and limoncello.
